My experience of hauliers is they charge not so much in weight, rather on bulk and distance. There's a company called AnyVan are professionals at this caper. They compete with each other for your load. The bigger their vehicle the more they charge. I got a 3 piece suite shifted from Salford to Newcastle for£60. A sewing machine I'd guess would cost a lot less. Worth getting an estimate. You might be pleasantly surprised if someone's willing to do it and they already have a journey planned on that route. %3A-D

Here I am. I too had trouble getting on here today both this morning and just now. I could'nt even read a message sent from David till I logged in to the site again.

We always seem to get some kind of trouble when they put those baubles up the top of the page. We had trouble when we got the smiley face with the santa's had a few years ago too.

Good saving on your shopping Pat. I bet the wine won't last till Christmas either.

Good you still get the lower price at your fav carvery Ann.

Am having a bit of trouble with the new plate. If I open my mouth too wide it just pops up and out!!!!! We had a tea cake and a cuppa when we arrived home after shopping in Lidl. I could bite it ok but then it popped out into my mouth and it was hurting on the bottom next to where I have a tooth and where one came out. I got the nail file out and it is a lot better now but the top teeth are pressing down on the new bottom ones and she had filed them down for me while I was having them fitted but she has made them all dead straight and they don't look natural if you know what I mean. I can go back within 5 days if I am not happy with them and have an appointment for a review on 5th January.

David ,that is a great idea ,but to late LOL I have dinner in the oven. Not sure we can order Fish?Pie and Chips. But we do occasionally order a Chinese to be delivered.Or an Indian.
I think it is about time we did it again %3A-D

Pat I did see your post on FB.What a pity the pub will be shutting.I am glad you enjoyed your Grandson's Xmas play %3A-D.You have so many Grandchildren ,you woudn't be able to get to see them all in their Xmas plays!!

Hannah ordered a pair of very expensive pair of shoes for James's Xmas and 30th birthday. She ordered them this morning at 7am ......they were here just after lunch !!!!
They are from a local firm of shoemakers (Loakes).Frank will know this name
That was pretty swift service.........I am waiting for a delivery tonight. Not sure if it will arrive or not.I have tracked it and it is on the way so I wait and see.

Evening all,

Been dry most of the day but it's now raining .

Seems there's been lots having to do the signing in today ,i had to do it twice the first time it won't except it .

Hope your new teeth fit well Mel and you have a good bite now .
Oh so you are having a look in Lidl today they have lots of nice things in there .

How lucky was Conrad getting a return flight for that price Frank especially near Christmas .

Ann that good the carvery lets you have your meals at usual offer price ,nice to know they look after their regular customers .
Thank you for your card another pretty one .

I have finished doing the christmas decorations ,i have my garland on the mantel piece with some new lights on they are battery ones and much better than having the wires trailing about ,you just have to make sure you have plenty of batteries .
We also got some new lights to go out on the front lawn ,they are on little sticks that push in the lawn and have tiny little coloured lights that you can pull out to look like little trees, they are battery too ,with hubby's knee being bad there's no way he can go up a ladder to put lights up round the front canopy so these will have to do .
I might see if i can run a few lights down the side fence out the front ,no climbing needed for that .

I have a funny throat today feels like there's some thing in your throat and it makes you want to keep swallowing ,and i have been sneezing a lot too !! %3A-%28 nose is a bit stuffy too.

Oh didn't see you there Mel ,that's not going to be very good if your teeth keep popping out of your mouth %3A-0 sounds as if you do need to go back and sooner rather than later ,you don't want them flying and out and breaking do you .

That was good service Jane , i had a parcel today from Debenhams it was a coat for son i just had standard delivery so nothing to pay ,it was ordered on sunday and i have been tracking it ,it's so handy when you can do that .

Well they finally arrived at 6.35 pm. There was a car fire at junction 12. Ros was on the inside lane, when there was a rush of cars going down the hard shoulder. As she had been stuck in traffic for 45 minutes she decided to join them on the hard shoulder (NAUGHTY GIRL)

I had dinner all dished up and in the oven on the "WARMER" setting. So all I had to do was put them on the table when they walked in.

Ros had to be off for 7.00 to choir practise. Lewis and I will be picked up by Tony at 7.45. so will have a wipe over and get my shoes on.

Glad you got sorted Jane. !!!!

Good Evening Everyone

It's raining really hard here again but at least there is no risks of flooding not like those poor families who are getting it all over again.

The doctor rang me today, he wants me to have another blood test but after I have eaten this time. It's because my sodium level is low, I think it might be due to one of the tablets I take for high blood pressure, he said it maybe to do with my fluid intake.
I wonder if it was causing the dizziness I get sometimes when I get up quickly, we will see. I've made an appointment to see Amanda as she is the only one to get any blood from me, even it takes several attempts

Mel, I hope you get your teeth sorted out quickly so you can eat without worrying. I think I can remember my M.I.L. using fixadent for hers.

Frank, pleased to here that Lewis has arrived safely and you will have company when Ros is out. enjoy your evening at the pub.

That's good that you will be able to see more things your grandchildren take part in now Pat. %3A-%29 That was a long time to be in the dentist's chair, I bet you could hardly move your mouth shut again afterwards.

Well done getting your tree decorated Jane........is it red and white this year? I tend to have a mixture but not blue or white. I'm all behind this year (that would make OH titter!!) but must get things sorted soon.

I see Mandy's been busy decorating the place too. I love the sound of those lights on your lawn. People round here mostly decorate their trees, shrubs or fences with lights, not so much on the house walls anymore. There's one couple who do their whole house and garden to collect for charity. They've done it for 14 years, but just after it was all decorated this year the man had a heart attack and has since died. He was only aged 58. There's a couple in the next village advertising for people to go and see their decorated rooms. You then make a donation to charity. It's ok outside but I don't think I'd fancy strangers tramping through my house!

Mel, I would go straight back to the dentist and get them to make them fit better and make the edges of the teeth less perfect. You want them to be comfortable and feel happy with them. I know what you mean about the 'bite'. I never know just what they mean because if I bite my front teeth together on the edges the back ones don't quite meet. Did you notice they had changed the tree again on Genes? The flock paper was back?

On Saturday I'm nipping to Barwell church which is not far from FIL's care home. They are displaying the largest meteorite that fell there and that's ever fallen in the UK. OH says he remembers reading about it when it fell when he was 12 years old.

My back's been playing up today. I parked my car on an uphill slope at the carvery place yesterday and remember having a job to pull the seat forwards uphill after lunch. %3A-S OH has also managed to slice his thumb opening a tin tonight! I just bend the lid back when I've cut round, but he insists on twisting it off and that's how he cut himself. It bled a lot but the skin seems to have sealed back up so he has a plaster on it now and instructions not to fiddle with it.

There seem to be accidents and delays every day lately Frank. It's as if people are rushing about Christmas shopping and not concentrating on what they are doing. We noticed there'd been another smash at the island on the main road near us and lots of blue flashing lights this morning. We noticed the signs the other side of the island were all bent a few days ago.

Our neighbour has taken to parking his car at the bottom of his drive so the vans and lorries driving to where the builder is digging can't use his drive to turn round in. They have already damaged some of our tree branches, but then they do overhang the road.

Annx Report 10 Dec 2015 21:59

I hope you get sorted out soon Anne. It isn't pleasant feeling dizzy.

My friend has been to collect her glass this morning, so although they never let me know about mine, I shall be round there first thing in the morning to see if they have it! It will have been delivered to the school where we did it, only a stone's throw away.

I've not been very well today, I thought I was coming down with something with being shivery for the last two days. Hope everything is ok tomorrow and I'm feeling a bit better to come back on here.

Survived the night again, Good morning to you all..
Sorry to read you're unwell Gill. Stay out of draughts, have a nap when you're tired.
I'm hoping the rest of this thread's participants' aches and pains are easier.
Mel I think your mouth will feel less sore when the newness of the surgery settles down. Did you have many pulled? Once I had a partial pallete for my lower jaw, it had 4 teeth on it. Following my road traffic accident of 1994 it was in the locker draw for a long time. Then I fell out of the habit of wearing it. Hasn't affected my appetite.
A month or two back I was lying here chewing on an apple that was as hard as a turnip. I took a big bite and heard something crack, thought it was my jaw. I swallowed what I was chewing on. That crack proved to be a dental crown I'd had for years. As I say I swallowed it. Passed it a day or two later, biting my Rs it was.

Morning all

Feeling a bit better today after a reasonable nights sleep. Still a bit shivery though.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling to well either Mandy, hope you feel better soon.
Your decorations sound lovely.

It sounds like everyone has their decoration up now, so we all look Christmassy and ready for the big day.

I see you've changed your avatar again David %3B-%29 I meant to ask you the other day, how do you know Drew with him living in Colwyn, you're quite a distance away from each other? I've been watching him on Quest, he gets about a bit doesn't he?
He was in Cornwall last night %3B-%29 and went through Marazion. OH and I went there in the 90's to watch the eclipse and went up St. Michael's mount....lovely place %26lt%3B3

Hope you manage to sort your teeth out Mel, you don't want them popping out all the time %3A-%28

Your trip to Barwell Church sounds really interesting Ann, hope the weather is ok on Saturday for you both. It's forecast to snow here that day, but I think it's going to be mixed in with rain which will disappoint Sandra as she's still hoping for enough snow to build her snowman.
Good idea for your neighbour to park his car at the end of his drive, that'll stop the cheeky workmen turning around in it.
How nice your fav carvery are keeping the prices the same for you, I should imagine they put their prices up quite a bit this time of year.

I'm not sure what to do about a sewing machine just yet Frank, but thanks for the offer. It's our wedding anniversary in January so I might have a think about it and see if OH can afford one then, he's spent quite a bit of money on Christmas. He did get a tax rebate yesterday though, so you never know LOL.

Going to get a cuppa now, I'm so cold even though the heating is on
See you all later.

Very dull and wet here today. The watch has arrived %3A-D so our little boy should be happy! Am now going to wrap up the odd present! No decs yet in our house Gill, not till next weekend (19th!)
OH is updating tomtom, we shall probably need it to get to the hospital in Bath, as it's a b####r to get to, and a bigger b###r to get home from!!! Pity it's not Swindon, which is a piece of cake, but OH was transferred to Bath from Taunton when we moved as they are both in Somerset, so we're stuck with Bath for OH! Time for lunch!

Frank, forgive me, but surely you should be seeing your GP about your funny turns. It must be frightening for you and quite honestly needs to be got to the bottom of as they seem to occur quite regularly. It's rotten to feel ill, particularly when I'm sure it can be easily sorted.
I'm about to have a lesson on how to use tomtom!! I shall have to bite my tongue as I have to know how it works, just in case!!! After that a walk with you know who!!! It's stopped raining so no excuse!!
