Hi Jacinta,

There is a web site: www.freebmd.org.uk
From the home page, select search, then the type of search you want ie, birth, death, marriage.

Enter the name, then select the district or county, choose your date range, then find.

When you have found the correct entry click on the page number, this will give you a list people whose marriage is listed on the volume and page of the GRO. (usually 8 I think) unfortunately the couples are not grouped together, but if you know the christian name of great grandmother she shoud be easy to find. The site is an ongoing project, and some counties are not complete. Once you have the information you can order the marriage cert to confirm your findings.

Not very good at explaining things in writing, but I hope this helps

Regards
