Afternoon All,

Happy Birthday Gill, Hope you have a lovely day. <3 <3 <3

We have had a great day, OH & I , Victoria & Matteo all went to see Sofia at school, She was doing her Scottish/French/Spanish dancing display. She was good, all of the children were great, and I had to get up with some of the other adults and join in the flamingo,

Then we went off to have a birthday lunch for Victoria who is 35 today, and Matteo had a great time in the soft play area which is situated in the restaurant, it was not far from our table, and he would come back now and then to eat,

Very cold here and dark outside, the street lights have just gone on, think it is time for a cuppa
:-D

Frank Report 23 Nov 2015 16:25

Well that's another present for Lewis bought. He wants a Ninja Nutri Bullet Juicer. It has 21 attachments to it. What they all do I don't know, but I expect he will tell me after Christmas. !!

Gill, I remember you replying to something I posted, and I PMd you, and got you to post on the site. You have certainly come out of your shell since then ;-) ;-) <3 <3

Horrible BLACK looking night out there, so I won't be going anywhere tonight.

Guess what we have for dinner tonight. Warmed up Turkey, Mashed potato's, runners and sweetheart cabbage. I have run out of carrots for the first time that I can remember. Never mind, we won't go hungry. lol

What sort of day have you had today folks ?? Mine has been sitting reading and watching T.V. I haven't had a doze, so hopefully will sleep well tonight.

My West Ham got thrashed by Spurs yesterday 4 - 1. I will get ribbed next time I'm down the pub. :-( :-(

Might see you later.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO VICTORIA <3 <3
Those soft play areas are great for the children aren't they? Handy it was close to your table so Matteo could see you and go back and forth. Scottish, French and Spanish dancing, that's a lot I bet Sofia will sleep tonight and you doing the Flamingo....sounds like you've all had a fun time today.

Yes Frank, I remember how shy and awkward I felt trying to pluck up the courage to join you all on here. It was the best thing I ever did though, it's lovely chatting with you all <3
So it's turkey for the next few days then :-D :-D :-D
I saw the results for the West Ham game last night and thought of you Frank, I didn't think you'd be a happy bunny with that score.

So we can compare notes on the 3 books after I've read them then Jane ;-) ;-)

I got a couple more presents at my mum's this afternoon
Mum got me the new Andre Rieu CD, I love him and would love to see him live
and mum's neighbour gave me some money which I'm going to use on clothes. I've lost a lot of weight lately so need a whole new wardrobe......well, that's my excuse anyway LOL so the money will come in handy to make a start on a few new things.
My sister bought wine so now I'm feeling quite relax and sleepy, wine always makes me feel that way, so I'll probably have an early night tonight.

We'd just made it home when it starting raining, it's been dry all day with sunshine which cleared the frost from this morning but now it's wet everywhere.

Yes I think it's the thermostat that might need sorting Mandy, but thank you for all the advice, I've always bled rads with the heating on so learnt something new yesterday that the heating needs to be off. I like to learn something new each day if I can :-D :-D

We're going to use the heater my mum bought us to heat Sandra's room for now until we can get her rad fixed. I will give the company a ring tomorrow for her.

Going to get a cuppa now. I'm quite thirsty after all the wine I've drank, then settle down and watch my soaps. No dinner to cook tonight, as mum put on a lovely spread and got me a chocolate birthday cake with 49 on, so none of us are hungry. She even got me a balloon too :-D

Hope you've enjoyed your day and your visit to see your mum .

Thanks for the photo of the family Fiona ,your daughter looks so like you :-) those soft play areas are brilliant for the little ones to play in and you can keep an eye on them while you eat .

They are a price those Nutri Bullets but they chew everything up that you put in them fruit skin and all ,with some juicers you get lots of bits in the juice ,i've seen then advertised and they look good .

Hows the hip now Mel ? are you still getting the pain ?

What you been buying them Jane ,treating yourself or christmas shopping ?
When does Janice go home ?

Evening All,

<3 <3HAPPY BIRTHDAY GILL <3 <3 It sounds like you have had a good day and a nice visit to your mum's. Some nice pressies too! It's a pity you still have to sort Sandra's rad. I bet she's wishing she was back in the other bedroom now!!!

Mandy thank you to you and your hubby for the tip you gave Gill. I've made a mental note of it as I wouldn't have thought about switching the other rads off. :-)

That's good Ros has been to the docs Frank, best to get it treated before it gets worse. Your meal sounded fabulous as your meals usually do!! My mouth was watering when I read what you were preparing yesterday. :-)

Mel have you tried sleeping with a pillow between your thighs? They say that can help with hip pain. You must be fed up with it now. These things with back, hips or knees stop us or slow us down from getting on with the things we want to do and hurt as well which is a nuisance! I'm glad you are taking no notice of your OH and doing your wreaths anyway. I think it's a lovely thing to do and I would be riding around looking for them on people's doors nearer Christmas. If he hates Christmas ask him how he feels about bangers and mash for Christmas dinner!! lol. OH hates writing cards and the commercialisation, but loves Christmas otherwise. He's even enjoyed going to these Christmas fairs with me which surprised me and enjoys looking at the garden centre displays and going round the shops. He handed me a letter addressed to 'Santa Ann' the other day. It was his list of suggestions of what he would like for Christmas. It seems he would like mostly clothes this year, but I had to smile as at the bottom of the list he put 'help with satnav and bluray'. :-) lol. I think I will get them out and see if I can sort them while he's at footie match. If I'm successful, I can put them back in their boxes and on Christmas morning give him a little envelope with a notelet in saying they are ready to use. The trouble is I bought some sort of adapter for the blu-ray........where did we put it?? Maybe it's been squeezed into the box.

Thanks for the photo Fiona and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Victoria. It sounds like you enjoyed yourselves. :-)

I was woken by the window cleaner this morning. I think they were having trouble with ice as I heard one saying not to wet the windows! :-S Then while I was reaching something off the top of the bathroom cabinet with a coathanger, OH made me jump and I knocked it off and it knocked a nice glass bottle shaped vase off the windowsill onto the tiled floor where it smashed to smithereens!!! :-S Honestly I think I leave him busy doing his notes in the lounge one minute and the next he is right behind me. It's hard to concentrate on what you are doing when he's at home. You have to have an eye over your shoulder all the time. :-|

Our nextdoor neighbour's fence on the front blew down onto the builder's land in the storms as did the builder's metal fence he put across the gap where the tree was cut down. The builder's fence was back up again later today as someone had been there cutting down the rest of the orchard that was in the garden that was sold. Oh I do hate it when trees are cut down. They are building everywhere round here and chopping all the trees down.

This afternoon we went to see the film 'The Dressmaker'. It was a rather strange surreal film. a sort of sphagetti western. Now I am back to my beads and have just 2 more petals to make to finish the flower I'm making.

Gill I have seen Andre Rieu live at Birmingham and he was fantastic! I love him too, a very attractive man and so nice. OH is always asking if we can see him again and would even like to go and see him in Maastricht.

I had to chuckle at you doing the Flamingo Fiona.........did you mean the Flamenco?

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 23 Nov 2015 18:37

So how did they clean your windows then Ann if they didn't wet them ? :-S

I'am glad the advise from hubby about bleeding rads might help others on here ,he said you never bleed rads with the heating on as that lets air into the system !! i never knew that :-S

Really chilly here now ,i expect we will have another frost by the morning .

I meant to say Frank i'am glad Ros has got some thing from the docs for her nasty cough and i hope she feels better soon.

Love the pic Fiona. I like it when you get a little cubicle like that, feels all nice and cosy.
Happy birthday Victoria <3 Can I have a little of that cake please?

It's still very cold here but no snow.

It sounds like you enjoyed your birthday Gill, enjoy reading your books :-D :-D :-D

My youngest S.I.L. rang today her little granddaughter Lexi aged four fell over yesterday they took her to Pembury Hospital and found she had broken her right arm, she had badly broken her elbow and was two hours in Theatre and had a metal insert. Her Mum and Dad were there when she came round and the nurses had painted her splint purple and covered it with silver sparkles plus a new Teddy Bear beside her. They were hoping to have her home today. she has a two year old sister so Mum and Dad are going to have their hands full.

It's two years ago today that Peter died so I've been feeling down, although it was expected because of the brain tumour it still makes me sad. He didn't suffer any pain but because it caused Dementia he was unaware of how ill he was .I did care for him for some time but because he was doubly incontinent and kept falling over, I had to call the ambulance when Paul & Richard were on holiday, they decided to keep him in hospital and then transfer him to a nursing home in Windsor, I would have preferred it to be nearer as I had to rely on Paul to take me but we visited every day and there were no time restrictions he was really well looked after and we were always offered tea and cake or biscuits when we there.

Amy had her walk as usual but was a sniff every blade of grass mood which made me feel even colder Timmy decided to come and meet us closely followed by a beautiful cat, I'm not sure what breed it had Siamese colours but was fluffy with bright blue eyes.

I hope Jane and Mel's pains have eased up, and everyone has a good nights sleep

Hi folks.
Just dashing in to tell you that grandson Matthew got married in Warwick today and I was honoured to be a witness. As I (tried) to sign the certificate, the pen wouldn't work properly and it looked more like a doctors prescription by the time I'd finished. (Sorry, Jane, please apologize to your O H !!! ) As I finished signing, I thought to myself - "That is going to puzzle some genealogist in the future".

It was a small affair, as it was the second time for both Matthew and Emma (Matthew is Grace's dad) but is was a lovely occasion carried out in a 50's theme. Luckily Carmel had a good day and was able to come along and that made Matthew day. and what a grand day for it weather-wise too.

Still don't have much time lately, get a lot of interruptions here. Facebook is easy as I can dip in and out. Last week I had a journalist and photographer here to do an article on my collection of model cars. It will appear in Diecast Collector at some future date. They were here for three hours so I get the idea that they did find it of interest.

Before I go I must tell you this. I heard of two friends falling down stairs at the weekend, is that some kind of record - or just sheer carelessness?

Must go, Carmel is waiting for to joining her for a cuppa. Take care all.

There is still time here for me to wish you a Happy Birthday Gill <3 <3

I wish I could be 49 again, especially with all the knowledge I have now, after reading those 3 books myself ;-) ;-)

William, how nice to be such a celebrity!. Good too that Carmel was able to go to the wedding with you.

I don't write very well anymore either - my fingers no longer cooperate.

I'm sorry you're feeling so sad Anne. It's very hard being the one left behind. Come Feb. it will be 6 years since my hubby passed away. We were married just over 49 years. I go by the cemetery after church every Sunday and have a little chat. He was a very strong and active man, and it is still hard to believe he's gone.

Little Matteo is growing so fast, and is a handsome little chap. Nice picture of you all Fiona.

Jane, your sister's little grandson is a lovely fella too - good picture with the kitty. I hope his family environment becomes more stable - so sad for the little ones in such cases.

I see Pat is settled into her new home. How nice to be close to the ocean - I am quite envious.

We have Thanksgiving here this Thursday. I am going to meet up with a lot of the family at the home of one of my grand=daughters. DIL is baking the turkey and dressing, also a ham, and the rest of us bring a side dish and a dessert.. It was requested that I bring a squash casserole, so I can get it ready the day before and then bake it that morning. I'm also going to make an apple cranberry cobbler. It's my favourite. They're going to eat at 12 noon, so I will try not to eat too much because later in the day, I'm going to my daughter's house to eat :-) They are having barbecued pork and all the trimmings. Afterwards we shall play board games.

Ruby Report 24 Nov 2015 04:03

Mandy, I think you asked me what Mahi Mahi was. It's a white fish, also called a dorado or dolphin fish, and it is delicious. I don't normally buy it because it's quite expensive, but really I shouldn't think that way. It's just the way I was raised I suppose. I'm going to buy some for the freezer - have just decided.

I must tell you what happened to me yesterday. Sometimes after church, I take grand-daughter and we use the drive through at MacDonalds to buy her a Happy meal. Well I decided to order their Southwestern salad because I wouldn't have much time to cook after we got home, because Ali is going to be Mary in the Christmas play at church and we were having to go back later in the afternoon, for practice. Anyway, I got to the first window to pay and had my money ready, and the young lady smiled at me and told me that the man ahead of me had paid for my order. I know that people sometimes do that, but he was pulling out onto the highway already so I didn't have a chance to thank him. I must pass it on myself. It has really bothered me that I couldn't thank him.

Your meal sounded wonderful Frank. You should have been a Master chef. I hope Ros is soon well - bronchitis can be nasty.

Good Morning All

Ruby, what a nice thought from the man in front of you paying for your meal, perhaps some one had done the same for him. There are some really kind people about sadly you usually only hear about the other sort

I hope little granddaughter's Christmas play goes well for her, she must feel very special being chosen to play Mary.

William, your collection must be amazing to have had all that interest shown in it
It's lovely to have a wedding in the family so that everyone can get together and catch up on all their news during a happy event, I'm pleased for you that Carmel could be at your side,

It's very wet here today but not so cold.

Morning all and evening Kim,

Had a lay in this morning. Wet wet wet here and grey sky with it.

Donkey Day again. I don't know where the weeks go lately. Only a few weeks now till Christmas and the big build up to one day that passes so quickly too.

Ruby I don't understand how a car in front of you can pay for your order when they don't know what you are going to have, can you please explain? thank you.

I had better get on now I have had my cuppa.

Anne Report 24 Nov 2015 11:14

Mel,in our McDonalds you drive in, place your order at the first stop then drive on to the next stop to pay and collect, so they would have got this before you get there to pick it up. I expect Ruby would have done the same.
