'Monster' jailed for sex attacks

A teenager who sexually assaulted a nine-year-old girl while on bail after raping a 10-year-old has been jailed indefinitely for the public's protection.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be identified, was branded a "sick monster" by the mother of one of his young victims.
The youth pleaded guilty in October to rape, five counts of sexual assault and causing grievous bodily harm to the two young girls.
Liverpool Crown Court judge David Harris QC ordered him to serve a minimum of five years behind bars and told him: "To read and hear of the violence which you perpetrated on those little girls for your own sexual gratification is truly chilling."
Debbie Gould, prosecuting, said the youth first struck in parkland near his home in St Helens, Merseyside, in April last year, when he was aged 16.
She said: "He began to follow his victim, who was three weeks short of her 11th birthday, and stare at her. She carried on walking but whenever she turned around she saw the defendant behind her."
Miss Gould continued: "He grabbed hold of her and despite her resistance pushed her into some bushes. She was trying to scream for help but he said to her, 'If you shout one more time, I'll break your neck'."
After being subjected to a prolonged sexual attack, during which the 10-year-old was raped, she managed to free herself from his grip and ran home.
Miss Gould said the teenager was arrested, and although he denied the assault, he was charged with rape. After initially being remanded in custody he was granted bail at Liverpool Crown Court with a condition that he reside outside Merseyside.
He went to live in Blackburn, Lancashire, where the second offence took place. The defendant targeted the nine-year-old as she was collecting insects with friends close to an area of woodland. He lured her to a secluded spot where he subjected her to a violent 45-minute attack during which her jaw was broken in two places.
What is wrong with our laws that say indefinitely means a minimum of 5 yrs? It should be a minimum of 50 years, this evil person should never be allowed out. What hell on earth did those little girls go through to gratify this pervert?
When will justice mean justice and a punishment more suitably fitting the crime, be meted out?
What with Ben Kinsella's killer being allowed to have a page on Facebook and use it while inside, and the above ridiculous sentence, this country no longer has a justice system to respect.
