Morning David morning all

Yes boiler day today, the surpervisor turned up about 5 minutes ago and is waiting in his van for the workman to turn up. They said they start at 8am and will be finished by 3pm.

Sorry to hear you've had a bad night. 40 winks will do you the world of good. I hope I don't fall asleep while they're here I was cleaning the kitchen till gone 2am, so much for my early night and then I was up again at 6.45am when the alarm went off, since then we've been moving Sandra's mattress and pulling all the curtains away from where they will be bleeding the rads later.

Going to get a cuppa now, before I can't get into the kitchen
See you all later.

I've had to call my mum to look after Sandra for the day as she got herself in a bit of a state this morning with everything that's going on. We're not going to have any water all day and Sandra was concerned about the toilet, then she wanted a drink so the workmen had to stop while I got her a juice, Sandra had to sign some paperwork because the grant is in her name but by the time she had to do that she was in such a state she couldn't understand what the man was trying to tell her, so I had to step in and explain things to her quietly. So luckily mum is taking Sandra to her lunch club with her and will bring her back around 2.30 so she can sign the rest of the paperwork once the boiler is up and running. Poor Sandra was even worried about the food at the lunch club incase she didn't like it or there was to much. I've not seen her this bad for quite a while, but I know she'll be ok once she's with mum and away from here, then when she returns hopefully it will be all over.

Thanks for the email Jane of the Christmas tree, I've only just spotted it and have showed it to Sandra, it was such a godsend as it's taken her mind off what going on here and she's now a lot calmer <3

Morning you lot and evening Kim,

So its all go at yours then Gill? At least they turned up on time. Poor Sandra getting herself in a tissy she is better off out of the way while the workmen are there and hopefully come home to a nice warm house.

When I got up this morning and walked through to the kitchen and glanced out the front door, there stood the dear nearly in the blimmin porch. I told oh and he said there had been three of them in the garden this morning, a buck and two doe's. We watched for a little while and it walked around our cars and inspected the rose bush hanging down the box hedge but they have eaten all the leaves off that, well the bit they can reach. Then it came back to the front door and started eating the hydranga flower that is near the ground. Oh said they are worse than goats as they eaten just about everything. My goats did'nt and most goats can be very fussy eaters and its a myth that they eat everything.

So our David did'nt get much sleep last night then? I am sure you will have more than 40 winks during the day to make up for it David.

How lovely to see the deer in your garden Mel....not so lovely that they're eating your plants though :-(

Sandra's gone out with mum now and OH has just nipped out too, but said he won't be long. The boiler is on the wall and is now being fitted in.

Rosie came for her breakfast but I didn't put the nuts by the back door as usual, I put them on the grass with the workman being here, she's was quite happy with that and ate everyone of them up.

The weather here is bitter cold, it cuts right through you. We've had the back door open so it's not very warm in here. I have closed the living room door (the kitchen is off the living room) and put the fire on, so it's slowly warming up.
What's the weather like up and down the country? The weather man wasn't joking when he said it was going to be 10 degrees colder today than yesterday and I dread to think how cold it's going to be tonight. Hope everyone is warm.

I'm quite tired now with only having a few hours sleep and I'm trying my best not to fall asleep, so I've decided to take a look at my family tree to keep me awake.

What's everyone else up to today?

Morning all, Evening Kim,

"HOME ALONE" Ros, did go to the choir practise last night, but didn't do much singing. He has been bringing up some real nasty stuff (sorry) but felt and sounded much better this morning.

Her and Carolyn had booked and paid for tickets to the cinema for 10.00 am this morning. They have gone to see Maggie Smith in "The Lady in the Van" I imagine it will be a good laugh, as she is such a good actress.

Then it will be off to Tesco to get all the things I want/need for Sunday.

Jane, Why a humane trap ?? just get it killed, or Thomas will have it when you let it go :-D :-D

David, It must have been nice to sit and watch the boats on the River. When you have water like that around you, you can always see something going on. I miss my times in London. I worked close to the Thames (Tower Bridge) and would spend many lunch hours watching the vessels going and coming, while eating my sandwich's.

Ann, I hope your OH makes the agents get a locksmith in and change the locks. How the hell do they loose keys ?? they must handle so many, and should have a system in hand.!!

What a lovely sight to wake up to Mel, even though they eat you out of every plant in the garden. I would love to see them that close. <3 <3 <3

There will be no holding Gill this afternoon, in and out of the bath and having all that heat. It looks like you will need it, by the look of the forecast. Down to minus 4 tomorrow night. Sorry to hear Sandra has been upset over all this work going on. Good idea for Mum to have her. ;-) ;-)

Nice morning here. Bit of sun and only a light breeze. Neighbours washing still on the line !!!

All the towels are in the W/M. when they are finished they will go in the T/Dryer. Ros won't put towels on the line as she thinks they dry "HARD". I don't get it myself, but I am only a MAN ;-) ;-) ;-)

Be good and have a nice day.

Sorry Mandy I nearly missed you. today would be nice at the seaside. !!!

Morning all

How is everyone..I haven't read any posts yet

We have had so much rain weather will only be about 7 degrees here at the weekend they say..
Alan is busy hanging some wallpaper on one of the bedroom walls I have a dorma quilt and this matches it..
We should have had a tumble dryer delivered yesterday but it didn't turn up They said they tried to deliver it at 4 and we wasent in..We stayed in all day for this..There was no card put though door we are now waiting for them to get back to us.
Im surprised the dogs didn't bark at the doorbell lol

My cushions arrived yesterday too..Remember they sent me the wrong colour

Patricia Report 20 Nov 2015 11:51

I had an interview yesterday for the Sue Ryder charity shop which is about a ten min walk from me..I start on Wednesday just going to try one shift to see how I get on then may add another shift later
It seems to be brightening up now I may take the dogs out later o n my own but it is hard work with both of them as they pull because they think they will be going to the beach

Frank

Frank Report 20 Nov 2015 13:05

Hi Pat, What a perfect day to take the dogs to the beach. Nice bit of sunshine even though it's chilly, you can wrap up against the wind.

I had thought of giving the lawns their last cut, but it's a bit cold to be out there, and my back and legs don't feel up to it.

I took the fleeces out of the T/D this morning when I put the towels in. They have got themselves so knotted up, I can't get then unravelled. I think it will be a job for both of us. :-D :-D :-D

I feel quite heavy lidded at the moment, so I might do a David and have forty winks. Then I will run the Dyson round the bungalow, before Ros gets back from shopping.

The neighbours washing is blowing well in the sun and wind, so I would imagine it MIGHT BE DRY ;-) ;-) Whether she will get it in is another story.

Chinese seasoned spare ribs, chips and baked beans tonight for tea. Ros would have had lunch out with Carolyn, and I don't feel hungry. I had my mate on toast this morning.

Shouldn't be long now before Gill's workmen are finished. Hope she has kept them filled with tea or coffee ;-) ;-) ;-)

You should have traine dthem better Pat so as not to pull. It's not too late you know.
Good your getting sorted out in the new place now. It all takes time dos'nt it?

I have cleaned the six kitchen windows including the door in the 6 inside and out not the outside of the kitchen windows. We have a small amount of watery sun out the back at the moment but how long it will last I don't know. Oh had the heating on this morning for a little while before I got up but as soon as I was dressed I turned it off. We hav'nt really had it on much at all this year so far as we hav'nt needed it.

The deer have been back in the orchard eating the fallen apples and had 40 winks up by my border. I was going to clean the big girls out but when I went to get the barrow they were in the orchard so I had to put that off. No time now as I have to get lunch but perhaps this afternoon. We'll see how I feel.

David Report 20 Nov 2015 14:39

You're quite correct Frank, it is nice. Not far from the sea, or The River Tyne

North there's River Blyth and River Coquet, discharges at Amble via Rothbury and Morpeth.
South there's the River Wear and The River Tees

As you probably know there are several bridges for road or rail across The Tyne.
At the Newcastle end of the swing bridge is a mortuary. If the river Police retrieve a body from The Tyne that's where they put it.

For a jump some try Byker Bridge at the end of Shields Road :-( :-S

Gillx Report 20 Nov 2015 15:04

So you've got Bambi, Bambi's mum and Bambi's dad all having a snooze in your orchard Mel :-D :-D :-D ;-) ;-) ;-)

We've got our heating on now, while the workman tests it....It's lovely and warm. OH and I stood together hugging the radiator in the hall, it was heaven LOL

The electrician is due at 2pm to connected it properly so it's not on all the time, otherwise, we'd melt. Sandra's still out, but when she does get back the water is back on so she'll be happy.

I made the workman a pile of sandwiches and gave him some Jaffa cakes, also kept him in plenty of tea, so he's a happy bunny. My kitchen is upside down at the moment with all the workman's tools. I've still got pans with water in on the side and don't get me started on the dust, but I don't mind, it can all be cleaned. So long as we have our heating and hot water back I can live with a bit of dust for a few days.

I forgot to post this before. Sandra's back now, the boiler is in and finished and it's lovely and warm everywhere...........BLISS <3 <3

Frank Report 20 Nov 2015 16:00

Good news for you Gill. I bet you will be fighting who has the bath first tonight :-D :-D

David, what a good place and so convenient to have a mortuary lol. Newcastle is somewhere I haven't been. Thinking of it, it was because of Newcastle that I fell out BIG TIME with two of my best friends. They decided to go to Newcastle for a weekend to watch the BIG SHIPS come in. They never invited or ask if we would like to go. So I blew a valve. I had taken both the couples to Ireland for a week, also when my Son worked for Haven Holidays, we would always be able to spend weekends away, and they would be invited. They did exactly the same thing one New Years Eve. They booked to go to Paris, again not telling us. Were they trying to tell me something. ;-) ;-) ;-)

I have just taken two photo's of the sun set. I will forwarded them on soon.

Ros thought the film was quite good. She dropped Carolyn off, and loaded up with FIVE bags for life full of windfalls. I have been packing carrier bags full, and delivering to all the neighbours TEN IN ALL. and we still have two bags to get rid of. I will stew a load more tomorrow morning, and take some to the pub.

What a beautiful day it has been here. If it hadn't been so cold, I would have had a walk down the canal.

Jane

Jane Report 20 Nov 2015 17:14

Afternoon Everyone
Gill you won't know yourselves now with all the hot water and heating you want :-D :-D
Just in time to before it turns really cold and snowy too :-D.Poor Sandra getting all upset.I can understand it though.I expect that she needs normality and a routine and today was certainly not going to be like that !!!!!.Thank goodness your Mum lives close enough to have been able to have Sandra for the day while everything was beong done.I'm sure now she is home again she will be a happy bunny :-D

Well the temperature here has really dropped now and the sky is looking a bit nasty.Looks like we may wake to some snow.Even if it isn't going to lie.
I'm not sure now if my Sister will be coming to stay tomorrow. There has been a couple of big upsets.Williams Dad and Girlfriend have split up (looks like for good this time)
and Matthew and his Girlfriend have been robbed in Bolivia. :-( :-(
They had taken out a lot of cash to pay for Volunteering at an Animal Resue Centre. They have to pay up front before they start. The money was safe in their locker in the hostel and they went out for the afternoon .Came back to find the money gone.
It was nearly £700 :-S :-S..The person who did it was caught on CCTV trying 2 other rooms first, but then he got their cash and scarpered.
So my Sister is totally stressed out at the moment and not feeling good.I have said just to let us know in the morning if she is still coming.I do hope so as I have been looking forward to it. Of course now this will mean that they will have to look after William more too now as Michel will be back to being a single parent. It is such a shame as Janice is retiring on the 18th Dec .There is always some crisis for them and it just doesn't seem fair. They have done so much for he family it is about time they had a bit of time for themselves but it is not looking that way at the moment.

I have the biggest Beef Casserole cooking for tomorrow.I probably have enough for all you :-D...James will have some tonight before he goes off for the weekend to Jess.
If Janice and larry don't come tomorrow I will probably end up freezing half of it.

Pat I bet you will enjoy being back doing a shift or two in the Charity Shop....Just don't keep buying things again LOL not after you have just got rid of loads of stuff !!!

Frank I can't do killer traps for the mouse. If it was in the loft where I couldn't see it that would be ok.But also if Thomas tripped it it might snap his paw or nose !!!!.
So humane traps it is for now. There are 2 down and they are prebaited with some kind of non poisonous food.Hopefully overnight tonight when we are all in bed it might investigate and the flap thing will come down to contain it until we can let it go somewhere .

I am still hobbling with this hip and haven't been able to go out anywhere today. :-S

Chris has just made a lovely loaf of bread in the bread maker. It looks a bit pale but I'm sure it will taste really good. The house is smelling so nice with the bread and the Beef Casserole. It is making my tum rumble .

Gill I m glad that the pic of that Christmas tree took Sandras mind of things for a bit this morning.I thought it was pretty hideous with all those toys hanging. It looked like all Disney animals.

Oh Jane, your poor sister, and I think I've got family upsets!! I'm sure it's a perfectly valid reason, but why can't young people stay together for five and twenty minutes, instead of constantly worrying their poor parents with their ups and downs?! If we'd parted after every upset, we'd have fallen apart years ago!!! My own family are the same as you all know! Your poor nephew losing all that money - oh God! !!! I hope your sister feels able to come to you, having a chat could well do her good, she must wonder when it will all settle down, if ever!!
We have our son + partner(!!) for the day tomorrow. I've made a huge lasagne, which we shall have with garlic bread. Profitterols for a pudding, and mince pies, in case!!
Daughter sent a pic of their new pony. Middle grandchild is a very keen rider so Howey(!!!!) is for her. OH cooking supper, duck breasts, fried potato and Brussels. Think it's just about ready!

O Jane will Janice ever get some time to herself. Little William will wonder where his new mum has gone as he must be getting to an age now where he needs a stable family. I really don't know what to say about these youngsters and their ways of life.

All that money going missing is a real blow too. Such a shame they did'nt catch him. He ought to have his hands cut off.

Liz I love the name Howie for the Pony :-D :-D
As for my Nephew.I think he needs to just try and be on his own with William for a while .It can't be good for William to have women coming in and out of his life.Trouble is Michel is one of these people who can't bare to be on his own and he gets into new relationships far too quickly and seriously .
I wish I could take some of the stress away from my Sister and BIL .They are amazing. But it just never seems to end .
I am sure that Big Lasagne will go down a treat tomorrow :-D plus those lovely Profiteroles and Mince Pies :-D :-D

James is just in.Says he isn't hungry as he a very late lunch at 4.30 !!!!.......So he just wants a sandwich ......More Casserole to go around !! :-S
