NEW SHOES

I bought a couple of new pairs of shoes the other day. A black pair, and maple syrup coloured pair. They are high healed, but not stilletos, and laced up.
I can remember stearing my old mum around Nottingham as a teenager, to get a pair of these, when they were the height of fashion before.
Thing is, that was 50 years ago. They do say that 'what goes around, comes around'.and in this case it is obviously true.
Still, it reminded me of me mum, now no longer with us, and made me smile

Hi Julia, the title of your thread reminded me of a poem I used to know at junior school.

New shoes, new shoes,
Red and pink and blue shoes,
Tell me which would you chose,
If they'd let us buy.

I do remember lace up shoes with high heels.

Nowadays though I hate wearing shoes of any description and tend to wear Schols (spl) type whatever the weather.

Then I don't have to bend down to get them on or off and I don't need tights or socks. I think that my feet must be claustraphobic.

Did you used to wear high heeled laceups with maxi skirts or maxi coats?

My daughter recently bought a pair of lace-up heeled shoes.....a bargain in De***hams.
She has a bit of a 'thing' about shoes and has sooo many pairs.
She's making up for the very few pairs she had as a child, I guess. Her feet were different sizes and a nightmare to fit for shoes, so she had new shoes regularly, but only one pair of proper shoes on the go at one time.
Invariably though all of my 3 used to go around bare foot in the home or garden, by choice.
