Good day all not posted for a few days, will get back to it asap, as I enjoy readingwhats going on. We have just sold our home and intend to move to Wales. We have lived here for 25 years, but we need to find our final house somewhere quite near the sea and a bit smaller than the one we live in now. I had forgotten how stressful moving is, and what you can colect in 25 years. We still have all the childrens papers from school and all the card they've sent us over the years. I think they will be coming with us, that'll take up a couple of boxes lol but worth it. Back soon. Be safe and healthy. Regards Harry :-) :-(

It was pouring down when I got up at seven but the sun is out at the moment. Amy had a short walk earlier and seems to be improving gradually as the vet said she would which is a big relief.
Sorry to hear about Bramble the horse and the young boy of 15 how tragic.
Jane does Chris always make the Christmas cake ? I haven't made one for a long time as we never finished it.
Gill I hope you soon get your new boiler, could you be lent some more heaters while you wait ?
Paul took Abbie to Fright Night at Thorpe Park yesterday evening, Becky didn't want to go, she is going to a Comedy festival at Brighton at the weekend instead, Pauls friend Sam and her daughter are going plus Richard and a couple of others.
Frank have you thought of going to a chiropodist for your toe nails, I see one every six weeks as I'm diabetic I have to be careful of any damage to my feet.
Good luck with your move Harry I hope you soon find what you need in Wales
Off to get some soup for lunch now

Harry, I hope you meant the children's papers and not the CHILDREN going with you. :-D :-D :-D I think you would need a few more box's. Have you decided on what area you are likely to move to. ?? I liked the Saundersfoot/Tenby Area. Very nice san
dy beaches and Tenby is a lovely town. I expect the more popular holiday spots will be more expensive. You will also have to contend with all the "Holiday Makers" Perhaps a little village away from the main attraction would be quieter and less expensive. Hope you find somewhere you like
DPD arrived this morning. The bell rang, and as I got to the door she was going up the drive with the packet. I said "Give me chance to get to the door, before running off" she said she was just going to get the other parcel. :-0 :-0 :-0 Did I feel a twerp or what ??? It was Ros's new sewing machine, I will leave it for her to unpack because IT IS HER CHRISTMAS PRESENT. :-D :-D :-D
The clouds have cleared now, and the sun is trying to break through. THANKS MEL <3 <3 <3
Been sitting reading, my eyes started to shut so I thought I had better keep myself busy, so came on here.
Gill, I suppose FIVE weeks isn't that long, providing it doesn't get any longer. With Christmas looming, it could stretch into the new year. You will have to keep chasing them, as I am sure you will.
Madam was only going to be an hour or so. That was at 10.45.am Gawd knows when they will be back. I will go and get a bit of lunch for myself, and she can get something when she gets home.
Stir Fry tonight, so nothing for me to do.
See you later.

Hello all, I loved the poem this morning Frank - it was all true.
Your new garden seat is lovely Jane. I especially like the colour.
We've had rain for the past two days, but that is quite a novelty here. We're getting the tail end of the hurricane that hit Mexico.
My hubby had a horrible time with his knee replacement. He constantly had it packed with ice, but most people seem to come through it with flying colours.
Thankyou all for your kind comments about my pumpkin costume effort. :-D I should have thought and taken my glasses off. They are prescription with a tint against the sun. We had a lot of fun at the party. They had hired a lady who does birthday parties and she was dressed as (can't remember the name) :-S, but she is from the'Frozen' story and wore a beautiful blue dress. My grand-daughter was also dressed as the same character, and they sang THE song together....... "Let it go, let it go". They played games and she read her story to them. They have all seen the movie of course and listened intently. I don't have everyone's e-mail address so I know I couldn't send to Liz or to Anne from Kent.
My maternal grandmother was from near Ashford Anne, and she requested that her ashes be returned there and strewn over a copse where she had played as a child. Apparently she and her family went hop picking too.
I must think about making my Christmas cake too, but first I have to search for currants. We don't see them very often.

Hi Ruby If you get stuck for currents. We can always send some over. OR you could go where there are rabbits, and collect their "CURRENTS" that's what we called them as children lol
That's two knee troubles I have heard today. Do you wonder why I keep putting mine off ;-) ;-) ;-)
Anne, that's good news that Amy had a walk this morning with no trouble. Lets hope it continues.
How did you get on at the theatre Fiona. Ros went to see it in Northampton with Carolyn and they both FEEL ASLEEP. I didn't like to mention that before you went <3 <3
The sun is so bright here now, I have had to draw the back curtains, you can't look out the back !!!
Didn't get round to clearing the back lawn, as it's so wet from all the rain last night and this morning.
Madam has just arrived home 3.30 pm If that's only an hour or so , I don't know what is ?? :-D :-D :-D :-D
She has unpacked the machine. The next step will be to try it out. She has a bag of accessories and an extended work surface that the machine fits on. Hope we have enough space for it. ;-) ;-) ;-)
One of the lads down the pub is getting married on Saturday. Ros has bought a wedding card for me to give to him. He should be in the pub tonight as Liverpool are playing.
Cup of tea just coming in, so she has her uses <3 <3 <3 <3 Only Joking !!!

Ironing.............................................
Why don't you get currants Ruby?? You could use mixed fruit as that should have some currants init. I only use mixed fruit for mine and add cherries and walnuts extra. Last year I used a mixed fruit with pinapple in it but I did'nt think it was the same so this year I shall just use the ordinary mixed fruit and add my bits too. Mine its a boiled cake and so easy to do. If anyone wants the recipe pm me as I don't share it with everyone. I make it for a harvest cake to and to raffle for the bell fund.

The party sounds wonderful Ruby and lots of fun for the little ones.
So now you've got to look for somewhere else to live Harry? I find that quite exciting and love moving, but then I have done it a lot over the years.....I'm one of those people who can't really settle in one house for to long, once I've done it up I want to start another one.....Maybe I should be an interior designer. Now that would be my dream job :-D :-D
Glad to hear Amy is on the mend now Anne, it must of been such a worry for you and not very pleasant for Amy either, the poor little thing.
I've finally finished hemming my dress and I've wrapped the present up and written out the card, so I'm all ready for the party now. I'm really looking forward to it, I can't remember the last time I had a night out, I think it was about 8 years ago. We go to little places like the garden centre for the Christmas night, but I mean a proper night out where you can get dressed up, listen to music and have a drink. Sandra is so excited and has changed her mind on what she is going to wear quite a few times........bless her.
OH did his final exam yesterday but then the woman rang him to say she had missed a bit out so he's got to do that on 5th November, then wait for his results after that. He said it went ok, so he's hoping the last bit won't be to bad either.
I made an apple pie yesterday and two apple crumbles, I gave my mum one of the apple crumbles. She'd gone on holiday to the Isle of Wight last week with her friend, sister and BIL but took ill while she was away and spent most of the time in bed in the hotel, so I thought I'd make her one to cheer her up. When she saw it she burst into tears, (I marked out a love heart on the top) I think she cried because she thought her cancer had come back, with being ill when she was away, luckily it hasn't, it was something else will similar symptoms, so the crying was probably relief more than anything.
I think I'll have a piece of the apple pie with a cuppa, I fancy it now ;-) BBL

PARTY TIME :-D..Gill have a great time tonight.I bet you 2 girls will look smashing. What a pity some of the exam was missed out and now OH has to go and do a bit more :-S
So on the move soon then Harry. Will you rent a place until you find what you want.(you said you have just sold). It is a heck of a job moving.Just the thought of all the upheaval puts me off really.
I think this will be the 3rd or 4th Xmas Cake for Chris.I used to make them but they were never great and I often burnt the edges so I gave up and had bought ones for years. But I do think you can't beat a really good homemade one. It's strange how tastes change over the years.I used to hate Xmas cake, mince pies and Xmas Pudding. But now I can eat them all.Although I could give the pudding a miss.
I bet Ros will having a good try out on the new machine tonight Frank :-DThat arrived swiftly :-D I spotted a chap going back out the drive a while ago.So I went to investigate as the doorbell hadn't rung.he had only gone and left a parcel on the doorstep without knocking :-S :-S..That is so bad.I think it is a book for James from Amazon.Good job it wasn't raining.
I have 3 Pork Chops to cook on the hob with Apples,Red Onion ,Fresh Sage Leaves,Cider ,Creme Fraiche and Wholegrain Mustard..Trouble is these chops are like half a pig each !!!!!!!. HUGE.I just wonder how long they will take to cook right through.
Ruby I bet you love a bit of rain if it is a novelty LOL It must be so good for the garden. My Sister kept a massive bag of peas in the freezer for her knee.It must be 3 yrs now since her op.She still needs those peas at times :-S But my neighbour a few foors down had both knees replaced in her late 80's /early 90's and had no trouble at all.
Gill I hope your Mum is feeling much better now .it must have been horrible for her being ill on holiday and also having the worry about the return of Cancer.
Mel how is your finger now.It sounded horrible.
Must start these CHOPS now

Evening all, It's been a dark rainy day here ,hubby was rained off so we went out to lunch ,we went to our usual place where they do good portions but today it was a limited menu ,why i don't know ,hubby had Scampi chips and salad ,i had Quiche salad and new potatoes ,we both had a sweet and a drink ,when we got home i looked at the bill and they hadn't charged us for the two sweets ,i never noticed when we paid as we were talking to the lady on the till .
Son and DIL have taken little Lewis to the doctors as he has blisters on his hands and feet and has a temp, the doctor said he wasn't sure what it was ,hand foot and mouth is doing the round so he wondered if it might be that ,they now have to take him back in the morning and the doctor will give him a good examination then, he said there would be some medical students there tomorrow and it will be good for them to see Lewis too.
Hope you all enjoy your evening out Gill ,sounds as if Sandra is looking forward to it ,i wonder what outfit she decided to wear after trying on all her things :-D It was a shame some of the exam was missed out ,i'am sure OH will pass with flying colors . Hope your mum is feeling better ,it's not nice feeling poorly when your away from home .
I bet it's been smelling lovely in your kitchen today Jane with Chris baking the christmas cake , i don't know if i will make one this year it was ages before anyone touched the one i made last year and i only made a small one too . I thought you had to sign for parcels , fancy just leaving it like that !! you could say you haven't received it !!

Jane my finger has'nt given me any pain today but the blueness has travelled up and down the finger so whereas the middle bit between the joints was blue now the bits either side of that have some on too. It should be nearly gone by tomorrow.
I went down for our scripts today and was fourth in line to see the receptionist she saw two ladies then I had one lady infornt of me and she went. This was about 15 mins later and then a man came out from the docs and barged in front of me and took ages because he had registered with the practice. Anyway this was now 20 mins later and I got there in the end. Asked for mine and a little pack came out and I asked where was the E45 cream as thats in a great tub with a squirty top so I can wash my hands with it. Out came the man who does the scripts and said the E45 was in there. They had given me 50g instead of 500g. So now they have to get the big one in for me. On getting the E45 out I spied that the statin was'nt my usual kind and said I asked for the Teva ones as they have the days on them and the others makes don't agree with me. After a lot of nattering he took back the statin and said I would have to come back on Friday for my other things. Then I asked for oh's and they had none of his because he also has the Teva brand. They blamed it on the pc being upgraded to windows 8 or something. Such a lame excuse. By this time I had been dwn there 45 mins. Then I went up the church to put a rose I bought on mums stone. The gate to the church was open by the big house and when I went in the church the doors were open to the porch and the church and all the lights were on and I called out but there was nobody there. All the cards and things on the table where we sell cards and have a visitor book were in disarray and one of the fire extinguisher was on it sside on the floor. Went into the bell tower and the bell tower loft door was open when it should have been shut. Turned the light off in there and walked down the church and stood for a moment and heard a vioce and a young lad came in turned on the organ and started playing it, well bashing away at the notes. I shouted out "should you be doing that and he fled out the church forwith. I could hear him somewhere so walked out to see where he had gone and when I came back to the church he went in there again but saw me and came out again. I asked him if he was staying at the big house but he would'nt look at me and just lent against the wall. I turne dthe lights out and went away and called at the big house and asked if they had a boy staying there in a blue tracksuit and maroon hoody. Yes said a lady I will get his mum as he has Aspergis (sp) I had suspected it was something like that from the way he was acting but I told the lady the church was not a playground and then I came home.

Oh Mel ,I bet you felt a bit spooked in the church before you saw the boy.Did you think it was burglars. You certainly had a time at the Surgery !!!!.Hopefully you will get all the right things now.
Mandy it does sound like it might be Hand and Foot and Mouth that little Lewis has.Poor little mite :-( Yes the kitchen smells good but it is the dinner.Tomorrow it will the the smell of Christmas Cake. These humungous chops have taken ages to cook .I def won't be getting them that size again.I just need to heat up the Parsnip and Carrot mash and mashed potato .But I reckon we will not need much of the potato.Just the pork will fill us .
I expect Gill will either be on the way or at the party now.I hope she lets her hair down tonight (not literally ) and has a really lovely evening.
I think it will be an earlyish night for me tonight.Thomas is in and already asleep. :-S I was hoping he would have stayed out a bit longer tonight. So it might very well be another early 'waking' in the morning :-S

What a fright you must of had when you noticed there was someone in the church Mel, you were very brave, I probably would of just called the police and stayed out, you have to be so careful nowadays. Luckily you were okay. What a palaver at the doctors with your meds, hope they are sorted out soon.
Sorry to hear about Lewis Mandy, hope he's better soon.
How's Ros getting on with her new sewing machine Frank, has she worked it all out? They'll be no stopping her now..... earplugs at the ready Frank lol.
The party isn't until Saturday Jane, I just thought I would get the present and card sorted today and hem my dress incase we get more viewings. So I'm all ready for the weekend and really looking forward to it now, so is Sandra. I think she has finally decided on a dress, it's a sleeveless black dress with butterflies and flowers down one side in light green and pink, it's lovely and she looks great in it.
We got a call from the Estate Agent today to let us know that the man who viewed last week doesn't want a second viewing. We still haven't heard if the couple want a second viewing yet. To be honest with having no heating I'm quite relieved as the place would of been very cold and probably put them off.
I've been busy with my family tree most of the afternoon and nearly forgot dinner. I made a lasagne for me and Sandra had a meat pie, then of course we had another piece of apple pie yum yum.
Back to my tree now, I have two trees, so I'm just copying everything from one tree to the other one, then it's off to bed. So I'll say goodnight and see you all in the morning Night Night <3
