Afternoon all,
What a beautiful day it's been ,the sun has been shining all day and it's so mild too. We took a trip to the garden centre after lunch and looked round at all the christmas decorations , we went to see if we could buy one of those little long handled tub things with wheels ,we thought we could use it t pull the wood up in from the wood shed ,but they didn't have one so we'll have to look elsewhere .
Have a lovely time at the party tonight Gill i bet Sandra is getting excited , will we see a photo of you all dressed up ? Will there be a lot of people there ?
We have got the sweets ready in case the halloweners call :-D we never had any call last year so we'll see tonight .
Sorry to hear you've had another bad night Frank, doesn't help when you've some thing on your mind like the worry of not knowing how your brother is ,it might be an idea sending the card and doing as Anne suggested putting return to sender at least you would know if was still at that address .
So little Cas isn't so little any more having to move up a crate :-D she has certainly got a good home with you both and brought you so much pleasure hasn't she.

Afternoon Everyone
Anne I thought that was so funny ...A Withaney :-D :-D..Luckily we don't have any problem with our surname. If I am asked how to spell it I just say it is the same as the flower :-D
Gill, from what you said it doesn't seem likely that you will get an offer from that couple. I had a friend whose boiler needed replacing when they were selling and he knocked the price off the sale for what it would cost to replace. He wasn't prepared to put a new one in before moving out.The new buyer was happy with that arrangement. I bet you girls will look drop dead gorgeous tonight in your lovely dresses and Sandra with her hair all done :-D.I'm sure you will all have a great time at the party.
So Cas has a nice new crate then Liz.I bet she s stretched right out in it now :-D :-D
Frank I think that is a good idea to send a letter to your Brothers old address. You never know if he has moved then the people might just know where to forward any post on to.Try not to worry too much .There is nothing more you can do really. I bet you are having lots of snoozes again this afternoon after your bad night.
Ann.Was your bad night just a one off?.I thought you had been sleeping better just lately.Touch wood my nights have been quite good recently. If it wasn't for Thomas I might actually go right through. But that is never going to happen now.I am finding myself sometimes waking just before he comes in to say " GOOD MORNING". I am getting quite good at getting up grabbing my little torch and slipping out of bed without waking Chris. If he is disturbed ,then he is well away again by the time I come back to bed.
Liz it sounds like you are enjoying your bit of time to yourselfthis afternoon. :-DI have to admit I like a day now and again when it is just me here.I will have one next week when Chris goes to the NEC for some arty thing.
Hannah and the girls have been back to the house this morning to give it a last clean and have now handed the keys in.They just need their depsots back now.
The sun has been out here all afternoon and it has been lovely. But now the sun is going down you can feel it getting chillier.I doubt we will get any trick or treaters tonight. We never do as there are no children along here.BUT I have bought a bag of treat size Maltesers and Fudge fingers, just in case.If we have no knockers then I'm sure someone here will eat them LOL.it will be a nice evening though for any little ones going with parents for T or T ing..Know doubt the fireworks will start tonight too :-S I wonder how Thomas will react to them. Poor Chester would sit and cry and shiver and shake .I used to turn the TV up as loud as I could stand it but even that made no difference. How are Amy and the Cats with fireworks Anne? and what about Toby Mandy.I can't remember if he gets scared.
I need to find the lead for the laptop as i see I have a nearly dead battery.....BBL

Oh we posted together Jane :-D
Don't have to worry to much about the fire works with Toby has he is now quite deaf ,he would only really hear them if they were really close by ,last year a close neighbour let some off and he did hear those and couldn't settle but the ones far off he wouldn't hear now . Will you keep Thomas in on the fifth ? although they seem to let fire works off any time once they are in the shops ,i don't think they should sell them until the fifth then we wouldn't have them going off any time .

Mandy we posted at the same time there. I bought Chris one of those green mini pull along tipping trailers and he uses that for moving logs from the woodshed .It is just right for the job.
Ann I meant to say the rice pudding with Rose Water and the Orange Blossom is just very nice.I just put enough in to give it a hint of the taste. The Rose one tastes a bit like a mild Turkish Delight :-D..It is very rich though so a tiny dish is plenty for a serving.
I was at Tesco this morning and saw some of the worst parking I have ever seen !!!!!. I watched very surreptitiously as this lady took about 8 goes to get into a parking space .There were in fact 2 spaces so there was plenty of room, and even when she had finished the car was still squewiff :-S :-S ( I can't find the right spelling for that word)..I hope she does better on the roads !!!!

Evening All,
Not a bad day here, plenty of sun this afternoon and so mild again. :-) The trees seem to have dumped a lot of leaves overnight though.
Jane I think my mind was whirring the other night with potential increased costs for a Nursing Home for FIL if the house doesn't sell quickly to fund them. It's silly really as we could manage to bridge the gap. Parents cause so many worries don't they! I think I was also feeling a bit sad after seeing him too as he walked all the way with us to the door and was still waving through the window till we were out of sight. I think/hope the bad night was a one off though as I slept like a top last night once I dropped off. Sorry, Jane........but I detest Turkish Delight so that thought wouldn't tempt me!!! lol.
I hope Gill, her hubby and Sandra Have a good time at the party tonight and that there will be a pic for us to see. :-) I must look that film up as we have the True Christmas channel.
OH is getting back on form! While we were out this morning he was chuntering about everything, other drivers, queues etc and was getting on my nerves with being so cumudgeonly, so I said 'you seem to have 'irritable everything syndrome this morning'. With a cheeky grin he said, 'I think I've got irritable wife syndrome now'. lol He went 43 miles south to a match today. He met a man there he chatted to and it turned out the man was born near where OH was born in Warwickshire. They thought that was a coincidence and then he mentioned the village where his mother was born in Staffordshire............which was the same village where I was born!!! :-0
I'm curious about what you will be making Mel??? You are doing well with your present buying. OH still hasn't set up his satnav I got him last year or the dvd player he wanted the year before so gawd knows what I will get him this time. Maybe a book on not putting off till tomorrow what you can do today?
Mandy we have a Mackro about 2 miles away. I think OH could be a member now he's self employed so I'll get him to enquire. :-) I'm glad you made me think of that! :-) Yes, Christmas must be getting expensive for you now, but I bet it's worth it to see their happy little faces when they get their presents.
I had to chuckle at 'Withaney' too Anne. :-)

I posted this morning after I had been leaf clearing. I see it didn't go !!!
I used the leaf sucker of the stone chipping by the shed and pond I got quite a lot up. Then I got the mower out, set it on high so as to suck the leaves off the lawn. As I turned it on a PUFF of smoke came from underneath the mower. I checked all the plugs and fuses, but still dead. So a new mower is on the cards. I should have bought yours Ann. !!!
Tony rang and offered me a lift to the pub, it would have been rude to refuse, wouldn't it :-D :-D :-D So watched the match and had a couple of pints.
Been dozing this afternoon, so hope I sleep tonight.
I found a new doggy friend today. A black Scottie Dog. I will have to teach him not to "SNATCH" None of my others do. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Glad you all had a nice day today, and have a nice party tonight Gill. Not too much wine though. !!!
Not sure if we will have a Takeaway tonight neither of us feel hungry.

Frank I love little Scotty Dogs.Haven't seen one in years.Aren't they always black? Some dogs will always be snatchy when it comes to a treat :-D Is that the motor gone then on the mower? MORE EXPENSE :-S :-S
What is Mackro? Never heard of it :-S
James and Jess have had their dinner and have just gone out to someones birthday bash.So now it is time for Chris and Me to eat.My tummy is rumbling . But before eating I need to see if I can call Thomas in as I can hear fireworks :-S

Oh no Frank!! :-0 It doesn't sound promising if a puff of smoke came out. Might it be where the cable is connected........you've probably checked that though. We only charged £35 for the mower, but it was a flymo hover mower so I don't think you would have got your nice stripes with it. The chap who bought it had just moved house and his had packed up when he tried to start it too!
Jane, Makro is a cash and carry place for businesses. You have to be a member and have a customer card to shop there I think.
I'm off to bed now and to watch Strictly. I wonder what time Gill will get home :-0 lol.

I like Scotties too and they aren't as common as they were once are they. Did anyone see that dog on Dog Rescuers that played ball with himself? Trotted up steps, dropped his ball and ran down the steps fast to crouch and wait for his ball to bounce down and catch it!!

Diane my SIL has a little black Scottie named Angus he has lovely twinkly dark brown eyes. One of my friends has a white Westie [west highland white] and very much the same to look at.
We Only had about six lots of Trick or Treaters I have a lot left over so I will give some to the kids next door, they came earlier and their Mum always dresses them up for the evening., Abbie & Becky can have the rest.
The cats are scared of the bangs although there weren't many this evening and then came from a distance. Amy takes no notice, none of our boxers were worried at all,
Hope everyone has a good nights sleep.

I hope Gill and Co ltd have a great night out together.
Gill you need to know when your garage was built as oh said it could be a cement roofing on the garage as that looks like asbestos as its made with fibre and cement. He also said that if it is asbestos it is quite safe unless it is broken up. It costs a lot to have it removed by specalist people and only they are aloud to do it.
Anne I had to laugh at the name you were given. Years ago my SIL lived in one of mum and dad's flats above me. She sent a Christmas card to Mr and Mrs Annabuss. We did laugh as she left the H off. We always got strange spellings of our surname.
I hav'nt seen a Scottie dog for years either. I think you can get a marle colour in those too.
Ann I have been trying to get oh a XXXL toweling bath robe but can't find one anywhere. He tried one on is Dunelm which was supposed to be a XXL but that did'nt go round him!!!!!!!!!!! The one he has I bought him years ago in M&S and that still goes round him .....just but he does need a new one. They all seem to be fleece type ones but he like to put it on after a shower and the fleecy ones son't soak up the water.
Forgot to say I am glad Sandra liked her card, bookmark and stickers Gill. I thought of her the minuet I saw them. I hope she gets to make her snowman this year.x
MORE EXPENSE then Frank with your mower smoking. It dos'nt run on a rubber band does it? I had one that smoked and it was the band that drove the blades that used to go and that smoked when it slipped.
Hope little Lewis soon gets better as it must be uncomfortable for him.
Signing out now so saying night night.

Provided the firm concerned is recognised for that particular job of removing asbestos, they will be allowed to do the work without any problems, but you do have to be absolutely sure of this before giving the go ahead. Let's hope it's a different material, then at least Gill, you'll be able to tell people when and if they ask. Another lovely day here, OH is clearing up a load of leaves, before doing Merlin's field. After that we shall have our final bonfire of the year. Beef for lunch, with roast spuds, and new carrots, for a pudding, plum crumble! Have washed the towels and the duvet cover, so better get them hung out!

Morning to all my dear friends, and Evening Kim.
What a wonderful morning to wake up to Bright blue skies and hardly a breeze.
Roast beef for us also Liz, Roast spuds, Parsnips, Runners, carrot, cauliflower and sprouts., Yorkshire pudding as usual.
Ros has continued where I left off yesterday, hovering up the leaves. I did go down in my shorts and rake a lot up and put them in a barrel, where they can rot down for leaf mould. The tree still has a massive amount to come off. So the job isn't ended.
The black scottie at the pub is the first black one I have seen in ages. We do have two in the village but white.
Another dicky night last night. Several visits to my White Friend. I must stop eating spicy foods. There just do not agree with me. :-D :-D :-D
We have a PUMPKIN poster in our local Round and about If you want trick and treater's you leave it in the window.. We didn't put it out as we have had LARGE TEENAGERS knocking in the passed. But last night FOUR young children rang the bell. Their mother stood at the top of the drive. I pointed out that we hadn't put the poster in the window, but, as they were so polite and in such nice costumes, I gave them a large bag of treats, so share out when they got home. The parent apologised for disturbing us. Which I thought was very nice.
How did the party go Gill, I hope Sandra enjoyed herself. !!
I had a good laugh at my LEWIS. This week he is off Collage so is working with his dad for £50.00 a day. For a 17 year old I think that great. Anyway, Lewis had been using his Dads secatures (sp) and when Harvey asked where they were. He said "I put them on the Truck Bumper" unbeknown to Harvey, Harvey had been to get some materials, and they must have fallen off. He has had them for 25 years and uses them all the time. He told Lewis he would have to buy him some new ones. His very quick reply was "WHAT ABOUT DEPRECIATION" over 25 years. "THAT'S MY BOY" :-D :-D :-D
No Mel, it's electric and goes straight to the mains via a trip switch..
Ann A flymo wouldn't do the trick for me. As you know I like to see the lines in my lawn. I am bidding on one at the moment, It's a good job I don't need one quickly, as it will only sit in the Garage until Spring.
I am going to get showered now and have a nice shave (which I need by looking in the mirror)
Happy Birthday Ralph !!
See you later.

Afternoon All,
Frank I think I would be just the same with spicy or fatty food now. Best not to have too much of it especially late in the day if you don't want to suffer! I had to smile at your Lewis.........sounds like a chip off the old block!! lol.
We have been for a carvery lunch just down the road and they forgot to charge us for our teas so that was cheaper than we expected. I went to a painting exhibition of a local painting club in the next village this morning. A french girl had done some beautiful ones in oils and I put one of hers as my favourite on my voting slip, but there were so many different styles and materials used. There were nice cakes for sale too but I walked by those quickly as I didn't want to spoil my lunch!
Well, the sun is shining so I'll see if OH fancies a ride out somewhere before it goes. BBL.

Is it a physical illness or are fretting and worrying about your brother?

Afternoon Everyone.
What a beautiful day :-D :-D.It is so warm in the sun and nice to sit out.So many people in town this morning were in sleeveless tops ,even some little children.
Ann I was going to say too that Lewis is like a chip off the old block lol..He sounds witty just like your Gordon :-D..Frank I too have to be careful with some spicy foods other wise I have the trouble as you.
So Mel you are keeping us all in suspenders as to what you are trying to make !!!! I hope it turns out just as you want it to.
It is Roast Beef here too tonight :-D.I have in in cooking now.Chris dug some Parsnips so I have just peeled them with some Carrots and peeled the spuds .I'll sort the rest of the veg later.
Happy Birthday to your Brother David.Do you see him on his Birthday ar give him a ring? I can't remember now how far he is from you.
I'm sure there was something I wanted to say but its gone :-S
I wonder if Gill and Sandra are having a long lie in today :-D :-D Maybe just having nice lazy day after the party.
Mel have you looked on line for large towelling robes.I'm sure you will fing something there for OH.
Jess has got a stinker of a cold and James is feeling like he has one on the way.He has a banging headache and feels like poo.He has just gone off to the tip with a load of his rubbish which Chris insisted he did today as it has been hanging around for far too long.
Ooooh the smell of Roasting Beef is wafting through to the lounge :-D :-D.

OOO happy birthday Ralph.
Sun's out here now too. It came out not long after I posted.
Had our big breakfast but it was'nt as nice as usual as I had to buy some eggs. This time I bought them from Mole Valley but they were still extremly light in the yoke. I had our last one from earlier in the week so mine had a very dark yoke..........but I think that is the last for this year and now I have to wait until about February for some REAL eggs again.
Jane I have looked online and found one at M&S but they were out of his size. There must be other big men in the world who want a toweling robe so why don't lots of places make that size????????????????????????
A neighbours daughter died on Wednesday. She was 30.

Sorry to hear about your Neighbours Daughter Mel...That is so young :-(
I have been looking for you on line but most Towelling Robes go to XXL.Keep trying with the M&S one and hopefully they will get more in stock.I bet they will before Xmas.
Ann that local art exhibition sounded interesting. I see there is one at the Castle Theatre in Wellinborough soon of local artists.I must tell Chris and see if he is interested in going. You were good to manage to walk past those cakes :-D :-D.You were quite right not to want to spoil your appitite before the Carvery.
I know what I was going to say earlier......I went to Pets at Home to get a food mat for Thomas (he keeps dragging bits of food out of his dish onto the floor :-S) Dirty Boy :-S
I was so shocked to see so many Cat toys,Costumes and Harnesses !!!!!.Toys I get ,but Harnesses with Diamante ,Hoodies on a Harness, all sorts.I think it is crazy !!!!! There was a couple there with a teeny weeny little Chewawa (SORRY I know that is wrong LOL) But it sounds right :-D..The little thing was only weeks old and was having his first collar fitted. He was called Chico and was so sweet.I am not a fan of miniature dogs really but this one was a real cutie :-D.He wriggled and squirmed when the assistant was trying to fit the collar. It was hillarious to watch.
My Oven is pinging ,so the Beef is done.Must go and drain off the juices.
