so two or possibly 3 possibilities then

1. She has changed her email address and not notified GR, so any messages they send her are not getting through.

2. She no longer has any interest in GR and is ignoring messages from GR

3. She's dead, sick, or has given the computer away.

I think you're at the end .................. if she hasn't opened the emails then you have a problem.

Thanks for your replies. The messages have not been opened. If I am right, this contact has matches with people who could be my closest relatives, as yet unknown to me. Imagine how frustrated I am getting!

Regards,
Margaret

Has she opened the messages that you have sent her?

To find out, go into your Sent Messages box.

If the envelope is purple, she has not opened it.

If it is green, she has opened and read it

If it has a darker green curved arrow on it, she has sent a reply.

If she has not opened the envelope ................... she may not be interested enough, or she may not have visited the site since it was sent, or she may not have received the email that GR sends to say there is a message waiting. She may not have received the message becaaue she changed her email address and neglected to tell GR, or she may be dead or sick or given up the computer.

If she has opened the envelope ....... then you have a whole array of reasons to think about, including she's no longer interested.

I think you should first check to see the status of your message to her.

I think you shouldn't give up, it's been mentioned on here before, that people have had replies a year or more after they have sent a pm, presumably you are trying to establish contact with a match perhaps?

If a Genes member does not reply to messages over a four month period, do you think it is time to give up? What do other members think?
