I say bye bye to my car Monday morning Jane. I'll be sad to see it go, but at least the new car won't scrape over the speed humps at the cinema like the old one did today! Even if I stop before crawling over them it catches the front valance under the bumper. :-S The new car is a Peugeot RCZ. The two films you are seeing are very different but I think you will enjoy them too. Yes, I know what you mean.......my knees would benefit from less weight on them. :-S

Morning All

Ann,I just noticed the time of your post last night .Or I should say in the ealry hours !!.You were up very late.So just 2 days before you get your lovely new car.You will be able to fly over the humps now LOL

Well I can't believe how dark it is..I woke at 6.50 when Thomas jumped off the bed.I thought it was about 5am so got a real shock to see how late it actually was.
I can hear the wind blowing out there.I think it will be a quick visit to Tesco and then straight home.
I hope everyone stays safe in this awful wind today especially those of you up North.

Cuppa time for me :-D

Good morning and thank you everyone. Still very strong winds here.

Behind my bed is a wall with a window, below which is a radiator.

Above the window is an air vent. When the wind id strong I can hear it through

the vent, sometimes if the wind is in the right direction I can feel it.

Not much of a view as I'm in the back bedroom, my fence and the bins is

about all, and the end of the next bungalow. At the other end of the bed is the opposite wall with a television and DVD plyer. To my right is another wall. Not much to say about it. To my left is a desk on which is my PC and monitor and printer.

Bathroom's in the next room and the dining room and living room and kitchen are
at the end of a corridor. Other side of the TV wall is the front bedroom, my wifes.
Off the corridor to our living room is another corridor at right angles goes to the front door and the street. Outside we are bordered on 2 sides by a lawn surrounded by the wall I jumped over March 2013. Above my bed is a ceiling other side if which is a large upper room extending to another upper room above the dining room and kitchen,.
Have a nice Saturday whatever you do with it <3

Gillx Report 5 Dec 2015 10:23

Morning all

Very windy here today but not half as bad as yesterday and we were OUT IN IT I left the bungalow at 9.30am and didn't get back home until nearly 7pm, it would of been later but the weather was so windy and cold we decided not to go onto the outlet village in Ellesmere Port. OH got me a lovely coat for Christmas, unfortunately it had fur around the hood which made the hood a bit to bit for me, so I've just spent the last hour taking the fur off and now I need to stitch up the edge. He also got me some ankle boots and a great book on making clothes, all in pictures so I can see how to do it, the book also has things you can make for the home too. He also got me some material I fancied, it's only a small amount but the colour of pale blue was so lovely I'm sure I'll find something to make with it. We tried everywhere to find a long cotton dressing gown but couldn't find one for love nor money. We were told that M&S on the outlet might have one, but like I said the weather had turned so bad we didn't make it there in the end, so will have to go back another day.

When I popped the TV on for my soaps last night, the wind blew so hard that it knocked the sky dish backwards and we lost the signal, luckily OH manage to put it back in place, but I was recording a Christmas film for Sandra as the time, so now I'll have to see if it repeats so I can record it again for her.

Yes, Father Christmas and his float were earlier this year Frank, it's normally the week before Christmas but Sandra was made up with it. We normally hear the music playing, so if it hadn't of been for the doorbell ringing we'd have had no idea it was passing our bungalow. Unfortunately we missed the people at the door as we weren't quick enough, they ring the doorbell for donations for what ever charity they are collecting for. It varies each year. Because they were slightly ahead of the float Sandra wasn't to late to see Santa though, so she was happy <3

Hope the weather isn't to bad where you all are today, I went outside before to check around and heard someone fixing, what sounded like a fence. I should imagine there'll be a lot of mending today, it was really bad here last night and quite frightening too.

I haven't read all the posts I missed yesterday yet, so I'll do that now.
See you all later <3

Good morning all, Evening Kim,

Can't stop as Ros is trying to find presents to pack for Harvey and family so he can take them back with him today. The place is in a right old state. Christmas presents stacked on the D/Room table. Trays and box's from the kitchen on the floor beside my computer. and a general mayhem.

Hope to have more time this evening.

Morning All,

It's still blowing well here too and kept me awake in the early hours. When we called in the village garden centre I said to Sally, 'you still have your roof then'. The tea room is in what was one of the big greenhouses and the roof is lined with blinds that weren't half making a clatter!!!! The sheep in the field behind were just on the move and not eating and seemed really unsettled by it. The neighbour to our right has lost another fence panel now, making it 4 in all and OH said the neighbour the other side had lost some trellis from the top of her fence. It's been really bad in Cumbria like David said and I see Workington was badly hit where I used to go with OH to matches sometimes.

Yes I was late/early? Jane and had taken the laptop to bed to weed out some of my emails. They swamp you this time of the year with all the offers!

Your place sounds very roomy since the alterations David. We often say we could do with just 1 more room but maybe the new shed/summerhouse will do just as well. When we clear out the garage we are hoping to put what's in the shed in there. With having no lawns we don't need space to store a mower so that helps.

Well OH is going to 2 local matches that are on despite the wind this afternoon and I shall go to one of the christmas tree festivals and I think there is a craft fair at one of the schools too. It will use a bit more fuel as well. BBL

Still blowing a gale here too.

Were the fence panels lost next to your garden Ann?

Done two lots of washing this morning and it is blowing on the line but keeps getting over the top of the gazebo thing the lines hang from outside the back door. The leaves I keep sweeping up from the back door are driving me crazy as they come in when you open the door.

Still hav'nt got round to any wiring yet but did cut up a lot of the yellow evergreen/everyellow I use so must wire some of that this afternoon.

Oh has had a good nap this morning and I have been up the shop. I saw a lady at the cross roads cutting her lawn. Their garden is immaculate always.......and goes right round the square gorgian house. They both seem to be out there doing something to it in all weathers.

Not long to wait now Ann just two sleeps. You must feel like a child on Christmas night waiting for thier presents.

Thanks for the card Gill it just arrived so now I have two, Franks which had a lovely stag on it in the snow and Gills nice old fashioned one. I shall have to put my string up now as oh dos'nt like them on the windowsill. Says he can't see up the garden.

David

David Report 5 Dec 2015 14:11

The foot print of the building is no larger or smaller. It appears larger internally because the wall separating the living room and kitchen and kitchen and dining room were removed and new kitchen installed. Where my back door was, was bricked up and a double sliding door put through the dining room wall to the exterior. New floor and stairs to the above. I wanted to sell and buy a house bungalow or within sight and sound of the sea. I doubt that'll happen now. :-P

Anne Report 5 Dec 2015 15:07

Good afternoon Everyone

It's still very windy here, it blew one of the bins over which was down the side of the house but apart from a lot of moss coming off the roof everything else seems o.k.The cats all love this weather plenty of leaves to chase. My three all come in at different times, Shadow is nearly always last and I am always having to call her.

I always smile and think of one of my friends calling her dog in from the garden, his name was Flash which was alright until one of her neighbours got arrested for flashing, after that she tried not to call him in

Thank you for your pretty card Gill, it came this morning. I expect Sandra is counting the days now, you were lucky with all the things you O.H. bought you and a pity you had to go home because of the weather but better be safe than sorry.

I don't have to diet because of my weight but I have to be careful being diabetic
I find that hard sometimes as I have a sweet tooth. I monitor my own blood sugars and seem to be managing all right. 6.2 last Sunday I only do it on Sundays as I have more time then.

Toby has just come in and made a B line for my lap, he is the naughtiest of the three, If cats get Aspergers that would be him.

Jane Report 5 Dec 2015 16:13

Ha Mel,you wouldn't have been able to hang anything out here today. It would have been whipped away before it even got on the line.Touch wood we have everything still in place except for some netting that was pinned down on the lawn covering new grass.Who knows where that has ended up :-S
I bet there are thousands and thousands of fence panels missing now too.
Ann I hope it isn't your neighbour with the little barking dog that has lost all the panels. You don't want ther dog getting into your garden.

Thankyou everyone for the cards .Anne I did have a chuckle at yours LOL.It's Purrrfect :-D
Thomas has nearly got blown down the garden with this wind behind him.He started with a stroll and ended up with a very fast trot :-S
I quite like these dark evenings as I don't have to stand yelling for him.I hope he will be in by about 6.30 and that'll be him in then for the night.

LOL Flash..I love the name Anne..But yes rather unfortunate for there have been an actual flasher.I can understand the lady not fancying shouting out that name in the garden !!!

I have had 2 flashers .One was an elderly man and the other was a young chap who 'mooned' at me as i was driving on the Motorway.he was in the passenger seat of a big white van.It wasn't the nicest looking of bottoms either :-S.I think he was a bit disappointed that he didn't get the shocked reaction he was hoping for.I just rolled my eyes and then kept my eyes on the road :-) What a silly arse :-D

David that is some work you have had done on the bungalow. Are you able to use upstairs at all? I was thinking of your leg and Ellens knees .

Gill you are so clever taking off that fur and resewing the seam again. Will you wrap your presents from OH to open again at Christmas?
I had planned to wrap some more this afternoon. But instead I have done a Normandy Pork Casserole for tomorrow night. As Janice will be here for a few hours tomorrow I won't want to be cooking then.So I thought it best to get it done today and then all I have to do in hte evening is Rice and some Peas :-D

Frank.I hope you haven't tripped over anything on the floor today !!!!!.It certainly sounded a bit chaotic there.

I wonder what Ann has bought this afternoon at the Xmas Fair Also she will have been driving around to use up more petrol.I remember when I got rid of my last car and it went to the Renault place I had forgotten to keep the petrol low.I was quite miffed to hand over the car with nearly half a tank full :-S Especially when there was only 40 miles worh of petrol in my new car.It wasn't quite a fair swap.

Another log on the fire is needed.

Neither have I!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been wiring and have cut a load of holly which I am going to wire now. I have done 6 lots of the 9 yellow stuf per wreath and now I need 24 bunches of holly, 18 bunches with berries on. 18 pine cones wired of which I have done some amd 18 bunches of ivy with flowers, 18 flowers of some kind and loads of bows. O and finish doing some more fluffy fir, probably about 24 bunches and then moss some rings. Think I have done four so 2 to go and there will be 6 rings done. Hopefully...................

Annx

Annx Report 5 Dec 2015 18:09

David do you want to swap addresses with me too as I have never had your address either. :-) :-)

They were the other side of our neighbour's garden luckily for us Mel, next to the garden the builder has bought. They've put a mobile toilet on the land now and taken a lorry load of soil away. Yes, I keep forgetting about the car then OH will say something like is he to take his shoes off in the new car and it will set me off again! He's also started calling me Stirling Miss and making vroom vroom noises!!

Jane, it's just some of the top trellis bits of fence that have blown off the neighbour with the little dog's fence. It's still too high for him to jump over! He's barking no end now parcels are being delivered most days and the cable people are working in the close. They've nearly finished now though and have been very quick to move their vehicles and equipment when we've needed to go out. They've made a very neat job repairing the pavements. Yes, I think humps will be far less of a problem with the new car. Mind you OH will mutter as he hates me nipping over humpback bridges and leaving his tummy behind........I don't even go that fast honest :-S

There was a man walking up and down the street outside the church where I parked. He'd obviously lost something, probably in the wind and was looking in front gardens, the churchyard, everywhere! He must have lived nearby as he was in shirt sleeves. I discovered the craft fair I had in mind was on at the school last night!!

I never dreamt I would be getting the new car so soon Jane or I wouldn't have filled this one up. :-S Still it is near the halfway mark now so we'll find somewhere to go tomorrow to look at Christmas decorations. As long as I leave enough to get to Burton on Monday. They were only going to put £20 worth of fuel in the new car at first, it seems they aren't as generous these days as they used to be, but then agreed to fill it up. I've emptied the inside of the car except the boot, but must remember to take out my Roy Orbison CD tomorrow!!!

The wind is still blowing a gale here and I saw 3 trees were down while I was out. I could do with getting some washing out soon.
