Hi folks,
In the immortal words of Oscar Wilde, the news of my death has been greatly exaggerated. I keep trying to find time to write some words but things seem to be a bit hectic lately and I just don't know where the time goes.Is it a getting old thing? I don't know!
Anyway, I just wanted to thank those of you who have sent us Christmas cards and to say a quick 'hello' before I disappear again. I've got a busy afternoon catching up but I will try and spend a little while and update you on what little news there is from this end.
Meanwhile, hope you are all OK and looking forward to Christmas. Personally, I've had about enough writing cards, putting up decs and wrapping presents! If that sounds like Bah Humbug, then you've got it right LOL.
Take care will write soon - promise.

Washing all dry and in the basket ready for ironing. I offered to get it in, but as always "I wouldn't fold it right"
Have been down the close and delivered all the cards to people we send to. A few more to go round the village. Ros will drive me round, and I will deliver.
Nice to see you popping in Will. Trust Carmel is well, and you are not getting stressed over Christmas.
So you are all done and dusted Liz, I have bought what I am buying and managed in my own way to wrap them.
I see the north are going to get another bellyful of rain and wind. Poor people, how on earth will they ever get over this. I see the Government are putting money aside to help. which is good. It want's some of these Multi-millionaires to put their hands in their pockets AND HELP OUT. The insurance companies pay outs won't cover everything for these poor souls.
Shin of beef in the oven in nice gravy. That can tick along until 6 ish. It should melt in our mouths. I have done Brussels, Parsnips, Carrots, Cabbage and Mashed potato's. So that should go down a treat. Might pop a Rice pudding in the bottom of the oven. That will finish the meal off. !!!
COT time. see you later.

Afternoon Everyone I am sitting here with an itchy face and hands..It's the Xmas tree :-S.I've just spent the last half an hour trying to get the lights right and I'm still not happy. The tree is wonky too.It has a bit of a wonky trunk :-S :-S.Nothing we can do about that.I had to shoot off to the garden centre to get a new Tree Holder as Chris said the trunk was too thick for our usual one.But the screws aer rubbish and not gripping properly so with a bit of jigging and whatever the tree is now in the old one again !!!.I will see if I can take this new one back tomorrow. I can't even think about decorating it now .So that is tomorrows job when it is raining. I feel a bit Bah Humbug like you William :-D I think I have thanked you all for the cards.I haven't named everyone but they have all arrived :-D :-D.
I must read all todays posts.Just haven't had chance yet today.
Mandy ,enjoy the Nativity tonight(or was it in the day)..I always had a little tear when my 2 were taking part.Hannah was always the proffesional and James was the one who looked to spot us and give a wave LOL...I have a lovely photo of him dressed as a Christmas Pudding :-D :-D.He hates it :-)
It's chilly willies outside now.So the fire is roaring away here and I have had to change clothes as I was almost expiring .In fact I had to go and sit outside for a whileto cool off. Chris has shifted a load of logs today .They were delivered this morning, the he has been doing some digging of turf down the garden so he now having a well desreved soak in the bath.
Frank you will soon get the hang of the new oven.Hopefully it will be a HOT dinner tonight :-D

Hav'nt been around as my Christmas present arrived this afternoon and oh has fixed it up for me. The new screen is so bright it shows all the specks on my specks.
No pain from my mouth today and tomorrow I have to go again to have my new bottom set fitted. Gosh I hope they are ok.
Have only done a little wiring just now of some ivy flowers and leaves. Just three lots of three and then I had a phone call from a friend who has a natural wreath each year for her sons grave and wants it before Sunday when the Carol Service is being held.

Yes David I used to live in Colwyn, right at the top of a hill, we had panoramic sea views. We lived in a three storey Victorian property with a massive basement that housed another kitchen and living room. It came in very handy when the girls had their friends around. The basement at the back was in line with the back garden and we had a massive 40th birthday party for OH with all the food laid out in the downstairs kitchen, the kitchen was 18 foot long and 14 foot wide, and the second living room was 18 foot long by about 12 foot wide with a lovely fireplace, it was very cosy in there. I wish I had a kitchen that size now, mine is really small in comparison :-( :-( The living room I have now is ok though ;-)

Evening all .
Been quite a nice day after a frost this morning .
Thank you Fiona for your card it arrived this morning ,also i posted all mine this morning so you should all have them soon .
That's good your mouth is not to sore Mel, are you having a bottom plate with the three teeth on ? Oh i see you go tomorrow to have them fitted . That sewing machine would have been ideal for Gill ,i wouldn't like to guess what the postage would cost on some thing as heavy as that !!
Ann we try to park on the end of the lines of cars on Tesco's car park but you can be sure that some one will come and park right beside you even though there are plenty of spaces else where !! I hope there not to much mud coming from the site where they have the digger !! you don't want that spraying up on your car as you go out .
Frank your poor SIL's daughter with all those heart attacks ,i hope she makes a good recovery ,it must have been quite a shock for you to hear that . Glad you got the cooker sorted ,you'll soon get use to the new oven .
Nice to hear from Bah Humbug William :-D it's a busy time of the year William and we know how busy you are looking after Carmel but it's nice to hear from you when you can find the time .
Well i too had a tear in my eye at Katie's nativity when all the Angels did their ballet dance and where singing so sweetly , little Katie was the smallest one there and sat behind an angel with the biggest wings i have seen :-D so it was a bit hard to see her at times , i did take a photo here before she walked over to the church . Little Lacey did her nativity this morning and that was lovely to watch too they are all three year olds and they all did so well, i didn't get a photo of her as they didn't want any photo's of the tiny ones . When we came out of the church this evening and it was dark you could see all the stars and Chelsea said " look nanny that star might be Toby " :-)

We both feel quite exhausted!! Our little boy is desperate for a particular watch, so we said we'd get it for him! Off I went on line to the particular shop, and could I get through all the fillings in?!!! Finally we got over all the alterations (!!) to be greeted with Bank Security!!! It was a complete nightmare, and has taken us both about two hours to get it right within the prescribed time!!! I'm very aware of security, but what a maze to go through. Suddenly it all fell into place, but I'm not sure what I did to find my way out!! I hope he likes it!!!! Our hospital appointment is on the 17th. Well, ignoring something won't make it go away, so we must just face it and hope for the best. I sent you an e.card Fiona, I hope it arrives safely. Gill, I'm sure you could find a second hand sewing machine on line. The manuel ones are really easy to work and quite cheap to buy. You do so much needlework, I should think it would be very useful.

Good evening all
Thank you for your card Ann, it is very pretty.
Frank, I hope your niece is being well looked after and doesn't have any more attacks. You must be careful too, you don't want any broken limbs for Christmas.
Mandy I'm pleased your granddaughters enjoyed acting in their Christmas plays it always brings a tear to my eyes when they are so tiny.
Gill you are very clever with your sewing and not having a machine, it's the one subject I hated at school even now I don't even like sewing a button on. Have you checked the prices of basic sewing machines on Amazon?
This morning I went to the Doctors' surgery for the phlebotomist to take some blood for my diabetic test, She managed to get enough on the 5th attempt so I was like a pincushion when I came out good job I don't mind needles. I can only have any tests or injections on my right arm because of my lymph glands under my left arm being removed.
It's a nice feeling Liz when the final Christmas presents have been bought.
Shadow presented me with a dead mouse earlier she let me know with a very loud noise when she still had it in her mouth when she realised her gift wasn't appreciated she quickly dropped it , the poor thing although dead was still warm :-( :-(
Jane it sounds like you will be taking Piroton do you always get this with a real tree?

Good morning all. Mel an Gill this sewing machine. Could not either end of the transaction not arrange a haulier to pick up and to deliver at the destination? It's an economical substitute for parcel post, Solves the problem?

Morning all and evening Kim,
Sunny out the back and cloudy out the front at the mo and windy too.
Hi David I have already thought of that but I really don't know if the machine is still up the potting shed at the top of the garden. I hav'nt been up there for about a year. It may have been pinched for all I know.
Dentist this afternoon and should get my bottom set. I hope they meet the top set this time. When they test your bite you have already had the injection in the gum so I don't know if I was biting right or not if you know what I mean.
I shall get on with my wreath this morning and then dentist this afternoon and we shall pop into Lidl on the way home as itis only up the road from the dentist.

I've had look on line Gill, and you can get a manual sewing machine for about £10. As David says, a carrier would be the answer for delivery, as they are much cheaper than the post! We had one donkeys years ago and it was brilliant for ordinary sewing and I only gave it away and bought an electric one because the manual didn't do embroidery and other fancy work. Windy day again, but dry so far. Nice peaceful day today just pottering about!

I had to sign in this morning with Password and email address.
Good morning David and Mel, and all you other LAZY lot, Evening to dear Kim.
I came on and posted at 8.00 pm last night. Lost the lot again, so I feel someone is trying to tell me something !!!
Horrible morning here, CLOUDS everywhere, and the wind is back. Could see rain at anytime.
Spoke with my SIL last night. Susan has been allowed out of hospital, under the care of her daughter. She has strict instructions that she MUST REST. and not do anything. So it's down to the family to make sure she does as she is told. ;-) ;-)
Spoke also to my Niece in the Boarders. They have had a lot of rain and wind, but nothing like further South.
Conrad will fly home from Spain for Christmas on the 18th and go back mid Jan. I couldn't believe the fare he has paid £35.00 RETURN. Alicante to Bristol. I couldn't get to London on the train SINGLE for that money.
Hope all goes well with your new plate Mel. Keep some Bongella handy if they rub.
<3 <3
There is a new parcel service being offered by ARGOS. Drop of your parcel pay the fee and they will deliver. I think you would need to look at their site for full details.
Gill if you want to buy a Machine Ros has one for sale "TOYOTA" easy stitch. 9 months old and done little work. Cost new £119.00 Yours for only £60.00 OH could buy it for your Christmas Present. It was too small for doing all the quilting that she does now.
Ros has gone off delivering Christmas Cards, and Tesco's for some bits.
Lewis will be picked up from his home about 5.00 pm. I will stay at home to have dinner ready for 6.ish, as Ros has to be a Choir Practise just after 7.00 pm. We two can have a night round the tele. Tomorrow night I might treat him to a Chinese Takeaway, and take him to the pub, which he likes as someone always treats him to something.
IT'S RAINING NOW !!!!
I am just going in the shower, I must make sure I hold on to the rail. ;-) ;-) ;-) Ros won't be a happy bunny if she comes home and finds me in a heap in the shower.
Have a good day all, does anyone know what happened to Kim in Australia ???

Afternoon All,
That's good Frank! I had to sign in too this morning and it wouldn't accept my password which I know is right so I had to reset it. I bet you were a bit bruised and stiff after your double flip on the steps!! I'm glad Susan is recovering and hope she takes notice of doctor's orders and does nothing!! What a bargain Conrad got with his flight!!
It's a right drizzly miserable gloomy day here so I've done a few errands and am staying in now and doing some beading next.
We went to the fav carvery yesterday and the boss was just walking inside as OH was getting out of my car. He asked OH if he had a new car and OH said. 'it 's not mine, it belongs to my good lady, she picked it up on Monday!'. Because we are regulars there, when they put their prices up for the Christmas season, the boss still lets us pay the usual offer price which is good. We still get all the Christmas trimmings and the bigger desert menu too. After lunch we went to the cinema (again!) to watch A Bridge of Two Spies which I wasn't sure I'd like but it was very good. So that was another day of not getting on with things I should be doing!! :-S
It's good your teeth are not giving trouble Mel. I hope it's the same when you get your plate in. I expect your fingers will be a bit sore now you've started your wreaths though. I know mine are when I twist wire for beading.
It is a bit of a game with some sites on the internet Liz and the same with all the bank security as you say. Still you got there in the end so he should be a happy boy on Christmas Day!! :-)
Ros's machine sounds ideal Gill if the courier isn't too expensive. You would find it so useful and you would be able to make so many things with it.
I find that too Mandy..........wherever you park, even if there are hardly any other cars, a new one coming in will park next to you! They must think their car needs company, or have to park neatly side by side or something but why don't they realise it will be easier to get in and out themselves if they park in a big gap. The other thing that often happens is although you have left a nice wide gap the driver's side of your own space, they still drive in next to you with a set 12 inch gap in their minds to leave between your and their car so will still be too close and right on the line between you with their wheels. :-S It sounds like the girls enjoyed their Nativity plays and I look forward to seeing their happy faces when you have time to send a pic.
Well, I'd better get on now. I was hoping the glass would be ready to collect today like they said but I've not had an email so it's not hopeful.

Ann that's very good of your carvery to keep your price as usual. Mind someone doesn't stand behind you and demand the same deal !!! ;-) ;-)
Ros will be off to pick Lewis up at about 4.00 pm I hope the roads aren't busy and there's not a lot of spray from the lorries on the Motorway.
