Ann, we didn't have a Christmas meal but there was a lot of choice on the lunch time menu, I had chargrilled chicken with a mushroom and tomato sauce and a choice of chips, rice or salad, I had salad because I was eating again in the evening. Linda & Karen had the same, they are both on a diet, Ann, like me can eat
anything without gaining weight when we paid the bill we were all given a 20% voucher for a January meal, The pub was called the Golden Retriever not far from were I live.

Gillx Report 3 Dec 2015 22:45

I think I'll change my name to Ann/Anne I quite fancy a money off voucher for a meal LOL :-D :-D How lucky you both were.

Signing out now, got to be up early in the morning as I'm out with mum

Hello, good morning everyone.
Cold but dry up north with stiff wind. Been awake since before 4am Was having the most vivid dream when I awoke, can't remember what it was now, something about shaving. That cup was an unexpected surprise Mel just the size I like. There was also an unrequested catalogue.
This bombing of Syria was probably inevitable but Ariel bombing is never pleasant. I saw on the web they're talking about putting troops in. Take years to get the out. The big picture looks grim :-( :-S

That overnight flooding in Cumbria is dreadful. All that water damage when approaching Christmas, not nice at any time.
Their insurance costs will rise and never come down again.
Makes the properties difficult to sell, sad but true. I don't know if I need a haircut or a chiropodist and a dentist. Must look a sight.

Morning David and All, Evening Kim,

Got woken by the phone this morning. It was the delivery company to say the driver was outside the bungalow, and nobody seemed to be at home 6.45 am. Where the bloody did they think we were. It was my new toy "THE COOKER" it wasn't suppose to be here until the 17th December. The driver and his mate carried it in and put it in the lounge. They left Barnsley at 5.00 am. What a time to start work. !!! :-0 :-0 :-0 Anyway it's unpacked now, and just sitting there until I can get someone to fit it. Far to heavy for me to lift.

Ros has the hoover out and is hovering up all the bits of packaging.

All these freebees floating about reminds me I have £20.00 to spend at a Toby pub. Got them after all that trouble we had a few months ago. Might be good for Sunday lunch if I can't get the cooker fitted ;-) ;-)

Your Father Christmas is early Gill. Ours comes round the village the Sunday before Christmas. The Santa is a chap in the village who decorates the whole of his house and gardens every year for "HELP THE HERO'S" Raises loads of money every year. The big "TURN ON" is this Sunday at 5.30 pm.

I see the North are in for some terrible weather with gales and heavy rain. Very windy last night here, but a bit calmer now. The sun came up over the rooftops, now it's clouding over, so I expect rain is on it's way.

Nothing planed for us today. At the moment dinner tonight will have to be something I can cook on the hob. :-| :-| :-| Not to difficult as I have plenty to choose from in the freezer.

Today is "CUDDLE DAY" so don't forget to give loads of cuddles to everyone. !!!!

Morning all and evening Kim,

Suns out here but for how long I don't know. Last night whilst on hog watch the sky was as clear as a bell and all studded with bright stars. WE've had a couple of nights like that so why do we have to have the rain and wind during the day and the clear skies at night.?

Glad your new toy arrived Frank but what A TIME TO CALL ON ANYONE OLD OR YOUNG. Sorry hit the cap lock. Thats where I am lucky because oh does all the fitting etc here. He worked with his dad when he was young before leaving school and he had his own busines as an electrician.

Bet Liz or Ian cooks on their new stove today.

Must get on as I have loads to do today.

Frank

Frank Report 4 Dec 2015 11:02

Ros has rung Harvey, to ask if he will fit the new cooker. He will come up tomorrow lunchtime. I don't know whether to be around or go out till he has been and gone. I don't want any arguments. Ros will be here if I go out. I know I won't be of any help with lifting and fitting as there is only room for one person in front of the cooker unit.

My stomach doesn't feel right this morning. I feel I could be sick at any time. I recon being up so early has upset me. :-D :-D :-D.

Johnathan will be coming tomorrow to see why my printer isn't working with my new laptop. He is also going to fit the new security light. So if him and Harvey are here together, one can help the other. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Clear blue sky's now, but it's got a good nip in the air.

I am going to have a lie down on the bed for an hour, to see if this sickie feeling goes away.

Hope you are soon feeling better Frank. Good to hear your new cooker has arrived but your right, suddenly being woken up early has probably upset your system.

I am lucky that middle son Paul is a qualified electrician so he fitted my latest cooker

I've just popped down to the post box and posted a lot of my cards, just going to take Amy for her walk. The weather is bright and sunny here and a bit colder which I prefer.

Fiona Report 4 Dec 2015 12:17

Morning All, Evening Kim.

Must tell you this amusing story about my grandson Matteo.

Last night his big sister Sofia was writing out Christmas cards to give to her friends at school,
Matteo wants cards too. & naturally at 3 years old you can't write, Victoria has some spare so she gives them to Matteo so he just scribbles in the cards, and puts them in the envelopes also scribbles on the front of the envelopes, then watches Sofia put the cards in her school bag, Matteo puts his in his nursery bag,
, so off the both of them go to school this morning, he hangs his bag up and goes into nursery.
When Victoria goes to bring him home, Matteo gets his bag on his own accord and starts giving out his cards, Victoria was so embarrassed as of course there's no names on the cards, and people & children are standing around totally confused where the cards are coming from,
The teachers & then parents are smiling and laughing kindly at what is happening. But Matteo was giving his cards out like he had seen everyone else doing ,
Clever boy my grandson, What a hoot,
:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D <3 <3 <3

Frank Report 4 Dec 2015 13:31

Fiona it just shows what a three year old picks up. !!!! I bet Victoria was as proud as punch <3 <3 <3

I can't believe what happened this morning. Ros said it's Carolyn's birthday today, so I rang her. When she came to the phone, I started singing " Happy Birthday" she said thanks but you are 24 hours late. I felt such a fool. Ros gave her the card and present on Tuesday and has it on the Calendar as the 3rd, but forgot all about it yesterday. Mind you she was very busy with "Stitchery do" house work and Choir practice.

I haven't been able to get warm this morning. JI have had the heating on and a fleece hoodie, without the hood up. :-D :-D :-D I did lay down for a while but couldn't rest. I have just had a Cup of soup. which has warmed me up.

Ros has popped to get some odds and ends, as she won't be going out with Martine tomorrow, so she can be here when Harvey comes.

This evening should be nice Pat. Has the pub been decorated yet.?? Ours has. What type and size shops do you have local to you. I don't know the area at all.

Make sure you have everything tied down Fiona, David and Gill. The North are in for server GALES this evening and tonight.

How lovely your grandaughter is singing carols with her school. we don't get things like that round here as we are quite remote.

Fiona just shows you that little ones take notice of whats going on around them. I always think a second child learns a lot from the first one.

Off up the church now with the ring.

Afternoon Everyone
Crumbs I have missed so many posts since yesterday.
New cars,New cookers and Liz's new Woodburner !!!!!.Father Christmas doing his rounds on the float, little Matteo handing out his precious cards to all his friends.(Bless him <3 )

This it the time of year when all the little Children get so exhausted with all the practises for Nativities ,making decorations for he classrooms etc.I sometimes think too much is expected of them in this last term before Christmas.

Pat I hope you are all wrapped up warm for this evening.I think it has been really cold today..Have you warmed up yet Frank?.Maybe feeling a bit sicky and cold is all connected. What will your first Gastronomic Feast be with the new Cooker?
It miht be a good idea to make yourself a bit scarce when Harvey comes. If you are not feeling 100% anyway you might not be able to keep schtum .Do you think you will ever be on good terms again with Harvey?.It would be good if it is possible as it must be a bit awkward for Ros.

Well I had an hour of wonderful pampering htis morning.A lovely eye treatment and bit of a facial at the Beauty Salon. It was so relaxing .I had my eyebrows tidied too .
Then this afternoon I have been sat here at the dining table wrapping presents. My hands feel like they have seized up now :-S.So I am not doing any more today.

Thomas is looking a bit miserable as I have done his flea treatment on the back of his neck..I am a week late in doing it and noticed this morning I had a couple of itchy bites from something on my ankles :-S.But even though I have given him a good brushing through with the flea comb I can see no sign of anything.Maybe it was a rogue midge that got me.Anyway he is done now so anything lurking will be dead soon :-D

Lunch went down a treat yesterday with that soup I made :-D.I had the last bowl of it for my lunch today.I will be making that again. It is a nice winter warmer.
I have a bit of Rolled Brisket cooking nicely at the moment. It is one of these that has already been cooked and just needs 40 minutes in the oven.I've got Carrot,Parsnip and Beetroot Chips and roasted Charlotte Potaoes to go with it.
James is off to Jess tonight for the weekend so will be off as soon as he has eaten.

I heard last night that my lovely old Primary School Teacher is now in a Care Home.I felt really sad to hear this.Apparently she had a nasty fall back in the summer and spent some time in hospital and then in a rehab place. But it was obvious that going home again just wasn't on the cards.I am so pleased that I went to see her back in May when she was still at home and had that nice photo of us together.I am being send the Parish Magazine in which she has talked about her memories of her time as a Teacher in the village and her life in Wembury.I will treasure that.

The oven is pinging so that is the meat done.

Evening all,

It's been another bright day here ,hung washing out again and got it dry .
We have had the jets about today they make so much noise even though they are so high in the sky ,there were two chasing each other and at one stage they looked so close together , even though they are high in the sky they screech out and it makes you want to duck your head !!

What have you cooked in the wood burner oven Liz ? OH soon got it in place , i'd like to see a photo of it .

Frank you say you have to cook on the hob has your old oven had it completely now ?
What a time to turn up with the new one though :-0 when the phone rings that early it makes you wonder you it is !!
I bet you'll be doing one of your nice roasts in the new oven this weekend .
Never heard of cuddle day before ,is it some new ?
You might have a bug if your feeling sick and feel so cold ,there's sickness in the schools this way so son says .

I had to smile at little Matteo handing out his cards :-D bless him.

Hubby came hobbling home tonight he has had a lot of pain in his knee the last few weeks and today he said it's been really bad , i don't think he has twisted it he's now wondering if he needs a new knee :-(
I think it will be a visit to see the doc next week if he can get in !!

I have made a start on my cards today ,posted the ones for overseas and bought my stamps for the others .
I really should start wrapping but i need to sort out who has what as i have just dumped everything on the beds , i have presents for Katie's birthday on monday to wrap too she will be six and wants things from the Disney film Frozen .

The wind has really got up here in the last couple of hours and it's so cold out .

Yes we're using our new burner Mandy!! We've had such a busy day. The tv stand we ordered arrived this morning, so OH put that up in our bedroom. We both had the Dentist today, me, the hygienist, OH the dentist, so that took up a fair bit of time, then Tescos!! Back home, unpacked the shopping, both took Cas for a good walk, COT, time to see to Merlin. OH then had a snooze!! We're now having porridge and boiled eggs for supper. We won't be late for bed tonight!!!

Those names trip off the tongue David :-D Do all the cats come in together? Or is is it waiting for one after another?
I won't need to do any shouting tonight.Thomas is in and now shut in until the morning.
Chris cringes when I am out there shouting for him.But to be honest I really doubt my neighbours can really hear me.

James has just gone, and it is really blowing out there.I just hope he drives carefully and that there are no bad hold ups along the way.I think it is about 1hr 30/40 mins drive to Chislehurst.
Liz have you advertised your old Woodburner yet?Is this new one much better?

I think it is going to be an early night here.I feel like I am fading now.Not much on the box tonight. So it will be my Kindle .I am reading a good book titled What Alice forgot.
A lady who had a big bump on the head and has lost all memories of the last 10 years of her life. It's a good one.

Annx Report 4 Dec 2015 20:51

Evening All,

I'd like to see a pic of your new woodburner too Liz. It sounds like you have had a busy day one way or another.

Crikey Frank........that WAS an early delivery!! I think he would catch a lot of people in bed at that time.

Oh how lovely that little Matteo wanted to join in with handing out cards!! lol. He'd been watching carefully that you needed to make marks on the insides too!!! :-D :-D

We didn't get much beading done at class this morning........too busy laughing and giggling and stuffing our faces with sweets and biscuits then, just as I was getting on really well, one of my beads didn't have the second hole it should have had so I had to start all over again ! ;-) ;-) Still I've just about finished the snowflake bit tonight. We went to see the film Carol this afternoon with Cate Blanchett in. I like to see her as she's good. We've gone everywhere in my car today.Typical that it's full of fuel now it's going. :-S

I would have liked your meal Anne and will be eating a lot more salad when I start a diet after Christmas. I'm so disappointed to have gained back this year all that I lost earlier in the year, but with all that happened this year I'm not surprised.

I can just imagine your wife calling all the cats David!

The wind is back tonight and getting worse.

Off to watch the train thing with Michael Portillo now that's recorded.

There are lots of Christmas tree festivals round here this weekend. I can't remember any of those when I was a child.

Jane

Jane Report 4 Dec 2015 21:00

Ann ,I am going to see Carol on Monday with Fitz and then Tuesday with Chris to The Lady in the Van.
When do you say bye bye to your car? and sorry to ask (but what is your new car?)
I must have missed your post saying what it is :-S
I too will need to seriously think about and try to do something about loosing weight. It will help my hip.I just know that this will be one of the things the Dr will say when I go on the 16th !
