The fog is so thick this morning.it cold be a tricky journey for James driving to Oakham for work.I reckon he will have to leave home a bit earlier than normal.

This ceral I have is going to take a while to get through .It's very chewy.Granola with fruit and Nuts.I haven't had it before and am not sure I will again.

Morning all and evening Kim,

Really misty, foggy start but the old yellow thing is now up in the sky so it's now a lovely day.

Been down to our little man to pick up oh as his car went in today for a new heater. He can't use it in the winter as it mists up so Stuart is going to have a look at it for him.

Must get my washing on the line.

Have posted Jan and Graham's card so they should have that tomorrow with any luck.

Jane

Jane Report 2 Nov 2015 11:31

I don't think the fog is going to be clearing here anytime soon.If anything it is worse now %3A-S
Poor Chris is going to be stuck in Northampton at the garage until after lunch as there is a bit of work to be done %3A-S %3A-S..It is James's car.

No Gill yet.I hope all is well .

Frank Report 2 Nov 2015 12:47

I will try again . Good Afternoon all,

Can't get going this morning. Having lost a long posting. My Emails won't open. It's thick fog, and I'm in a filthy mood.

David I think you may remember I had a STROKE in March 2004. It left me weak down my right side and affected my brain on the left side. It's left me with a lot of depression, anger, frustration. You name IT. !!! I get so fed up with myself, and take it out on my poor wife. Plus I had keyhole surgery on my left knee a few years ago, and that's getting worse. I should have my knee replaced, but keep putting it off. I don't know how you manage with all your trouble. %3B-%29 %3B-%29

Our friend John who had his knee replaced last week, was back at the hospital last Friday to see the surgeon. He rolled up his trousers and the first question was "WHER'S YOU STOCKING" and why are you only on one STICK. You are suppose to keep that on for SIX WEEKS not six hours !! She told him in no uncertain words what he should and should not be doing. He replied in his usual BAD MANNERS "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TALKIING TOO" She was none to pleased as you can imagine. What will be the outcome I do not know. She also asked why he was not using his pain killers like he was prescribed. His reply was "I only take them when I am in pain" That's not the idea she said. YOU take them to stop the pain building up. !!!

I see there are a few tales going around about the Ghosts. Here's one my Mother told us about when I was really young. Her brother got stabbed in a room where they lived in the late 1800s. The floorboards were scrubbed white where the blood stain was. BUT every year on the anniversary the blood stain would show again on the floorboards.. Lets move on %3A-0 %3A-0 %3A-0

I have Venison steaks out from the freezer for tonight. I can only follow the instructions, as I have never cooked them before. With them I am doing a mushroom sauce (packet suggestion) and Mediterranean roasted vegetables with Potato wedges sprinkled with spices. Very adventurous for me. So will let you know how it turns out. What a change from when we were kids. (COLD MEAT AND CHIPS) !!

Madam is beavering away at these baby quilts. She did 3 yesterday and has 5 more to do. The new machine is earning it's keep already. %3A-D %3A-D %3A-D

Not the best type of morning to be out driving. When I think when I was on the road years ago I was doing 60,000 miles a year in all weathers and never gave it a thought. Hope Chris got home alright.

I put an offer in yesterday on a mower, and the offer was refused. This morning I see the offer has been accepted, and I have found another. So have told the seller to take if my sale list forthwith. or I will open a dispute with Ebay.

WELL I SEE "BUGGER LUGS" IS BACK WITH US. LETS HOPE YOU HAVE SORTED IT NOW. KEEP IN TOUCH.

Would you believe the sun is out, and it looks a nice morning out there. I feel better all ready.

Very unusual that Lewis didn't ring us last night, to report on his football. Ros does look forward to chatting with him every week. We try not to bother him during the week as he has so much studying to do. I will have to have words with him !!!

Well time for a bit of lunch, I skipped breakfast again this morning. NAUGHTY BOY !!!!

Just going to make our lunch. 3 lots of washing on the line and the sun is still shining and there's a breeze now and then so hopefully it will dry.

Glad the suns come out for you Frank it always makes you feel better when it shines.

There again it also shows up all the dust. %3A-%28

A stroke's a serious problem at any age Frank. No doubt it makes you aware

of many things you took for granted.2004 is a while back. It was perhaps about the time I first made acquaintance of GR

I know the immobility brought about by my avoidable accident has slowed me down.
And no artificial knee or prosthetic limb ahead.
I can't even successfully put acclaim in. Some details absent in the records.
Am I complaining? I hope not, I'm stuck with it. Had it happened when I was younger it might be harder to bear. I probably sound like I'm repeating myself..
I really should try and get a car that will accommodate my impediment.

I hope everyone and theirs are well. %26lt%3B3 %26lt%3B3

We're all fine in this house David on this very murky afternoon! I've been clearing up fallen leaves this morning and removing the rest of the runner beans. OH had to go and get a bit for his ride on mower, and then go to Tesco's (I did him a list!!) So I had another hour or two on my own %3A-D. He's back now with the bit and the shopping!
I'm starting a project this winter!! I want to research in depth all aspects of Tudor England, followed by the union of the crown! Should keep me occupied for week or two!!
I've had to renew my driving licence again!! It's every three years now, talk about making you feel ancient!!!

Good Afternoon to the walking wounded and everyone else

The Tudor period is my favourite part in History. Margaret Boleyn, Anne's aunt was my Husband's 14th great grandmother. I enjoy reading Philippa Gregory's books about this period although fiction the historical facts are all correct.

The chiropodist has just been, she is having a hard time, her husband has MS and her grown up daughter has Downs syndrome. She is a lovely lady and works so hard to keep everyone happy.

I also was thinking no Gill hope she is ok after her night out.

It's still foggy here and quite cold not worth pegging any washing out.

DVLA recently renewed my driver's licence having reached 70

I sympathise with your friend's pain Frank or should I say empathise?

At the time of my injury the paramedics had me on morphine , 3 shots of it before they picked me off my lawn. They tried to remove my boot I passed out on them twice.
I was on gas and air before they stretchered me to the ambulance. While hospitalised
I was regularly on morphine, day and night. Then I was put on an assortment of pain killing tablets. Eventually I left them. The nurse chastised me I said they've made me constipated. If I've got to choose between a bit of pain or a censored I'd rather have a good censored. I bet that went in my records.

Well the FOG has returned with a vengeance. It's thicker now than this morning. I hope all those who are having to drive this evening do so with great care. I see the A 14 had a nasty accident this morning, which affected many roads. I hope James will be alright driving from Oakham. That road can be dodgy at the best of timers. !!

Ros has just relayed a nice little story. Those blankets the women make for the hospitalized children. LINUS the place she goes to make them and collect more material., have had letters from a group of children THANKING THEM for making the blankets. So they are not all babies as she first thought, but what nice children to take the time to do so. Bless them !!!

Liz between Saturday and Sunday Ros and I have cleared all our leaves for the time being, loads more to come off the cherry tree. You have been lucky if you have still been getting runners. Ours finished a few weeks ago. That is some hard work that you are going to undertake Liz, but should be so enjoyable to uncover all the history. You will have to keep in touch with Anne, who looks like she could be interested too. My Ex was very interested in Henry the eight period, and studied it in further education. Me being me, have never been interested in history other than the 1st and 2nd war. and I don't know that much about them either. lol

It's bin day tomorrow. It's one of the only times I can remember that the Green bin is going out almost empty. Two weeks ago I was begging space in three neighbours bins to get rid of all the grass's and apple tree cuttings.

Football on SKY tonight, I wonder if Tony will chance taking the car down. I will walk down to get a bit of exercise . If he's not there, I will walk back again. We will see.

Ros is still machining like mad. Has been at it most of the afternoon. She has made another THREE so only two to go.

I don't have to worry about DVLA I gave up my licence when I had my stroke. I renewed Ros's this year as she approached 70. So that's her sorted for another three years. Lets hope I will be here to renew it again when it becomes due. !!! %3B-%29 %3B-%29 %3B-%29

Might get back before bedtime.

Where is Gill today. I hope everything is alright up there. %26lt%3B3 %26lt%3B3

Evening All,

The fog never cleared all day here so it's been dull and murky. %3A-S We went to the farm shop this morning and I got some pork fillet to do some somerset pork this week. I never noticed the use by date was tomorrow so it looks like I will have to cook it then, even if we have it the following day. At least I got the onions, apples, mushrooms and creme fraiche as well so have all the ingredients. Afterwards we went to get our free turkey in Tescos with a coupon we got from the Mail, but I hadn't noticed the coupon has a start date on Wednesday so will have to go back then! Its a Bernard Matthews small one but very welcome for free! %3A-%29 OH came with me in my car and on the way back a lorry had discovered it couldn't get under a low bridge. It was trying to turn round in all the traffic and also avoid those traffic calming chicanes in the road. OH was getting fed up waiting as he had a meeting this afternoon so I turned round to go home another way and then got held up by roadworks!! lol.

FIL was ill in the night and the doctor thinks he has a water infection, so he's been put on antibiotics and seems ok now.

Some of those who viewed the house didn't want to pay the asking price but a builder is pricing up what he would do with it and is still interested. There are also another 5 viewings booked, so that's 11 in the first week it has been on the market which is encouraging. %3A-%29

I've done that before Frank and lost my posting! If only a little message would appear that said 'Are you Sure?' and you could click 'yes' or 'no before it disappears. It's good Ros is getting used to the machine with all this sewing and how nice the children sent a thank you letter.

Our runners finished weeks ago, but I think Mandy said a few days ago that she thought she had another picking left. I still need to do some more tidying up in the garden for winter. The pretty pink michaelmas daisies are finished and need cutting back now and there's more pruning needs doing. We get toadstooly things growing in the gravel on the front this time of the year but OH hoofs those out.

Yes, where's Gill? I hope it isn't the after effects of the party? Maybe it's trouble with the internet as I've found it a bit slow over the weekend.

Hello Kitty was waiting for us when we got back today and was very vocal and pleased to see us. His owners were out and I don't think he liked being out in the cold and damp. He seems to be a home cat that doesn't go very far.

Well I'd better go on ebay now to order some beads for Friday. These are tile beads I haven't used before to make a mosaic bracelet.
