Derek, thats about right, sapper is the lowest rank in the army of Royal Engineers.
Myself, I was a a national serviceman,Signalman, TG op (Telegraph operator)in the Royal Signals
1959 236xxxxx

regulars with us,were 234xxxxxx
I think she means Groom as in Bride and Groom......

Hi dizzybare,
He was a Sapper in the Royal Engineers ,working in the stables . The B.A.O.R. stands for British
Army Of The Ri ne[not spelt right],
Ex Sapper my self stationd in Germany,we had sappers working as grooms in the rideing school.Sapper is the same as Privete
With anumber that low he must have been National Service. Dereku

I have just got a 1953 marriage certificate with the grooms job as
Sapper - I know what this is
No 22250788 - I assume this is his service number
R E( I think ) Troops - I assume this is his regimernt - Royal Engineers
B.T.B. ?
E (or B) A. O (or D) R Y ?
This is exactly as it is written in the Rank or Profession box

Can anyone help with the last two lines please?
