Afternoon All,
Chatter, chatter, chatter. Where shall I begin.
Yes Mel £79.00 for a juicer. and I didn't know you could put everything in it, There are others on the marker and cheaper. But that's what my boy wanted. We don't spoil him so for him to get what he want's will be nice.
Anne, I can imagine how you feel after loosing your oh two years ago. Likewise with Ruby. I lost my Father 57 years ago and still talk to him every night, as I look at his photo on my bedside cabinet. There is nothing wrong in missing someone you loved <3 <3 <3
Fiona I saw your party picture on FB. You all seemed to have been having a good time.
Mel, Have you seen the doctor about your hip ?? it could be you have slipped something and need it treating. Don't keep putting it off, there's a good GIRL <3 <3
I learnt about radiator bleeding over 55 years ago, from a relation who was a plumber !!! It's something I have never forgot .
Gill I suppose the heater will compensate for the radiator until you can get it fixed. I bet she's not pleased that her Rad isn't working.
Ann, I have no interest in going around the garden centres to look at the displays. I know you women love to do it. Ros goes with Carolyn, and Jan when she sees her.
The cough doesn't seem to be improving, I had the job of taking a sample of the "GREEN STUFF" to the doctors this morning. :-0 :-0 :-0 :-| :-| :-| :-D :-D :-D I didn't want her going out in this horrible damp weather, in a cold car. What a loving husband she has ??? :-P :-P :-P
My daughter Sarah, has been asking my SIL grand daughter for information regarding my mother and fathers family history. Francis (SIL) didn't even know my daughters married name, and asked me if I knew this person asking all these questions, you can imagine her surprise when I told her who she was. Why on EARTH she didn't ask me, to view my tree. To PIG HEADED I SUPPOSE. and may be scared what my response would have been.
My old school pal, is on his last course of treatment for his Cancer. So fingers crossed he should be completely clear very soon ;-) ;-) ;-)
How did your weekend go with Janice Jane, did you put the World to right, and sort out Williams dad and girlfriend ??
Will, Nice to see all the interest in your collection. They must have been impressed to have stayed for three hours. !!! Also nice that Carmel was able to enjoy the family wedding. I trust you enjoyed yourselves.
David what a "Smart" young man you were in your school photo. I trust you continue in the same mode. !!!
I think we will have a break from Turkey tonight. It's all wrapped up in tin foil in the Fridge. So perhaps we will have a curry tomorrow.
Ros isn't feeling on top of the world at the moment, so will see what she fancies later in the day, before I prepare anything.
See you all later.

Afternoon Folks,
Sorry to hear you were sad Anne but it's very natural and good to have had someone you love that much. So many people go through life never having had that so give yourself a hug! :-) I'm sure I would be lost without my OH.
Ruby it was me that asked you about Mahi Mahi and I didn't know it was a fish. I've never seen it for sale here or I would get some to try! Now then, did this kind man buy your meal so you didn't have to pay for it at all? It was a very nice gesture if he did. Things like that make you feel good don't they. :-) The nearest I've come to that waiting in a queue is a man behind me paying for my icecream at an icecream van years ago!!
Are you any better today Mel? I looked up about the sacroilliac joint and see it is similar to sciatic pain. Hopefully Jane's hip is a bit better today too.
Frank, OH doesn't like spending ages and ages at the Christmas displays........he just likes to see the best ones there are around here if he knows I am going to look. ;-) It sounds like it will take Ros a little while to get back to her old self poor thing. Hopefully it will soon clear and she'll start feeling better. I have fancied one of those Nutribullit things that you are getting for Lewis. I think they are the ones that pulp everything into a smoothie. I have a blender that's not as good that I do soups with. I hope your old friend is finished with his treatment for Christmas so he will feel a bit better and can enjoy the food.
David you looked a nice young man in your photo, How old were you?
I'm off to M&S down the road now as I have a £5 voucher if you spend £35 and also a gift card to use. :-) Then I can pop into Sainsburys opposite as I need some nuts, fish and other bits and can also fill my car up there. BBL

Afternoon all
Well, that's another viewing out of the way, just as I was running the hoover around getting this place ready the agent rang to book in another viewing for next week, it's for a couple who are coming over from JAPAN. I was just wondering if anyone new if they take their shoes off when they go indoors, or have I got that muddled up with another country? I wouldn't want to offend them by saying they don't need to take their shoes off :-S :-S
It poured with rain here this morning and was still raining when the people turned up for the viewing. I remembered to put my coat in the kitchen Mel. so I didn't get cold and wet when I showed them outside ;-) ;-) then a few minutes after they left the sun came out...typical :-|
Sorry to hear about your loss Anne, like Frank said there is nothing wrong with missing someone you loved. I still miss my dear granddad who passed away 27 years ago and all my other grandparents, they're always in my thoughts <3 <3
So you're having a break from the Turkey tonight then Frank? I had visions of you just getting through this turkey then having to start all over again with another turkey for Christmas lol. That's the problem with turkey, they are so big they seem to last for ages. Maybe you could make a curry and freeze it or any other recipes you fancy, then they'll keep for when you want them, without it going to waste. Sorry to hear Ros is still feeling unwell, hopefully she'll start feeling better soon with the meds she's on.
What a lovely picture Fiona, Victoria looks just like you. That was nice of the waiter to take the photo of you all.
Nice to see you back on here Will, pleased to hear Carmel was well enough to attend the wedding with you. I did have a giggle when you were describing your signature and how genealogists may have a problem reading it in the future ;-)
It sounds like I'm the only woman who hasn't read these 3 books yet, you made me laugh too Ruby when you mentioned them and wishing you had the knowledge at 49 you now have thanks to the books LOL. Have a lovely time at your Thanksgiving on Thursday <3 It was nice of the man in front of you to pay for your meal, what a lovely thing to do.
Sandra's just ask if we can watch a Christmas film that has just started on channel 5 so I'd better go.
Oh nearly forgot, Sandra's rad is starting to get warmer now, it's not as hot as the rest, but hot enough to keep her warm. Still not sure what the problem was though.
See you all later :-)

I haven't read them Gill! don't think they'd be for me so I shall pass on that one. Really busy couple of days here. We've changed our car insurance provider, so now all our insurance is under one roof so to speak, which makes life much easier. Have just taken Cas for her last walk and it's pretty chilly. She had a great time chasing and picking up her dummy, shopping she's now eating her dinner! Next week I shall start to get my head round Christmas! At least get the two or three foreign cards away, and have a think about food!! We don't send many cards anymore the way we used to as postage has got so expensive. I usually send e. cards, Frank knows the ones! which I am quite happy to receive! Your wreaths sound lovely Mel, if I lived close to you I'd buy one for our front door. I think OH will probably make a spray, as he's good at that sort of thing! Gill, if you look up on line you'll be able to find out about whether the Japanese remove their shoes before entering a house, or maybe ask your agent to find out for you, it's what you pay them for!!!!

Afternoon All Well I will be able to catch up on all the posts now.Janice has just gone home.It was so nice having her here for a few days :-D She goes back to work tomorrow and just has nine working days to go before she retires. She will finish on the 18th Dec.
David I like your pic.Well done for managing to crop it and get it on so we can all see what lovely 12 yr old you were :-D
Gill ,yes it is the Japanese who take shoes off before going into a house. Our friends who lived in Tokyo for 4 years still don't wear any shoes in their home and have all visitors remove theirs. They have those slip on slippers to give guests.
Mel I hope that hip of yours isn't so painful now.I have been taking Co Codamol and Ibuprofen now for nearly a week and it has made such a difference now.In fact today I have left off the Co Codamol and gone back to Paracetamol.Janice got her OH to bring me one of her Walking Sticks (that she had after her knee replacement ).So I don't need to buy one should I need to use one.
Does anyone watch the new programme 'The Coroner' in the afternoon? Todays programme started off with the filming taking place in the Churchyard where my Mum and Dads ashes are buried .It is the church where I sang in the choir, got married and had the children Christened :-D :-D.I am going to have to watch it again on catch up as I missed the start .It would be nice to see if Mum and Dads little plot was shown :-D
Oh Frank I see Ros is still not good.If she has lots of green muck it sounds like she might has a chest infection.
I need to get on and start sorting dinner now.I'm sorry that I have not been able to keep up with all the posts for the last few days but with having my Sister here I just haven't had the time to sit quietly and spend time on the pooter. Back to normal tomorrow.

Back from Donkey Day and still in one piece thank goodness. I am going to shout this now!!
I DO NOT HAVE BACK ACHE I think it is scitica as today it is going down my right leg to my knee. I have some Co Codimol soemwhere so may try that but these pain killers give me constipation and I can do without that too. I have also got Ibruprofen so one or the other shoudl help. I think it all started after I cleaned the kitchen windows the other day. I was stretching a lot being a short person and I'm not too good on steps anymore because of this funny foot I have like Jane.
I have watched a couple of those The Coroner programs Jane in the evening when there is nothing on the telly. One I watched they were in Plymouth and I was thinking of you and meant to tell you to watch them.
Just going to have a little sit now and relax before putting the lamb joint in the oven.

Mel, Why don't you go to the doctor with your sciatica? He/she could give you the once over and advise you on painkillers or some other form of treatment. When I had it, I had prescription pain killers, followed by acupuncture. I was also recommended not to lift heavy weights until it was better as this just aggravates it all the time. Surely you could do you shopping online, or get them to deliver it while you're in pain. Or perhaps OH could give you a hand for the duration. Must make a cheese sauce for macaroni, nice and easy tonight.

Evening all,
Pleased you had a good weekend with Janice, Jane. Is she just a bit younger than you, to be retiring next month ??
Mel, what great news that your back is feeling better. <3 <3 Now don't start over doing things for the next few days. You might upset it again. !!
Gill, Have you a hotel local to you, that give their guests these throwaway slippers. ?? It would be a lovely jester if you could get your hands on a couple of pairs to impress your Japanese Viewers. It might help clinch a sale !!!
Lis, that is something I have never eaten or Cauliflower Cheese. I like a cheese sauce over my Cauliflower so I don't suppose there is much difference.
I sent my Family tree to my daughter. I bet she will have a surprise when she opens her emails. :-D :-D :-D Mel and Ann, I hope you don't think I have a cheek asking you for more help. Bless you both in advance ;-) ;-) ;-) <3 <3 <3
Those books might give you the wrong thoughts Gill, so warn you OH in advance. I have never read them, I am far too old ;-) ;-) ;-)
We ended up with a curry this evening, while I was reading this afternoon Ros prepared it all. Very nice it was too. I have washed and wiped up and cleared all down. Got the cups ready for tea in the morning, and my Asprin in a glass. It's a routine we have got into.
Have missed the news but did hear how those Hatton Garden Robbers buried some Jewells in the Cemetery. Saucy buggers !!!!!

Mel I found that taking both Co Codamol and Ibuprofen was the best thing. One is an anti inflammatory and the other a pain killer. You need both to work well.Yes you get constipation with the codeine in the Co Codamaol but I think it is worth it just to get rid of the dreadful pain.Eat Liquorice ,Prunes,All Bran or buy some Senna tabs. The thing with the hip pain is you need to take both anti inflammatories and pain killer together for it to really help. You need to take them for a week to ten days and regularly .
Eddie Izzard is on the One Show now so am going to watch ..Hannah and I are going to see him in February :-D

Jane, I have been watching "The Coroner" in the afternoon it takes place in such a scenic area, you must have happy memories from when you lived there and a comfort to know your parent's ashes are there as well. I wish they would have more programmes like it in the evenings, I always watch "Escape To The Country" afterwards.

I think we like the Coroner because they are simple stories without all the sex in them and not too much vilance (sp). I too like the scenery but then again I am down here anyway. I hope we are going to get some good programs this winter as there is not a lot I watch at the moment.
Like that pic of you lot on your day out Liz. You all look as though you are really enjoying yourselves.
Frank just ask and we will have a look for you.

Nor me Mel! I think the film is on Sky at the moment as well. OH keeps picking the books up up in the charity shops and asks if I'd like them so I just might just surprise him and take him up on it next time! lol That should make his eyebrows go up. Mind you he says he's not into anything that involves pain so he might regret it!!!! :-) Years ago books and other things out of the ordinary would be called 'kinky' wouldn't they. Things have moved on so far now you never hear that word.
Frank you know we will always help if we can and I've sent you an email already. :-)
Anne I often watch Escape to the Country too! Some of the houses are fabulous aren't they. I've seen the Coroner a few times, but must see if I can catch up with that one on the iplayer Jane. It'll be good to have a stick handy in case you need it. I'm glad I have my walking poles, I could always use one of those if I needed to.
Crikey I'm missing my beauty sleep and I need all I can get!! TTFN.

Morning all
It was absolutely pouring down with rain this morning, poor OH got soaked just going to the car, it seems to have stopped raining now, but for how long, who knows??
Thanks Jane for letting me know about the Japanese, I thought it was them, but wanted to check first. OH said they maybe English as their daughter lives over here. It was her who found our place online and is coming with her mum on Tuesday for the viewing, so I'll find out then if they are Japanese or not.
We only have the Premier Inn here Frank, so I don't suppose they'd have those slippers. I just didn't want to offend them if they took their shoes off, so now I know, I won't stop them if that's what they want to do. Might have a word with Premier Inn just in case, it can't do any harm to have some of those slippers here, although I'm not sure what size to get if they do have them :-S :-S
Pleased to hear you had a nice weekend with your sister Jane. Did you get lots of nice things when you both went shopping? Is your sister a nurse like you?
You look very smart in the picture David, you did well to crop it. I'd like to do that to some of the photo's I've got so I can put them on my family tree, but can't seem to find the right tool to do it.
That was nice of you Frank to send a copy of your family tree to your daughter, she'll be pleased with it, even if she doesn't say so and at least she'll know you're trying to help her. How is Ros today, is she on antibiotics? it's sounds like she's got a bad infection, hope she's feeling a bit better and is fit again, in time for Christmas. I haven't had time to start reading my books yet, but I've heard they're pretty good ;-)
How are you feeling today Mel, did you make an appointment with the doctor in the end? Hope you are starting to feel a bit better too <3
Hope things are better for you too Anne, it's never easy around anniversary's is it? Give Amy a hug, I found hugging my pets always made me feel better <3 <3 they always seem to know when you are feeling a bit down.
OH came in from work last night and said that he was tired as he'd only had a couple of hours sleep the night before. He's got a terrible cough which kept him awake, so we ended up having a really early night last night, which meant that I've been awake since 6.15am. It was nice to see OH before he left for work though as normally he's gone before I get up.
He's got a lot of days off next week and two together on Thursday and Friday, so we're going to put our Christmas tree up then. Sandra can't wait as we've left it very late for us this year with having all the viewings and the boiler to work around, so that's something to look forward to.
Going to get another cuppa now, see you all later. Oh, it's just starting raining here again :-( I knew it wouldn't stay dry for very long. BBL

Good morning each
The avatar makes me smile That boy is me 58 years ago. Within months I'd repeatedly held up my hand and told the teacher I couldn't read what he'd chalked on the board. It wasn't their hand writing, it was my eyes. Sight test at Hamblin's Ophthalmic Emporium revealed I need glasses, which I've worn ever since. Over the years I've considered contact lenses couldn't tolerate the irritation and then along came laser surgery. Great idea that came along too late for me, so I will continue to look like a geriatric Geordie in my Joe90 frames and bi-focals lol
The crop of the photo is surprisingly easy Gill. There is an edit thingy in My Pictures looks like a pencil. Click on that and you get a choice of options, one of which is crop. So I cropped me out of a 1957 group photograph. Then went to my account in GR and uploaded the cropped me as an avatar :-D <3
