Does anyone here watch the Deadliest Catch on Discovery channel (last year was also shown on either C4 or Five)?

Have you heard about the death of Phil Harris, the skipper and co-owner of the Cornelia Marie.

Apparently he suffered a massive stroke while unloading at St Pauls on the 27th January. He was flown to Anchorage where he underwent 12 hours of surgery on the 29th January. He came around from the surgery and according to the website he had been talking to his 2 sons Josh and Jake on the 3rd of February. But it was announced today that he had passed away yesterday.
He was a great skipper and will be sorely missed by his boys, family, crew and friends.

RIP Captain Phil.

Did watch the programme last year.

Do remember the name of the fishing boat.

Would not like to have done their job.

I do catch bits of the programme now and again, but there is usually some crime programme on that I would rather watch.......sorry to hear about this captain......one programme I watched was when they were catching spider crabs........made you wonder if it was worth it all, risking life and limb in such high seas........one of the younger lads was flushed overboard, but they are all clipped to the boat and they managed to get him back aboard without too much damage to him, apart from being terrified...... they also showed one of them being caught in one of the winches which pull the trawl in.......but he escaped without injury......

I love heavy and stormy seas.......but would not like to spend day after day like this......
