Afternoon to all, and hallo Kim,
I woke Ros at 8.10 this morning as she had to take Lewis to work at M.K. then meet up with Julia for coffee and shopping.
I stayed in bed with the radio until 11.20. I've never been in bed that late. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) So haven't been long out of the shower. Not shaving today.
Haven't read the posts hope to catch up with those later.
Horrible morning here. WET AND WINDY (and that's just me) :-( :-( :-( :-( So I don't think I will bother with the pub today. The match is on BT sport at 12.45.
Will get myself a drink and a bite to eat. So will see you later.

I'm intrigued by your bedding Gill! Is it just sheets and pillow cases or do you wash blankets etc as well?! Sorry to ask only you always as us seem so busy with bedding!! Did Sandra like the e card? Wrapping presents today as we are taking sons into his business on Monday, and it's his birthday on 22nd, so that present has o be wrapped too! Had a bit of an issue with cellotape! but have man to find some more!

Sorry Liz, you did ask once before what my bedding was, it's a mattress protector 4 pillow protectors and pillow cases a sheet and a quilt cover, plus I have a quilted bedspread and two quilted pillow cases to wash, but those don't get done every time, so quite a lot. Then there's a quilt set on Sandra's bed, but again that doesn't get done as much as mine. I suffer from night sweats because of my age so my bedding needs washing quite a lot. It's starting to wear out now so I'll have to go and buy some more soon lol.
Yes Sandra loved her e-card and watched it a few times. I explained to her that the dog was the same as Cass except for the colour, Cass is a bit lighter in colour, she's asked me to say thank you.
Your cards arrived yesterday Mandy, Sandra loves the cat and also wants me to say thank you to you as well.
I've had my bath and done the dusting, now I'm just having 5 minutes sit down while keeping an eye on the Turkey, Sandra asked for sprouts with it, so I thought I would put the Christmas table cloths on the dining table and go the whole hog so to speak, apart from the crackers :-D :-D I think OH and Sandra would think I'm crackers if I did that.
I've put the Christmas Carols on and plan on doing a bit of baking later if I get the time, if not that might have to wait for another day, as I've got lots of washing to get through today.
Your son's birthday is on the same day as our Frank's. By the way, before I forget I've posted your Birthday card Frank and written birthday on the back of the envelope so you know it's not a Christmas card ;-)
Sorry to hear your having funny turns Frank, it's horrible when you can't really do much about it, but it sounds like you know that sitting down helps. It sounds like you're having fun with Lewis. Keep an eye on your DRESSING GOWN lol, you don't want it to go walkies ;-) ;-)
How much more wiring have you got to do Mel, it sounds like you're very busy with it? I'd love to see some pics of them when you're finished <3 How is your mouth now, better I hope?
It's still raining hard here, I now have my swimming pool back outside :-) I might get myself a glass of wine, it's very festive here, it's like a trial run for Christmas day ;-) :-D <3 but great to have OH home for a change to eat a roast with us, it doesn't happen very often, he's back in work tomorrow which is why we're having it today.
Well, better go and check the Turkey, see you all later <3

Afternoon All What a foul day it is.The rain seems t ohave stopped but the wind is picking up now :-S Those poor folk up in Cumbria are going to have another day of it by the look of things :-(
David it sounds like you had pretty decent food when you were in hospital all that time.Did Ellen ever have to bring food in for you?.I know a lot of relatives have to because the food is so grotty in some hospitals.
Well you were a lazy boy this morning then Frank.it must have done you good.I hope Ros has a good journey .I did hear of something on the motorway earlier.I think an overturned coach :-S
Gill,I hate to say this but I suffered years of hot flushes. It had to be getting on for 10yrs !!!!..Hopefully you will not get them like that.I use to spend ages sitting or standing outside, even having to get up from a meal and leave everyone for a while. It is horrible and the men have no idea how dibillitating it is.The things us women have to go through .Dratted hormones :-P
Well I can feel the tension rising here....The Tom Tom is playing up :-S :-S and Chris is getting himself in a bit of a flap now about the route to Hannah's new place tomorrow. He only bought it about 6 months ago so I have told him he MUST take it back.He say he doesn't have the box !!!!.As long as he has the record of purchase it will be fine. Silly billy. So I think in a minute he is going be going off to Halfords or somewhere to buy another. He gets himself all worked up when it involves driving anyway around the London area and we nearly always end up having words. Yes is is going now to buy another :-D(phew)
I bought him his main Xmas present this morning. It is one of the hats that looks a bit like a deer stalkers hat.But it is waxed and has Rabbit Fur around the ear bits and forehead. .It will be good in cold weather when he goes on his long walks. He'll look a right honey LOL..I showed it to James and he fancied it himself.I got it in Gilders in Montague St Frank. That shop must have been here when you lived here.It is all shooting, fishing, hunting kind of shop.Lots of guns and knives in there too !!!!!!!...There were 3 women in there all looking for something for OHs :-D
I need to put my shopping away and shove another log on the fire.

Bless, my lovely Sandra, she's just found out that Scrooge with Albert Finney is on TV tomorrow, she's know that's the one I like. I think Albert Finney plays the character very well, much better than all the other Actors who have played scrooge. Christmas isn't Christmas for me without watching Albert Finney in Scrooge, I watch it every year and even have the DVD <3 She's such a thoughtful daughter.

10 YEARS JANE, my neighbours daughter said it was 5 years of hell, no one mentioned 10, I'm going to make an appointment with the doctor to see if I can get something to help, it's horrible, but luckily for me my OH is very understanding, well, as understanding as he can be. I'm the same I often stand by the back door,

Yes, it can be very debilitating and seems to go on for years!! I went through all that when I was 43! it was the year my mother died, closely follow by my stepfather 8 months later, so in all the upset, I didn't notice it that much to start with, but as the years went by it did get a bit of a problem!! Let's hope your GP can help Gill. Going down to the barn to get the decs!! and the tags for the presents, so we're beginning to get into Xmas mode!!

Jane OH found TomTom really quite complicated to set up! Much swearing and general carry on!! Once it's done though it's so easy to work and so efficient you wonder how you managed. When we went to Surrey, it was a real boon, as we hadn't a clue where son now lived, and hey presto it took us there with no problem at all. So don't be surprised if you hear more cussing! It is well worth it in the end!!! Fish pie is cooked, just the spuds to do, then that's supper taken care of!

Afternoon again all,
I have had such a quiet day. I didn't go to watch the match, I saw it on T.V.
We didn't go out last night. I rang the place to book a table. He then informed me that prices have been increased by £2.50 per head as it was coming up to Christmas. I politely told him what to do with his price increase, and ordered a takeaway from our usual Chinese. We had soup, spring rolls, BBQ spare ribs and THREE main courses for less than I would have pain in the restaurant. I don't mind paying for a nice meal, but won't pay extra because they decide to put their prices up.
Ros dropped Lewis off and met Julia for Coffee and a walk round the shops. Ros found a nice jumper that Julia bought as a present for Christmas, and of course MADAM found a pair of trousers to go with it. ;-) ;-)She got home about 3.15.
We have just had a call from the young lad who lived next door but one. He had been to the play area with his two friends, and thought he would call in to see how we are. What a lovely thing for an 11 year old to do. Both Ros and I were over the moon.
How old will your son be on the 22nd Liz, ?? I am pleased you are getting into the mood for Christmas, Like Ros and I, being on your own and not having visitors for Christmas, it takes a bit more effort to do things.
Jane, Gilders weren't in Kettering when I lived there. They only had the shop on Wellingborough Road, Northampton, where I bought a lot of my fishing tackle.
You and all this washing Gill, no wonder you are talking of having to buy more. Ros washes sheets and pillow cases every week, and the throw cover now and then.
Lewis is a little Bugg##. When Ros asked him where the towels were that he used for the shower. He said in the cupboard under the sink. When she got them out they were SOAKED. If she hadn't asked we would be trying to dry on wet towels tomorrow morning. :-P :-P :-P :-0 :-0 :-0
David you are like me. I love my tea in the morning. I have a big china cup that I refill three times each morning. It mist be a pint and a half. !!! Then if I have a breakfast later I have another one, no wonder I am always wanting the toilet. ;-) ;-)
What do you think GIRLS. Am I going through the "CHANGE" as I am forever getting these hot flushes and have to strip off, as I am at the moment. ;-) ;-) ;-)
There is enough Chinese for Ros to eat tonight. I will have some ham egg and chips, which is one of my favourites.
Thank you all who have sent cards, and for my birthday ones that Ros has put away, so I am not tempted to be nosey.
I might get to read all the previous posts, later.

Liz Chris has come home with a satnav called Garmin?.He was told it is much simpler to set up than a Tom Tom.So we will see.I think Chris has set up the route we need to do .Have to say I am not looking forward to the drive in the morning LOL.I will be very relieved when we arrive :-D.'Lunch' is booked at a pub for 12.30 so we will need to get our skates on in the morning. David we always carry a big book of maps with us and a A-Z..Trouble is roads change what with new builds etc,so it is too easy to get lost. I think a chill pill sounds like a good idea tomorrow .Shame we don't have any lol
The wind is still blowing here .I can see the trees bending :-S. Thomas has come in far too early so I might have to chuck him out again in a while.
Nice 'dinner' tonight Pork Chops with Apple and Mustard Sauce.Charlotte Potatoes,Creamed Leeks ,Baby Carrots and Broccoli :-)

Good afternoon everyone
Richard and I have been putting up the Christmas decorations, hopefully the cats will leave the trees alone, there is a large one in the conservatory, one in the hall and a tiny one on the upstairs landing none of them fresh as I found with the central heating they loose their needles too quickly.
Gill I'm sorry you are suffering from the dreaded hot flushes, I did read a while back ladies that suffer like you have less chance of getting breast cancer, there maybe some truth in this as I didn't really have bad flushes, I know what I would have preferred.
I have only just read yesterday's posts re what everyone calls meals. Breakfast of course, then lunch unless it was the main meal and then it was dinner as on a Sunday, Mum always called Sunday tea as high tea as we usually had something different, but otherwise it was dinner in the evening.
David when Peter was in hospital he had really good meals as well also ordered the day before. For my breakfast I usually have tomatoes and mushrooms on toast followed by plain Greek yogurt and blueberries. I don't eat a lot at lunch time as this keeps me going for quite a while..
David you must be the first of us to have snow we tend not to get much here.
Paul has a sat nav in his car and I don't think he had any trouble setting it up.
Mel I hope your mouth is less sore now at least it should be O.K. for Christmas
Not a nice day here weather wise. had to have the lights on all day and its windy again not much rain though
