Oui je parle francais que j'apprenais a l'ecoleJane! (I think that's right but sorry can't do french acute on this pc.) I managed fine when we we took the caravan to France a couple of times, but they talk so fast when they reply don't they and it's hard to follow sometimes. I remember asking this farmer once (in french) whereabouts in his huge field should we put our caravan and he stood waving his arms to all 4 corners of the field and replied in english 'onywhere, onywhere. :-) lol.

Yes OH is always telling me (after the event!) that I should have got something at the time, but I never learn. lol

I think you are spot on about the charity envelopes. MIL would feel so important getting the letters of thanks afterwards and would probably think the same as your mum did. I just wonder how many more there will be. We only found first class stamps in the house and doubt she would use second class. Even the sound of that would be offputting to her I think as she seemed to THINK she was a little bit above a lot of people having come from Eastbourne!! lol.. We found some more of her junior school reports where she did very well and was top of the class. She got 100/100 in a maths exam.

Mel, your OH has been spending too much time with your prickly friends if he is wanting to sleep through the winter!! lol. OH has said before that he'd like to hibernate as well.

That's a shame about your daughter's horse Liz. Had she had the horse many years? My old schoolfriend got a farmer to dig a grave for hers in her field. Not sure I'd want to do that.

Yes Ann, we/she had had him since he was 8 months old! He was a rescue from some idiotic people who brought him in a sale in the New Forest 26 years ago, they stabled him at the Farm where we kept two other horses, and they hadn't a clue how to look after him to the point that he was neglected and ended up with compacted colic which nearly killed this poor baby!! We took him over, and he's been with us ever since. Daughter did wonders with him as he was a brilliant jumper and all rounder. He was a lovely boy, so good tempered, and willing. Some of the years he was put out on loan, then came to us for a while, back to daughter, out on loan, back to us and so it was for the whole of his life. BUT, old age together with cushings, caught up with him and today, apparently he couldn't walk even with heavy pain killers, so the hunt was called and that was it. Poor old Bramble!. What with that and the suicide, it's not been a good day.

Marie et Pierre passe un partie de leur vavance sur le ferme de les uncle ??

A little I remember that we had to learn parrot fashion when I was at school.

Now where am I going to use that ?

Seriously most of us only use 400 words from the English vocabulary, and perhaps

some out of context, but we all get the gist. I think I do all right for a Geordie.

If Chelsea lose tonight (the game's in progress) and Murinoh sounds off again or

trips over his lip he's almost certainly a goner :-)

I have broken a vein in my middle finger in the middle and it has gone all blue and it itched like anything.

Jane Report 27 Oct 2015 21:17

Oh Liz .That is so sad about the young boy who took his life and at that age.It is just terribly sad.My Nephew's best friend did exactly the same thing when he was 15.
It is just tragic when this happens to such young people
:-(
Poor Bramble ,his time was up :-(..But he will have had a great life Liz <3 .I recall people with the stables down the lane burying one of their beloved horses in the field.
On this cheerful note :-S I will say night night night now.
I just know I will be woken at a ridiculously early time by Thomas so will get as much beauty sleep as I can in :-D :-D

David Report 27 Oct 2015 21:35

Nearly there petal, Mary and Peter spent part of their holiday on their uncle

Roberts farm, or words to that that effect.

No, I haven't received a message from you I've checked PM and GMX

I hope you're not damage Mel, how did you do that <3 :

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 27 Oct 2015 22:10

O Liz thats awful losing your horse after years of friendship and love.

What a shock about the 15 year old. What is the world coming to? So many young lives coming to a very abrupt end before they have even lived. <3

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 27 Oct 2015 22:16

David I did it just using my fork to cut up my spaghetti. The forks have squareish handles and I caught it on the pointy bit and it itched so I had a good scratch and that may have broken the vein? I don't know really.

Frank Report 27 Oct 2015 22:19

Well as usual, I go for a pint and a match, and you lot "RABBIT" on like Sainsbury's.

Bad news about the horse Liz. I am really sorry to hear About the young lad committing suicide. What must have been going on in the poor lads head ??

I have never ever been able to speak any other language but English, and I am not that good at that. COCKNEY LAD that I am, but proud of it. !!

I took some chew sticks to the pub tonight, and four of the local dogs were pulling on their leads to get to me. All of them had TWO each. When they left they still pulled towards me, to say goodnight. I said there will be more next time I am in.

Jane I hope you get a nights sleep before that lovely little cat wakes you up :-D :-D :-D

Ann, that will teach you to "STRICK WHILE THE IRON IS HOT" another old saying. You will have to keerp your eyes open for some more.

I have put Ros's machine on a free advert site. Will see how it goes before advertising it on eBay. Ros is going to put postcards on the village notice boards, and mention it at the next "Stitchery Do"

You lot are so "POSH" talking French !!!

See you in the morning.

I earlier mentioned Chief Constable Sue Simm having been on the hospital ward I was in. She was visiting one of her who had been injured.

What large woman she is a six footer I'd guess. She retired earlier this year and I

noticed she was 65. Well if she had been 35 years in the force that made her 35 years of age when she joined.. That's older than the average recruit.

I wonder what she was doing in the previous years?

David

David Report 28 Oct 2015 07:38

I whole heartedly hope it's nothing serious Mel. My lower left tibia and foot goes blue

when I've stood on it for even a short while, the colour emphasised by the normal colour of the opposite leg, Doesn't look normal. Some thing not put back together correctly?? That and the knees being fixed in the straight position is the reason I put an unsuccessful claim in
: :-S

Morning All

What rain !!!!!! I am going to stay in bed and read I think. The cat is not amused.I did open the back door for him at 5.30 but he just sat on the mat looking out at the rain.He keeps mooching around now being a pain :-S

David maybe you could Google the ex Chief Inspector and see if says anything about her previous life before the Police.

Just enjoying my first cuppa. It's always the best one of the day :-D :-D

Morning all and evening Kim,

Sorry you have the rain Jane. Poet and don't know it! We have beautiful SUNSHINE here it is so bright shining through the windows in the back but more impostantly on the solar panels.

Must get some washing in and hope it dries today.

Frank

Frank Report 28 Oct 2015 10:17

Morning you lot, Evening Kim,

Trust you to get the sunshine Mel. It'd horrible here, just rain and cloud.

I know why I can't download my photo's. The card is FULL. I have just ordered a new one only £4.50 on eBay for 8 gb. Ann will know what that means is it gigga bites ???

Good old Thomas, showing his true colours, and getting you up at a reasonable hour. I was awake, I could have let him out for you :-D :-D :-D.

I had a very restless night last night, the number of dreams I had, there were fights, empting flower pots, Laying Carpets. It just seemed to go on. Most of course you forget !!!

You are early birds, David and Mel, I won't say Jane is as she's still in BED. :-D :-D

Carolyn has been on the phone this morning. John had a bad night with his replacement knee, I wonder if he is trying to do too much too soon. I don't know how long it takes to be alright. DO YOU ??? She wants Ros to go out with her again this morning to sort out a carpet for her kitchen that's being revamped. It seems she relies on Ros a lot for her opinion on things :-( :-( Even when it comes to colour of cloths. Carolyn loves GREENS and BROWNS, and Ros hates them and keeps trying to get her to wear brighter colours. It's a real laugh being a battle of wits.

David if the C C was 65 and joined when she was 35 and has been in the force since she was 35. THAT makes her SEVENTY. Thought I would just mention it :-D :-D :-D

Sky looks like it's brightening from the west. THANKS MEL !!!!

Morning all

Another dull day here, cold but so far dry.

I was so busy yesterday I never got a chance to get back on here. You've all been very chatty and some in French too ;-) ;-)

Sorry to hear about the horse Liz and the poor boy. 15 is such a young age :-(

5.30 is early Jane, you must be so tired since you got Thomas and then he didn't even go out because of the rain. Do you manage to catch up on your sleep during the day? You must feel like a zombie :-( :-(

Hope your finger is feeling a bit better today Mel

Another restless night Frank, you'll end up feeling like a zombie too at this rate ;-).
It sounds like you really enjoy seeing the dogs down the pub and they certainly enjoy seeing you too. Sorry to hear John has had a bad night with his replacement knee, maybe you're right and he's doing to much to soon, he should rest up for a while and give it a chance to heal.

My boiler is just complete dead David, no power or anything, I mentioned this to the woman on the phone and she said is sounds like we'll get a new one, we've just got to wait until it's our turn for it to be put in. The surveyor has to come first, he's arriving next Tuesday then the grant needs to be applied for and then it'll be booked in to be replaced. All in all in should take around 5 weeks max until we have hot water and central heating again, so by December we should be back on track......well, hopefully anyway :-S :-S I just hope it doesn't get to cold between now and then.

I got a message this morning off a Genes member in reply to one I sent him and I'd make a mistake on my tree. Luckily the woman I got wrong was his aunty so now It's been corrected. We both had the same name for this lady but I got her marriage wrong, that'll teach me not to get all the certificates of proof. At least it's correct now I've taken the husband and children away. Although I haven't got a clue now who she did marry :-S

I'm hoping to finish off the hem on the dress I want to wear to the party today. Each time I try to do it the phone goes with another viewing, let's hope I have more luck today and I can finally get it done.

The Agent for the property we viewed the other day rang me yesterday for my feedback and didn't know what to say when I said we weren't going to get into a bidding war. I don't think he's heard that before and went really quiet on the phone. But properties are only worth what the buyer is willing to pay for them and we're not going to pay over the odds for it.

They've already had 4 offers made so far and when we went to view it they'd set up another viewing at the same time as ours with another couple. I think they do it to make people put in higher offers, but we don't like to be forced to put in a higher offer than we have decided on, so it didn't work with us. I did say that we would be back in touch if we find another property they have that we might be interested in and I was polite when I spoke to him, there's no need to offend people is there?

Going to get a hot drink now, I'm freezing, so I'm hoping it might warm me up a bit. I'm still under the blanket with a hot water bottle on the sofa. Hope it doesn't get to much colder.
See you all later <3

Jane Report 28 Oct 2015 11:48

Lucky you Mel my washing is in the T Drier.Although I think it might have finally stopped raining now.

Frank ,how long now since John's new knee?He will have been told what excercises and how much to walk.Is he one who wants t orun before he can walk??
I know my Sister had tremendous pain with hers but then hers didn't go well and it will never be quite right. She was just one of the unlucky few.Make sure he takes all his pain relief regularly .That is important.

Chris has the fruit soaking now ready for the Xmas Cake.I am just doing some Parsnip and Carrot mash for tonight and then I think I might go to TKMax /Next etc and see if I can get ideas for Xmas Presents. Also Chris said I am annoying him this morning so I might as well clear off for a couple of hours :-D :-D I think he is just in one of those today :-P :-)

Thank you drawing my attention to that Frank, sorry for confusing the readers.

It will get colder Gill, guaranteed. Can you hire a couple of those portable propane

gas heaters until the job's done and claim on your insurance?
