I hope Huia was able to visit him and celebrate in some small way, or at least spend time with him awake and comfortable, bless him.

Your turn next week Huia, and your son too, what an expensive and busy time it was for you when your son was small and all those birthdays just after Christmas!

Oh Liz, you didnt need to put up a thread about Phils birthday! He never was one for celebrating his birthday, or Christmas either (bah humbug).

11 Jan is a popular date in my family tree, what with me, son, niece, mums cousin, dads cousin plus dads cousins grandson (or is it a gt grandson?). I think of us all as being Easter eggs.

We made sure our 2nd child wasnt a January one! We aimed for Oct/Nov. She was b on 29 Oct. Clever us.

One year for my birthday mum was a bit upset because she had just 3d (I think it was) left over after Christmas and the holidays, but she found a glass bead necklace and a bread and butter plate which she gave me. I loved them.

I should have said thanks, anyway, Liz and Gail. I am forgetting my manners, just a pity I cant forget my birthday too. Another year older and deeper in wrinkles.

Yes, well timed with the Oct birthday for your daughter. How special those gifts were from your Mum, and how happy she must have been to see you so pleased with them.
