I have a great uncle who emmigrated to the US between 1861 and 1871, this is a bit of a guess but he is on the 1861 census and not on the 1871 census, his family are Hampshire born and this could help but I do not know. As he was born in 1849 it would probably be nearer to 1871. Can someone please guide me as to any information on this. He died in 1894 and his body was returned to UK for burial in Hampshire, does anyone think that there could abe a record of this ? Although I have a vague address, only town and State in the US on the UK burial record would he have had a US social seciurity number and how do you find this out. |
