Slow Running Computer

The computer was running slow so I opened up Windows Task manager to find that a high CPU usage was showing.

I closed the Genes Reunited window and it dropped to practically nothing.

I opened up GR again and it shot up.

Anyone else getting the same symptoms?

Is there something on this site which is chewing up loads of CPU?

Brian, I don't know what web browser you are using or what CPU you have but on my system, with Internet Explorer 8 and a 3.06Ghz P4 running Windows XP SP3 with 2 Gb memory, I am unable to detect the low level of CPU useage in Task manager whilst typing this message. When opening the GR Home page or particularly the Family Tree page then CPU useage very briefly goes up to 30 per cent.

The CPU is Pentium 4 2.60Ghz.
512MB Ram. (Which I appreciate is low)
XP Professional 2002 SP 3.

GR seems to be the only site that uses all the CPU, it's over 90% !

When I shut down the GR window it drops back to under 10%.
