From doing my M*******sons shop, and looked at my receipt. Almost everything seems to have gone up at least 5p and item.
Only salvation is, they are selling Sharwood Cook In Sauces @ £1.32, buy one get one free, and a 2kg bag of sugar is half price @ 49p. Bought some for the stock cupboard, only I don't use it for myself. I suppose you win some, you loose some.
Happy Shopping

I noticed a couple of weeks ago that As** put their own brand tea bags up by a pound a box !!!! I've been shopping around and getting special offers for them elsewhere.......in fact I rarely seem to buy anything these days that isn't on offer lol. I think all stores are at it tbh. ...and I think it's only likely to get much worse too !!! xx

Sheeeesh!! I have just, today bought a bag of sugar for more than £1.

Usually OH does the shopping because I hate it, and it makes him feel usefull. When he first retired I had to drag him kicking and screaming into Netto's, but now he dosn't shop anywhere else.

I can remember the day when you could make out your shopping list and know to the penny, how much it would cost, but those days are long gone.

Merlin,There's nowt wrong with ready made sauces, stick some meat and veg in a casserole dish throw it in the oven and forget it. Saves hour's of time.

I too use cook in sauces, why go to all the bother when somebody has already done it for you?

I too noticed that on peppermint tea bags cheaper to buy 40 than 20!!

I think things went up when the VAT changed back and some places didn't implement it straight away so we are noticing it now.

I was annoyed at Christmas......went to T's and always have a couple of tins of their baby carrots at 19p a can......and they were charging 29p.......I find they are easy to put in mince for shepherds pie.....

I waited and now they are back to 19p......fancy charging an extra 10p.....
