David you have managed to come through 2 dreadful accidents. You must be a tough old cookie :-D
Mandy I did wonder about the number plate thing with Georgettes car. That happened to Chris a few years ago.Apparently he had been in Somerset and something happened.Luckily he had proof he was at a meeting in Northampton on the day and the time.I had my back number plate stolen once when I was parked in Sainsburys car park. Oh poor Lacey .Im sure the Impetigo will soon clear.
David, Shimmer or Shimms married our old friend on the thread 'William' He was posting on here when you first joined us.I keep in touch with them now and again.
Mandy I have never heard of the External Slop described by the weather man/lady !!!! What a weird expression !!!!!!..They seem to come up with all sorts of descriptions now. Just ,rain ,sun, cloud, and wind is good enough for me :-)

Jane, I've survived far more than 2 serious accidents over the last few years,
but I'd be boring the pants of you attempting to explain. Think I'll write a book about it only kidding, no one would believe most of it
I knew Shimmy Shimmer was a regular some time back, her postings were fun :-D

BIL was parked on the Homebase car park and the staff happened to be looking out the office window and saw a chap trying to undo the bit that holds the spare wheel under the car ,they put a call out in store for BIL's number plate and as they went out the chap ran off , he had undone the holder but hadn't managed to get the tyre down ,another few minutes and he would have done .
I bought two coats for christmas today for Katie and Lacey ,i couldn't resist them they are black with a little bit of sparkle on them and have little fur collars ,now i need to find some thing for Chelsea we like to treat them all the same .

Sorry to hear about Jess, Jane, it must of been awful for her and also the poor man, hope she is feeling a bit better now and over the shock of it all. Was there any CCTV around with it being close to the train station, they may get the registration of the car if there was?
The Coats sound lovely Mandy, it reminded me of when I bought coats for our two girls when they were about 3 and 5 years old. They were white with white fur around the hoods and they had lots of green and red flowers and leaves on them........very Christmasy :-) :-)
Sorry to hear you have lost one of the girls Mel, it does sound like a good idea to get some more though, then you'll have lots of lovely eggs to look forward too.
So you can't wait until the spring to use your new lawn mower then Frank LOL. Hope the journey isn't to far for you when you go to collect it and the weather is nice enough for you to use it when you get home.
The people for the boiler text me earlier to book in the next appointment for the EPC, this will determine how much, if anything, we might have to contribute to the grant they are letting us have. It's next Tuesday between 10.30 and 11.30. OH is going to see if he can swap his day off so he can be here with me. I'm not keen on being here on my own with a man I've never met. I had a bad experience with a plasterer once, so prefer to have OH with me now.
Has anyone seen the 1939 register that's just been opened on Find My Past? Apparently it's supposed to give all sorts of information. I tried to have a quick look earlier, but I've been so tired today, I haven't manage to check it out properly yet. I might take another look tomorrow if I feel a bit better and not so tired.

Good morning all
Shocking the cheek of some of these thieves. Some body might catch them.
Give them a clip now and it's aggravated assault or GBH don't let anyone see you doing it.
Shims must have had a name, which I can't recall. Does she pop in?

Morning all, Evening Kim.
Typical wet horrible morning here. Rain and wind. There are still plenty of leaves on the cherry tree though.
I can't recall SHIMMS. Was she busy on here like us lot ??? If she looks in, she might like to join us again.
Not good being a witness to a road accident, It all happens so fast, your poor brain can't seem to take it all in. Type of car colour etc. Lets hope they get him/her.
Number plates are so easily stolen from a car, without you noticing. Be honest, how often, IF EVER do we look to see if both Number plates are on the car ???
There was a very interesting information message for women on "FACEBOOK" yesterday. I am not sure if I shared it. It basically said ALWAYS lock your car at the petrol station. There was two incidents where the woman customer went to pay for her petrol and left her car open. The cashier was very observant and noticed a man getting into the rear door. She told the woman to stay put, and the police had been called. When they arrived and questioned the person, he said he had just joined a "GANG" and his initiation was to kidnap a woman so the GANG could RAPE HER. If she was still alive are the gang rape, they would release her. SO GIRLS LOCK YOUR CAR DOORS.
Liz you are very lucky to have a farm shop where you can buy meat. We don't have anywhere like that round here. Years ago the was an abattoir in the village that had a shop, so we were spoilt for choice.
Grand parents always seem to buy "WINTER COATS" for the grand children. My ex's did for my children and we did for my daughter three.
Mandy, you know my feeling about these people who try stealing anything. First offence remove a finger. Second a HAND. you watch how quickly those crimes would disappear from the streets. What gives these "SCUM" the right to take things that people have worked hard to get, and given up so many things to has a decent car or belongings.???
Good thing that Chris will be undercover today Jane, he wouldn't be enjoying one of his jaunts across the Countryside ;-) ;-) ;-)
Home alone today. It's "STITCHERY DO" in the Chapel. Then this evening it will be Choir Practise. So T.V. will be mine, to watch what I want.
Mel, Sorry to hear you have lost your old girl, perhaps a couple of youngsters would keep the egg supply coming.
The "KIPPERS" didn't smell the bungalow out. and as for the bones, you only have to lift the tail up, and the main bones come away, leaving the flesh of the kipper on the plate. Easy peasie ;-) ;-)
Right, I had better get on. I need my toast and my mate, then shower and shave. Then it will be book time for an hour or so,
See you all later.

Another dull but dry day here. I'm really cold, can't seem to get warm lately, I'll be glad when the new boiler goes in. I just hope the weather doesn't get any colder in the meantime.
Mum has just rang and persuaded me to go Christmas shopping with her, Sandra is coming too. I didn't really feel like going outside with being so cold but then thought the shops would be warmer than here and I'm feeling a lot better now most of the dizziness has gone, so that's my day planned.
Must go and get ready, she'll be here soon See you all later <3

Frank, A firm I worked for ages ago advised us to lock the car when leaving it to pay for fuel. I've always, done this, and still do as its so easy for someone to steal something out of it while you're busy at the kiosk, or hijack it when you return as you described. You really can't be too careful these days. Very wet and gloomy here, not too sure what we're up to today. A bit of research maybe! I don't recall anyone by the name of Shimms, David, and I've been on the thread since 2010! Maybe they were on another site?! Must empty the dishwasher and make a start!!!

Afternoon All,
Drismal weather here this morning. I shall pop to Tesco (free turkey) and Matalan in a mo while OH does his notes.
Frank I always lock my car wherever I leave it and however short a time. I never leave my bag in it to go and pay for fuel as no-one can see you haven't left your purse in it and just taken your card with you. I learned my lesson years ago when I left an empty plastic carrier bag on my passenger seat. It was a Saturday afternoon and the car was locked and parked on what seemed a safe busy street outside a factory shop in the city. When I came back to it after about 20 mins someone had smashed the passenger window to get to the empty carrier bag. With it not being completely folded flat they obviously thought there may be something worth pinching in it. With the job I did there was often visiting to do in some rum areas and properties and personal safety was paramount in our training. I never park in places that could be deserted or dark when I come back to my car on my own and always keep my eyes open and have my keys in my hand with the key unfolded ready to jab in an eye if needs be!! I look in the back of my car before I get in now as well as I've read before about these initiation ceremonies before and people hiding in your car. You can't be too careful!
Must toodle pip now so will catch up when I get back.

Well my advise seems to have got through to my "GIRLS". Thank goodness. I drum it into Ros all the time about where not to park, and take every precaution with safety when she's out on her own.
It's been reported in the passed, that Women in cars that stop at traffic lights, have had their passenger door ripped open and their bags stolen off the front seat.
Still a right old miserable day here, windy and raining still.
I have had a nice shower and a shave as soft as a baby's bum !!! Not a whisker anywhere. !!!
I bet Jane and Fitz are on the 2nd bottle by now. hic hic. You enjoy yourself Jane, have one for me. I will make do with a COT and a mince pie.
I ended up this morning with an Egg and Bacon Sandwich for breakfast. The egg was a bit disappointing as the white was like water and ran across the pan. They are Tesco Very Large Free Range. They need to feed the chickens something better.
Gill, it shouldn't be long now before you get the boiler sorted. During the day I have a halogen heater in the lounge, that you can turn on to keep the chill off, but saves having the Central Heating on. Very economical to run also, and not expensive to buy. I had mine for a couple of years.
I expect we will get bangs around tonight whatever the weather. I suppose we are lucky as there are not any young couples with children close by. But some of these fireworks make you jump a mile
How do you dog and cat owners manage with the noise local to you.?? Ours were always in the lounge with us and either the T.V. on or the radio. We tried never to leave them alone on these nights.
I can't believe it's only 2,30 pm and you needs the lights on in the place.
Stay warm all.

Back from Fitzs. That must have been the quickest lunch we have ever had LOL I reckon this person will be there now to question about what ever it is to do with Georgettes car .Fitz said he will ring this evening and give me the lowdown :-D
It is so dark here,it feels like early evening :-S.....I hope Gill and Sandra are enjoying their day Christmas Shopping :-D
That Fungi sounds interesting Mel.Hope you can get a good close up :-D
Back to locking cars.I have a car that just locks itself when I walk away with key.It gives a 'BEEP' when it locks and I always make sure I hear that before going off too far. I have heard of these men getting in the back of women's cars at petrol stations..That is just so scary .I think these days you just have to have your wits about you at all times ,and just be aware . I think I am going to put the kettle on and have a cup of tea.

Glad you are feeling a bit better Gill, it;s a sign you are on the mend.
That's true Jane, most cars do lock themselves these days don't they. I still like to do it with the key fob in my hand though in case it locks with the keys still inside the car and me outside it.
I seem to remember there being a spate of spare wheel thefts around here a few years ago Mandy, especially where they were slung underneath the vehicle. It's a good job they were spotted doing it as tyres and wheels aren't cheap!! The coats you got sound lovely with a bit of sparkle. The girls will like that. Just Chelsea's to find now then. That was a strange expression for the weather.
I've said this before I think but when I lived on my own I once had a letter from the police demanding I advise them who had been driving my car in I think it was Bristol or Bath a week before on a Sunday. I worried all weekend till I could ring them on the Monday as I hadn't even been out in my car the day in question, but being on my own all day couldn't prove it. It turned out that a witness to an accident had given my car reg. I didn't think they believed me so I asked what colour the car was supposed to be........black was the answer and my car then was white!! They must have got my address from DVLA and the colour of my car but I suppose it could have been resprayed black since I had it. I did wonder though what would have happened if my car was actually black!!! :-S I wonder if something like that with Georgette's car.
Speaking of cars, I went and had another look and have more or less decided, subject to a test drive in one, that it will be a Peugeot 208. The model I want is a high spec one (it would be wouldn't it!) that has many of the features I have on my current car like folding wing mirror,s an actual spare wheel, parking sensors, same acceleration etc. It also has some pluses,a 6th gear I like, is even more economical and is zero road tax. If I go to the place we got OH's car I can knock £4800 off the list price which is even better. :-) I would have considered another cabriolet, but they only do the folding metal roof ones in their bigger cars now. The garage said they'd had lots of enquiries from people wanting them as well. Another little car I really like too is the Mini Roadster with a hard top, but the acceleration (I don't need) and insurance are eye watering!!! :-0 Too much VROOM VROOM David. I've been invited to the hospital for a lunch and a presentation about the findings of the Diabetes Study I volunteered for this time last year by the student Joe who did it as part of his PhD. He's invited those of us who took part and promised there won't be any of the cheese croissants we had to have each day!! :-) It's on a beading day, but I shall just miss a week so I can go I think as I'm interested to hear what all the results were. We can bring a guest and OH was quite keen to come, but we both agreed we don't think many will as partners will be at work, so I shall go on my own on this occasion.
Mel, looking forward to pics of the Stag and fungi! How many can say they have had a stag laying in their garden! :-) Sorry you lost a hen, but she will have had a nice time with you. It's a good idea to get some more and hopefully increase the output of your lovely orange yolked eggs, which I remember very well. :-)

Evening all
Another dreary day here ,we had rain this morning but it has been dry this afternoon.
I'am always careful with my hand bag in the car i never lay it on the seat i always put it between the two front seats and i have even put the seat belt through the handle too. We do have a button on the dash board that you can press and it will lock all the doors ,also if your sitting in the car the boot won't open unless you open the drivers door ,many a time i have been in the car and hubby has wanted to put some thing in the boot and he has to shout for me to open my door so that opens the boot . I don't know how it works but it must be because the car ignition has been turned off but we haven't got out and locked the car ,when i sit in it some times waiting for hubby i hear a whirring noise as if its locking some thing .
Gill i hope you've enjoyed your christmas shopping day ,it will do you good to get out of the house for the day , i bet Sandra enjoyed it seeing all the christmas things in the shops .
I see your starting on the mince pies Frank :-D i bought a box this afternoon too , we'll be fed up with them by christmas but hubby spotted them so i bought them for him ,of course i shall have to try one just to make sure they taste ok ;-) :-D
Well it sounds a good job your car was white then Ann as you say what would you have done to prove it wasn't your car !! What a good saving on the price of the car Ann and no road tax either !!
I'm curious to know what the "incident " is about now ......nosey or what :-D :-D :-D
