I'm so sorry to hear of all the problems in your family Jane. How awful having all that money taken, have they caught the person responsible yet?
Yes I think you were right about the Christmas tree, it did look like Disney Characters. It was a bit hard to see all of them but I did spot one or two characters. Sandra loved it and commented on how tall the tree was. She is a lot better, now all the work is finished. I think you might be right Jane, she doesn't like change and I think it frightened her a bit. She had a nice time with mum and the job was almost finished by the time she came home. The electrician only took a few minutes to do his job then he was gone, so Sandra was ok with that. The other fella had already left by the time mum brought Sandra home.
Sorry to hear your hip is still playing you up, the cold weather won't help either. I was thinking, maybe a hot bath might help, or a heat pad or hot water bottle. Hope it eases soon for you.
We used humane mouse traps last year and managed to catch one which we let out safely in a field a few miles away.
I love sunsets Frank, can't wait to see the pics you have taken.
It sounds like you are making your place all nice and homely now Pat and working in the charity shop will be great.
I love the sound of the meal you have planned for your son and partner tomorrow Liz. That's my kind of food, especially the profiterole's lol.
I've just noticed OH has fallen asleep on the sofa, it must be the warmth in the room. I guess the furniture will be going back tomorrow now, I haven't the heart to wake him up. Sandra's bed is back in place and all her stuff off the dining room table has been put away too, so the rest can wait until the morning ;-) ;-)
I'm going to have an early night tonight, I'm shattered after not sleeping for long last night. I'll have my bath tomorrow, it takes to long to wash and dry my hair and all I really want to do is sleep. I can't hear Sandra in her room, so I assume she's fell asleep too. She's not an early bird and I woke her up at 7am this morning so if she's not asleep at the moment I doubt it'll be a late night for her either.
Going to watch my soaps in a moment, but first a nice cup of tea ;-) ;-)

Evening all,
It's been quite a nice day here we even saw the sun for a while ,still a bit breezy i hung washing out but they didn't get dry although i did get them in early as it really clouded over just after lunch. Raining here now .
Oh Mel it must have been a lovely sight seeing the deer up so close this morning even i they were having a nibbling away at your plants . How are these surprise things coming along ? do you think will we get to see them this weekend ?
Poor Sandra getting so upset ,it was nice she had your mum to go too while the work was done ,i bet she's happy now she's home and has her bed back together and nice and warm too.
Oh dear Jane your poor sister and BIL ,and all this upset for poor little William just before christmas , what a shame they couldn't make a go of it . That's a lot of money to lose , i hope they catch them and that they can get the money back although i bet it's long gone !! What will happen now with the Volunteering at an Animal Resue Centre ?will they have to come home ? That was a very late lunch !! i bet your face was a picture when James said he would just have a sandwich !! and you had all that Casserole !! :-(
I had a little time in the garden this morning ,i potted up my Geraniums to bring in to the conservatory and cut some dead bits off one or two plants . We went to the farm and bought some bags of Cox's Apples ,the grandchildren love them in their lunch and snack boxes .and we also called in the tip to drop of the garden rubbish .

Well that supper was delicious, better of course because I didn't have to cook it, and the dishwasher washed it up!! We're like you Jane and Gill with regard to mousetraps!! We had them coming in through the skirting board in the kitchen back in the Spring, (it's now been redone and they can't get in anymore!) and we caught them in humane traps and let them go in the paddock right up at the other end, as like you Jane I can't bear to kill them, particularly field mice which these are. We're all tired tonight, so we won't be late turning in.

Good evening everybody
I have only just been able to access the internet, Richard had to sort my laptop out for me.
Gill I'm pleased to hear you are all nice and cosy now and Sandra is back home after being with her grandma, it's no wonder you are all feeling tired.
Jane I feel sorry for your sister and her family problems, as my Dad used to say you never stop worrying about your children however old they are. It will probably do her good if she visits you tomorrow and can unload her troubles as I'm sure you are a good listener. I hope your hip pain eases off for you and you get a good nights sleep.
Pat you seemed to have settled well in your new home, I'm sure working in the charity shop will be enjoyable we don't have any in Bracknell at the moment because of the town centre being regenerated and a lot of the older part coming down. Amy pulls when she is on the lead, she went to puppy training class and did well but she is such a friendly dog and always wants to say hello to everybody she meets including other dogs, and as she weighs 40 kilos it can be difficult sometimes
David, we used to visit Newcastle years ago when Peter's great aunt lived there we had a towing caravan then and used to stay on the racecourse, more recently we stayed in Rothbury a couple of times and Alnwick I did like to see the Angel of the North on the way there. I'm sure you love Ellen's cats really.
Mel, how lovely to have deer that close to you, we do have them in the forest across the road but you only see them from a distance if at all these days.
I use humane traps as well for the odd mouse that escapes from the cats, I put peanut butter in as they are supposed to like that, I don't believe in killing anything. This morning I went to pick up what I thought was a flower off my cactus plant only to discover it was a really tiny head what happened to the body I don't know.
Frank thank you for all of the jokey emails, it sounds like you have had a busy day today. I hope Ros is feeling better, with you doing all the main jobs she can relax when she gets home, Peter always shared the housework and cooking etc being one of six he was more domesticated than me when we married, with my mum only having me and my brother with a gap of over seven years, she never worked as there was no need apart from hop picking once a year, The only thing I ever did at home was bake cakes and then only if I felt like it.
It really has turned cold here but at least it has been sunny so Amy got her walk

Jane, losing weight takes time. A replacement hip a routine operation takes hours, in and out of hospital in week.?
Wonder if it's too soon to put the kettle. I ought to set the teas made up :-D

Morning all and evening Kim and hello David you early bird,
So someone else could'nt sleep last night .
Beautiful sunshine here but it is much colder. Oh has turned the heating on.
Last night as I was watching a bit of telly we had a massve hail shower. It was all settling on the top of my car.
Bet our Gill is nice and warm this morning and thank goodness the boiler was put in yesterday with the weather forecast. Now they will all be as snug as bugs in a rug.
Nothing planned for today just the usual up the shop for the paper and some of their nice cornish butter which seems to go up in price every month.

Morning all
Sunny here but cold, I can't see us getting any snow today as there's hardly a cloud in sight.
I'm pleased to hear Janice is coming to see you today Jane and bringing William with her too. How old is William, he sounds quite young? I think you might be right with Thomas, he'll probably keep out of the way, cats normally do when there's a lot of people around.
How is Ros Frank? Hope she's back to her usual self now. Have you finished all your apples yet? We have a few more on the lawn this morning, along with lots of leaves so they'll need clearing up later.
It sounds like you've been busy in your garden Mandy, it's always nice to sort it all out before the winter sets in.
I need to move the rest of the furniture back today that wasn't done yesterday and give this place another wipe round, there's still some dust where the workman had to drill through the wall to put a new pipe in, so I imagine the dust will be around for a few days, like it was the last time we had work done. I use a damp cloth as that seems to do the trick better than polish and a duster.
I've slept in today, which isn't like me, it's probably because I didn't get much sleep the other night. Going to get a cuppa now, then make a start on the cleaning BBL

Morning Mel, didn't see you there. Yes we are all nice and warm today, I think the timing was just right having the boiler done yesterday, looking at the weather forecast for the next few days.....At least I don't have to worry about the pipes freezing anymore ;-) ;-) We had hail here last night too :-(

Gill,William was 3 in June.i think he is going to be at he age now when he will start asking why he doesn't have a Mummy :-(.he will be seeing the other children with their Mums taking and picking up from nursery.I am sure that Janice and Michel will have discussed what to tell him when the time comes. It is so sad that he was so young when his Mum died.Just 4 months :-( :-(

I will try again. Good Morning all, Afternoon Kim,
What a COLD, COLD, day it is , last night I walk to the pub in overcoat, scarf and gloves, and was nearly cut in half by the wind. The pup was so hot I was down to shirt sleeves within minutes. Ros picked me up 8.45 and we took "PADDY HOME" too sore with his ribs to walk. When we pulled on the drive the heavens opened with SLEET.
All tuck up now then Gill, Not before time the way the weather is looking this weekend ;-) ;-)
Jane. It will do Janice good to get away from the situation and you have the added pleasure of seeing William. As for these break ups, they don't give themselves time to know one and other before SHAKING up together. When will they learn ???
Anne, I have always been helpful around the house. Apart from doing the cooking, I don't mind hovering and tidying up. I would hang the washing out but "I DON'T DO IT RIGHT" as Ros keeps telling me every time I try ;-) ;-) ;-) YOU WOMEN !!!
Man Utd on the tele at lunchtime, so I will be forced out in all this cold weather lol to see them play Watford. and try a pint or three !!!!
The neighbour got her washing in this morning, and hung out another lot. I wonder when that will go in. ???
My SIL rang last night (BILLS WIFE) Her son is trying to build a family tree, and ask if I could help him. My tree, so the computer tells me, is too big to print. So I have contacted the company who printed my tree a few years ago to give me a quote to print it again. I will let them know the cost, then it's up to them.
Very clear blue sky's here, so I expect I will freeze walking down to the pub. I think I will ring Tony to see if he is going down in the car. ;-) ;-)
Have a nice day all, will be back later, no doubt.

Afternoon all,
Brrrrr it's cold today ,we have had heavy showers and now and then the sun tries to peep through, but the wind cuts through you ,we were spoilt with all that mild weather we've had lately
You must be so pleased you've got your boiler in with this cold weather Gill
You were an early bird this morning David ,i was still in the land of nod then :-)
Jane , how lovely for you to have the extra little visitor William come with Janice , i bet you will notice the difference since you last saw him , i think three is a lovely age as they are getting really chatty at that age and come out with all sorts of funny things , i know Lacey does ,although some times i have a job to understand her as she talks quite quietly . Is it just over night they are staying or for a few days ? I think we might go for a Lab puppy this time ,may be a chocolate one but we will see nearer the time .
Frank you haven't got time to go to the pub !! i thought you would be getting things ready for your meal tomorrow :-D
We're watching some nice christmas films this afternoon ,it's not a day for outside jobs :-S Hubby moved the cooker and fridge out for me this morning so i could clean the sides and underneath ,you should have seen the cobwebs :-0 i washed all the wall tiles and the floor so it's all tidy and clean now .
The rain is beating on the front window ,sounds like hail too i think.

I meant to say earlier that when I went orund to the big girls this morning their fencing was in such a state being pulled right off the corn post and all tangled up on the next fencing post which are just a metal rod with a covering of plastic and a plastic bit on top with a slot to put the poly fencing in. It is hard enough to get one strand through but there were two strands and the pole had one of those plastic tie things on to hold the floppy pole up straight. The two ties had gone I don't know where as I never found those but on looking in the mud it must have been one of the deer got tangled init last night in the dark. It has actually pulled the polyproperlene netting which the wire runs through apart in one place higher up on the fence. It must have been so frightened. Bet it won't do that again.............
A choc lab Mandy that will remind our Jane of Chester. Will you have another dog or a bitch this time?

It's still dry here and just as cold as yesterday.
3 is a lovely age Jane, they are so comical at that age and like Mandy said can come out with all sorts in what they say. It is sad that his dad and partner have split up, I hope it doesn't spoil little William's Christmas.
I don't blame you for not wanting to do any outside work Mandy if it's as cold by you as it is here. There was mention of snow but so far we haven't had any.
Sorry to hear you lost your post again Frank. I hope Tony can take you to the pub, you don't want to be walking there in all this cold. Have you thought of getting a subscription for Sky Sports so you can watch your match's at home. That way you can just go to the pub when the weather is ok, at least then you'll have a choice.
I tried moving OH's chest of draws on my own while he was out earlier and hurt my toe, I was pulling it from one room to another and run it over my foot, it's so sore now.....I should of just waited for OH to get home.
I lost my connection on the internet before. The wire for the plug is broken somewhere so I've had to fiddle with it to get some power into the router then try and stick it in place with some sticky tape, so far it's worked but for how long who knows. So if I'm not online you all know why.
The pressure on the boiler went down a bit from last night, I've just popped the heating back on again and the pressure has gone back up. I was told to keep an eye on the rads and bleed them if they go cold at the top over the next few days to get rid of any air, then hopefully the pressure will sort itself out. I know what to do if it doesn't, but so far so good. We think Sandra's radiator in her bedroom is the last one to warm up as all the others were warm and hers was stone cold. It's starting to warm up now, which is good.
My sister came to visit me earlier, so that was nice to have a catch up, my mum came round an hour later so we all had a good chat. Mum gave me her spare plug off her router but it's not compatible with mine. I've been thinking of changing my internet provider for a while, so maybe now is the time to do that.
OH has just painted the bathroom ceiling and is now about to start the kitchen one. Our baths will have to wait until tomorrow now, but I said to OH and Sandra, we've waited a month so what's one more day. The painting had to be done today as OH's back in work tomorrow and we have a viewing on Tuesday.
I've had lots of wiping down to do today, the dust seems to get everywhere, no doubt it'll need doing again tomorrow I've also done all the hovering too. With being so busy I've had nothing to eat all day and I'm really hungry now, so I'm going to see what's in the fridge. BBL..........hopefully, if my router doesn't stop working again :-S

I have been rearranging the bedroom Have now put my mums coffee table we had done up next to the bed and moved my other bedside unit to another place in the bedroom the coffee table was in the hall but we will need to put another radiator.
