Anyone got any tips on how to either cure OH of snoring or help me to sleep through it?
Short of a pillow over his face I'm getting desperate!
Have tried digging in him the back so he turns over, bought myself ear plugs but they don't seem to stay in. Also tried separate beds but only been married 18 months so this is rather desperate measure but I need a good nights sleep. He's been to GP who was no help at all. Any tips please?

Is he overweight? Does he smoke? These are two factors in snoring, and losing weight and giving up the fags can help.

There are some strips you can buy that just pop into the nose and keep the nostrills open, and so stops snoring. My friends daughter told me her partner uses them and they are great. Available from Boots

Edit, thinking about it the strips don't go in the nose. They are sticky and stick over the nose, they pull the nose open.

TeresaW - no he not overweight and never smoked. Trouble is that he doesn't see it as a problem so I think any solution will involve me having to learn to cope with it. Maybe I have to stick out for separate beds until he acknowledges it as being a problem?

My husband has a snoring machine.
I went with him to the specialist - that might sound silly - but I could tell him what was happening and describe the snoring etc as I was the one awake. He had a nose operation but still snored and then he did the sleep apnoea clinic test and they make you breath out as hard as you can into this tube etc and you are in a small cubicle and he blacked out.
The machine is great - and occasionally I get cold air from the pipe blowing in my face, but apart from that it is a life saver.

The first time we took it through Airport security the woman there said "that's so you can get a good night's sleep sir" and I said, "no it is so I can get a good night's sleep"

Do get it sorted it is worth it and good luck.

PollyPoppet - I love the idea but don't think I've got the strength.
I think I'm going to have to stick out for separate beds until he realises there is a problem.
Can you still get hold of those tape recorder thingies that we had in 70's / 80's so I can record & playback to him & GP?
The worst of it is when he stops snoring and you lie there waiting for it so start again
