Kay - the marriage details that Aunty Sue found for you is from FreeBMD. It's a free site and very easy to use.

Was this question not on TTF yesterday? I think so.

Actually, I know so, because I posted in the thread.

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.asp?wci=thread&tk=1203407

What was to look up?

The marriage was posted in that thread, and I explained to you how to obtain the certificate.

The rule is: one post per subject.

And the rule of thumb is: genealogy questions are best asked on the genealogy help boards.

Kay, for future ref, it isn't a month, it's a quarter -- Jan-Feb-Mar, Apr-May-Jun, etc. That's all you need to know, at the GRO site I gave you directions to.

And the info that was found all over again in this thread is exactly the same as the info you were given yesterday.

To find your threads any time, click on "My threads" over on the left side, and then ask for further help in the thread it's about, and that avoids having the information scattered around and unconnected, and having numerous people do the same thing.

Actually, FreeBMD does give the month of registration. But remember this is only the month of reg & there can be many reasons for a delay in a registration. Especially with births.

Happy hunting Kay........We were once all new to this & still learning.

Actually, Steve, it doesn't. ;)

It couldn't, since the GRO index is organized by quarter, not month, and FreeBMD is a transcription of the GRO index.

Kay had been given the marriage registration info and then asked how to get the certificate. I had explained how to do it. The GRO form for ordering the certificate asks for the quarter, not the month.
