Morning all

Just a quick post before I go to mum's.

Lovely and sunny here, the grass has dried out enough for OH to cut it. He's back to his usual self now, so will be going back to work tomorrow. We've got a busy day today and we're out tonight.

You sound a bit like Frank with all these mis-haps and falls David. You were lucky Ellen came in and helped. At least you didn't cough again for the rest of the night, I don't suppose you dared, after Ellen telling you off LOL.

Has your neighbour closed his patio doors yet Frank? I bet he was grateful at you leaving a message for him, although he should of checked everywhere was locked up before leaving the property, if he was broken into he wouldn't be covered by his insurance company.....silly man. Let's hope everything is ok and nothing bad happened.

We've just had a phone call off the agent wanting to book in another viewing, but when she mentioned the woman's name and after I asked her where she came from I realised it's the woman who books in viewings, doesn't turn up, and won't answer her phone to the agent for feedback, so I told the agent that she has booked in viewings to come here on a number of occasions with our other agents and never turned up.

The agent seemed very surprised, especially with her being under offer with them. This also surprised me and made me think that maybe it's a different woman with the same name from the same area. The agent told me that she has booked to view another property around the same time she wanted to view ours, so I said if she turns up to that one and answers her phone for the feedback then I'll do a viewing with her next week. The agent agreed with that, not that she had any choice, so now I'm just waiting to see what happens next.

OH and I were wondering if someone has been pretending to be her because they don't want her to move, so when she does want to view, people will remember her name and say no like we've just done. I couldn't do the viewing as I'm busy today and tomorrow, so it would of been next week I would of booked it in anyway....The joys of selling a property :-D :-D

Well, I'd better go and get dressed while OH cuts the grass, we're suppose to be at mum's in less than an hour.

If I can't get back on here today, enjoy yourselves in what ever you have planned and I'll see you all tomorrow <3

Morning all and evening Kim,

No sun here today just grey skies and wind and rain as usual. It only staye dout for a little while yesterday too.

Gill you call that a SHORT POST it takes me ages to read before posting.

Poor old David gettting stuck in the lavatory he was there from Monday to Saturday, nobody knew he was there.

Can't remember if I told you I lost another old chicken last week. I am now down to 4. Never been that low for years. I may have to see if there is anywhere round here I can buy a couple of point of lay hens. I don't like to get them from the market as I have had them before and they are usually the ones that have been sorted out as bad layers, or have funny traites like old Hitler we had once who goose stepped, his legs coming right up to his chest before he put it on the ground. It was quite funny to watch but he turned on me once and ran up my back so oh rung his neck as he was'nt having that happen to me every time I went in to feed them. He was a Buff Orpington and had 4 girls to look after. Oh had bought them for mum and they were seperate to mine in their own little house with a big run just the same as mine.

You know in a way I've been lucky :-S That accident in the bathroom, if Ellen had of been away for a few days, I could have died there

When I had that crippling accident in March 2013 if Ellen hadn't of come looking for her cat and found me on the lawn, I'd of turned to compost by now. :(

If I'd landed differently in that fall at the end of my bed, I could have broke my neck.

So, all things considered, I'm rather fortunate. :-S

Well I think you are extremly fortunate to have Ellen as without her you are a walking disaster. Three cheers for Ellen! Hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray..... <3

Afternoon all,

Late on parade today. Was up and showered by 8.30. Ros has gone out for the day to Walton-on-Thames. to see a tapestry with a mini bus load of "Stitchery Do" women.

Yesterday she was concerned that the down pipe from the roof might be blocked. So being a dutiful husband, I had a look at it this morning. I took the pipe down which is in THREE sections. Everything was fine and I even checked the soakaway. Putting all back was another matter. Whichever way I tried it wouldn't fit. You should have seen me up a pair of steps, hanging onto the outside light bracket, and trying to fit the pipe to the guttering with the other hand. Just didn't work, so I had to unclip the guttering, fit the down pipe and re-fit the down pipe sections. The wall bracket that holds the down pipe came away and pulled out the wall plugs. so there I am searching the garage for plugs to fit it again.

David I think we will re-name you to "CALAMITY JOE" The number of accidents you have had, you shouldn't be left alone for FIVE MINUTES :-D :-D :-D :-0 :-0 :-0 :-( :-( :-( ;-) ;-) ;-) :-S :-S :-S Poor old Ellen !!!

Poor Thomas Jane, that will teach him not to lick his flea treatment. We use to pull back the fur round the neck and put it straight onto the skin. Thankfully we never experienced any after effects. Give him a cuddle from me <3 <3

Yes Mel you did mention loosing one of the old girls, I did say you should look for replacements. Old "ADOLF" had me in stitches. I can just imagine him "GOOSE STEPPING" around the run. And as for running up your back. I can understand oh putting him down. With their claws they could do a lot of damage.

Hope you enjoy your evening out with the family Gill, and the lights and decorations are to everyone's liking.

Ros will be home about 5.30 this afternoon, then out to choir practise for 7.00 pm. So I will have dinner ready for 6.00 SHARPE. It will give her time to eat and freshen up before going out again.!!! So we won't have time to get into an argument today LOL

Have just had a Ham sandwich and a couple of small pork pies with a large coffee. So I'm set up for the afternoon.

Ann, you were busy yesterday, it's a wonder you didn't meet yourself coming backwards. :-D :-D :-D

In June, while visiting Conrad I had a number of insect bites. Believe it or not I am still pestered by an irritation on both legs. It's got to the point that I can feel lumps under my skin down both shins. I have used all manner of creams, and even covered them in flight stockings. I am at my wits end, so I am finally going to ring the doctor to see if he can tell me/treat me for whatever it is.

I agree Mel!! David, I think you are a bit accident prone to say the least!! Collected OH'S new trousers this morning as they needed shortening. They look very smart and should last a while; Hope so as they were very expensive!! After that, the pet shop for a bone for Cas, Waitrose for odds and ends, surgery for our pills, then home!!
This afternoon we're clearing up the remaining hedge clippings, collecting up the poles from the runner beans and putting them away.
Not sure that 'abigail' will affect us that much, but might be as well to check that everything is put away or tied down!!!

Afternoon All,

Hi Mandy <3 Nice to hear from you as we have all been feeling for you and hoping you are ok. Best to try and keep busy as you say and come on here to to hear a bit of us! :-)

Well David, what more can I say! You and Frank seem to be two of a kind!! Ellen and Ros seem to know how to deal with you both though and I can just picture Ellen tugging at your legs to get you out of what was a tight spot in more ways than one!!! lol.

I hope you have a good time tonight Gill. It sounds like you all will and I bet Sandra is excited already and looking forward to it. Yes, we accepted the offer and the couple are seeing about arranging a mortgage etc now and the house has a 'sold' sign up already! I just hope it all goes through ok without any hitches as until the contract is signed you just never know. We are hoping they will want it settled by Christmas but it may be early in the New Year. At least OH doesn't have to do the viewing this Sunday now and we have sent an appreciative letter to the gardener to let him know. I do hope you get some good news on your place soon and that they can get on with fitting your new boiler soon. When they did ours a few weeks ago they had to put in a new pipe through the wall so you may find you need to get your paintbrush out after yours is done.

Mel that is such a shame about the lady and must have been an awful shock for everyone. She sounds like she was a nice, kind person too. It makes you think you are so lucky to still be here yourself and that we should make the most of what we have to be thankful for in life. I had to chuckle at Hitler......what a good name for him!

I haven't done much today, I slept like a log last night and have only been to the paper shop, then to Sally's at the little garden centre and tearoom in the village. She's giving it up next year as she has started as a slimming club leader now and is doing really well. She lost quite a few stones in weight herself over the last 3 years so will have the pictures to show them it can be done. How she did it when she's cooking every day is beyond me. OH has gone off to a meeting now and I have been cleaning the bathroom and ensuite and dusting the main bedroom and hall :-S Next I need to sort beads for tomorrow's class and finish the last bit of a necklace for the teacher to photograph.

Frank Report 12 Nov 2015 16:21

Well the wind is getting up here, so have checked all the pots on the patio, as some are empty. The sky looks very "WILD" with lots of black clouds rushing across the sky.

I've had a nice quite day, and have just had forty winks yawn, yawn. Hope I sleep well tonight. !!

I must get Ros to do more jewellery work. I know she's very busy doing all these blankets for the kiddies, but she has so many things started on in her box. I thought she was making things for friends for Christmas. Which is fast approaching.

I have just bought her a nice pair of sheep skin wool lined slippers, as something extra for xmas. I know she has had the new sewing machine, but I will have to find a few little extra's. lol

Good news on the house front Ann, lets hope it goes through without any hic cups. Being young first time buyers, they shouldn't have aNY TROUBLE WITH A MORTGAGE (sorry) Hit the Caps Lock.

Mandy, so nice to see you popping in. <3 <3 <3 and hugs for you, from me !!!

Afternoon all
This morning we went to tescos just off the island. This is a very large one and we are still trying to find our way around. It's too big for me. It has so much more choice than my old sainsburys.

Alan has painted 2 walls in our kitchen diner with kitchen paint a slightly different. Shade than we have all over the annexe.
The bathroom has one wall painted green just to give it some colour. The bedroom will have some colour on one wall as well when I can make my mind up what colour

Patricia Report 12 Nov 2015 16:35

Tomorrow. I have an appointment at a hospital in Portsmouth for some insoles to be made for my shoes. We went there in the week to try and find it and popped in to b
& Q while we were there for some paint
We have a little sainsbury on the island for odd bits and a larger coop
Isn't it getting dark at night now so depressing
I will have a read though the posts now. And have a cup of tea before dinner

HI MANDY <3 I know just what you mean about hearing the tick on the clock .The place feels so quite after losing an only pet.I found it just the same after Chester.I just kept the TV or radio on for a while until I got used to him not being there.

Brilliant name Hitler for that Cockerel Mel :-D :-D.He sounded a terror..So a perfect name :-)

Gill have a wonderful evening out tonight..Fingers crossed you get there (with no hiccups).I can imagine how excited Sandra will be now :-D :-D

Frank the wind is really picking up here now too.Blooming cat has come in already.Thats not good,so i will put him out in a bit (if it isn't raining) and hope he stays out for a few hours.

Pat we have a Tesco Extra here but I have seen even bigger stores that this one.I would quite like a larger store :-D..Are the insoles for your shoes to help with your knees/Hips?

Ann that is smashing news .Hopefully with no chain and once the couple get a mortgage sorted it should be all go.But as you say ,anything can happen until things are signed..It is always a bit of a worry until the big survey has been done just incase something is discovered which will mean too big a job for someone.I am guessing though that the prospective buyers realise that there will be some work needing done on the house.

David if you were a cat you have definitely used up some of your 9 lives :-D :-D

Well I have had all my grey hair sorted .Oh boy does it feel good :-D..I feel ten years younger(might not look it though :-S)
Now I pong of fried onions.Fitz is coming for lunch tomorrow so I thought I would do a proper meal and then Chris and I need not bother in the evening. So I has just made my Rice and Lentil concoction .It has Vermecelli ,Fried onions, Nutmeg,Cinnamon and chicken stock. It might be a bit of a faff to do but it is really tasty.I thought we could have Sausages with it .Might not bother making the spicy tomato sauce ,but have Brown Sauce instead. :-D :-D..That will be much easier too.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 12 Nov 2015 18:25

I bought a bottle of brown sauce this week. I hav'nt bought any for 5 years as mum always liked it. Oh says it takes your inside off so I stopped using it but just fancied some in a sausage sandwich.

Winds up a bit here and I have the camera out to see who is eating the food I am still putting out.

Oh has put some rat bait down but I have a rat hole under the original hog box under the camelia and the ege of the box has been nibbled. I bet he forgot................

Yes Sandra will really enjoy her outing tonight with all the trees lit up.

Sounds like you are finding your feet there Pat, getting the place how you like it and finding where the best places are to shop.

Jane

Jane Report 12 Nov 2015 19:34

I am looking forward tonight to the last of the Unforgotten. It has been a great series.

I hope Gill ,Sandra and OH are enjoying themselves tonight.

Just going to dish up our dinner now.Chris has a Fish Pie (YUK !!) and me a Macaroni Cheese :-D :-D .I haven't had one of those for a very very long time and am really looking forward to that.

I like brown sause on toast!! Mum used to like that when she came in from school she told me once.

Forgot to send love to Mandy in my other posts and kept meaning to say I hope you are feeling a bit better now. You have all those lovely memories of dear Toby that nobody can take away.

We have fish pie most weeks Jane! We love it, and it's so easy to make! I put hard boiled egg in it and put smashed potato on the top, put it under the grill, and it's just delicious. We love macaroni cheese too, again really easy to make. Afraid I hate brown sauce, so does OH!!
We're watching a program about living on a converted barge on the river Ooze! Our son really fancies doing that. OH and I once toyed with the idea, and still slightly regret not doing it!!!

Jane Report 12 Nov 2015 20:52

Fish Pie and Mac/Cheese courtesy of Waitrose Liz :-D Have to say we both thoroughly enjoyed them .

Just watching Tom Jones for Children in Need. I think he is amazing !!!! Have been singing and bopping to the old songs..... The cat have been giving me very strange looks as has Chris especially when I was doing Delilah :-S :-S
Waiting now for Unforgotten :-D

A converted Barge sounds lovely Liz but I think after a while I would find it a bit too claustrophobic and restricting.A week or 2 I could probably cope with.We have often talked about a canal boat holiday but never did it.
Mel was it 2 or 3 years ago you had your holiday on the Canals?
