Donna,
if you want to give me your dad's name and date of birth I will take a look on Scotland 's People to see if he was born in Scotland, although I don't have enough credits left to view the image,

The Mitchell Library holds all the electoral rolls for Glasgow back till c1912. However, you can only search by address ... not name.

Scotlandspeople: is the site to search for births, marriages and deaths.

Lisa, I think its possible that he may be born England... there is one that shows up on births whch might fit, have sent Donna some details so hope if Donna contacts Whirley there might be a clue to go on.

Donna ,youll only find his birth details at the Mitchell Lib and possibly marriage details ,,,,,they dont hold electoral rolls.

Sorry Donna , just realised from your TTF post that looking at Ancestry for a birth won't help you if he was actually born in Glasgow.

Ask when you get to the library perhaps about 'Scotlands people' ? I am not well up on Scottish records but there should be someone there who can advise.

Donna , Ancestry might help if you are certain of area and if he has a name that is unusual. You obviously have an idea of area, and I assume age. If you want to PM me I have Ancestry so can look to save you time tomorrow.

Donna, is it that you are hoping to use 'Ancestry' to get the details of his birth? or that you are going to look at electoral rolls?
