Yes!
I had a boyfriend, bit of a Casanova to be frank. I met him when he was in the RAF. He left and we both moved in together in Portsmouth. I was 17, he was 23. I got a good job in the Diplomatic service, when I was 18, he was a civilian fitter in the Dockyard. He was offered a job putting the steps in Fingal's cave on the isle of Mull (honest!) and went. When the job was finished, he was offered a ticket to anywhere in the British isles.
He chose the furthest point he could think if - the Shetland Isles.
Once up there he asked if i would join him. Despite having a good career in front of me, I went - and spent the next 6 months living in a tiny 2 man tent with him!
We were there for 3 years - wonderful times! I don't have a career, but have wonderful memories. We married after 7 years, had 2 wonderful children and divorced after 6 years of mariage - but are still the best of friends.

He's now got a bloody good career - teacher of 16+ special needs children!

Just give me a reason, some kind of sign
I’ll need a miracle to help me this time
I heard what you said, and I feel the same
I know in my heart that I’ll have to change

Even the stars look brighter tonight
Nothing’s impossible
I still believe in love at first sight
Nothing’s impossible

How did we get to be this far apart?
How did we get to be this far apart?
I want to be with you, something to share
I want to be near you, sometimes I care

Even the stars look brighter tonight
Nothing’s impossible
I still believe in love at first sight
Nothing’s impossible
Even the stars look brighter tonight
Nothing’s impossible
If you believe in love at first sight
Nothing’s impossible

I still believe in love at first sight
Nothing’s impossible

Muffy,

In my case it wouldn't be the 'start' - it would be the continuation of something that started 15years ago - you know the story......

It's been a case of, on - off - on - off over about 10 years and the past 5 more like just simmering on the back boiler but neither of turning the heat up - but the love has never died - i still even get butterflies when i remember back to the moment i first 'realised' there was something, and the little flip that my tummy did lol

Recent events have made me realise i don't want to waste anymore years but it's still a big step.............

I think that the start of any relationship is a bit scary and you have to take a huge leap of faith at some point ....

Love always wins through in the end.

my OH and I met where we both used to work. We were both married to other people at the time...long story but we fell in love and decided we wanted to be together. We got a lot of flack, people saying it wldnt work...and here were are 14 years later. My Mum (RIP) wasnt happy at the time and said i was jumping out of the frying pan into the fire, but once she met him, she adored him and said he was the best thing to ever happen to me and he is..(reaches for tissues)......

You only get one chance so go for it....................
