Morning Everyone
I was so tired last night after our visit to Hannah I had a fairly early night.Well the Garmin got us there and back without a hitch :-D :-D..I was so relieved LOL Hannah's new place is very nice, although a lot smaller than the last house.Mind you they were spoilt with that one as it was huge. They still have a bit of sorting to do like finding places for some things like a cycle !!! which is in the dining room also there was the largest clothes horse I have ever seen.As Hannah said all that would be moved somewhere else when thay have anyone round for a meal .Lunch was delicious at a nice pub at the bottom of Alexandra Palace. There was also a Food Market that we had a wander around. The weather was a bit cold and miserable though so we didn't hang about.
I am off out to get a few jobs done now.The Post Office is one place.I bet the queue will be nearly out the door :-S I've been up since 6.30 and have actually got quite a lot done.
Hope there is enough wood for your village Gill :-)That will keep you busy
:-D

Morning Mel, didn't see you there. It sounds like you've been very busy. I'm sure the rings will sell, like you said it'll be next week, just before Christmas.
I was wondering where you were as you normally come on and say goodnight. Glad to see you are ok :-)

Morning Jane
Pleased to hear you got to Hannah's ok and the sat nav didn't let you down. I'm sure Hannah will be straight soon enough, it takes time but she'll soon have it the way she likes it.
6.30 is early, you'll be needing a little nap later LOL
We've just been looking at the wood and think it might work, although it's a bit damp with being in the garage for so long, so once it's built I'll have to pop it in front of the radiator to dry out. I don't fancy attaching electric lights to it while it's damp, otherwise I might be lighting up myself :-D :-D

Morning my little fairies and my Australian one,
Well, I have handed out the OLIVE BRANCH. I have invited Harvey and Julia up for DINNER next Sunday. I think it might be a Rib of Beef, with the trimmings. It's a thank you as much as anything for coming and fitting the cooker last week. I think Ros is very pleased, and hopes the bad feelings are over..
We were halfway through dinner last night when the phone rang. It was Ros's God mothers daughter to inform us that Nancy had passed away at 2.00 yesterday morning. Needless to say, no more dinner was eaten. Ros was very upset for a couple of hours. She lived in the I.O.M. so there's no chance of us going to the funeral.
I had already ordered a bouquet of Flowers for her to be delivered Christmas Week. I have emailed the company, and they are arranging a credit. When we know when the service is, I will order a wreath to be delivered.
Last night was very damp and foggy, this morning seems reasonable. Only a slight breeze but no sign of sunshine.
So it looks like you have your box then Gill. Lets hope OHs DIY holds up lol lol
Mel You don't normally have any trouble selling your wreaths at the shop, do you ??
Glad you got there and back safe and sound Jane. Is Hannah coming to you for Christmas ??
Ann, My ex had a lot of trouble with your "Monthly trouble". Many times she had fainted on the train journey to the City. I always travelled with her so could look after her. Once she passed out at her office and the Manager rang me and an ambulance, by the time I ran to her office the ambulance was there, and we went through the CITY with Blues and twos blaring to St Thomas's Hospital. They discharged her later the same day.
Hope you enjoyed your walk with Cas Liz, how far do you take her every day ??
Well it's NOON and I am still in my dressing gown. So off to the shower and shave and get dressed.
:-0 :-0 :-0

Iv'e got a slit in the side of my thumb. Knew I should have worn my gloves yesterday while wiring and putting the rings together.
Glad you found the fire surround Gill now once it has dried out you can start putting it together. Does Sandra help or just watch?

Not too far Frank. She has a good run in our paddock first thing before Merlin goes out onto it, then I usually take her into the stubble field at he back of us about 11ish for a good race round, then we take her in the paddock again after Merlin comes in about 4ish. Other than that she plays in the garden or up and down our passageway, so she's quite a lively girl!!! She does sleep a bit, and her crate is a godsend!!! I hope you make up your differences with Harvey too Frank. Life's just too short for terminal bad feeling. Fiona, I sent you an e card, but I'm not sure if you've received it. Some they go, sometimes they don't as Ann knows from experience!!!! Post is getting very late, it's not getting here till after 1pm now, it's usually about 11.30.

Sorry to hear about Nancy Frank, pity you couldn't make it to the funeral :-( :-( Hope things go well for you and Harvey. Life is to short to hold grudges and he did do you a good turn. Maybe that was his olive branch to you.
It does sound like you should of worn gloves Mel, hope the cuts aren't to bad.
Cass certainly gets her exercise doesn't she Liz? No wonder she sleeps a lot, bless her.
I've had a couple of good nights lately David, but that could be because we don't put the heating on in the evening anymore, just the morning and a little bit in the middle of the day if needed. It's been great and I feel much better for the extra sleep I'm getting.
OH has decided not to use the old fire surround now as it's to damp, so he has found a 1000mm kitchen unit instead. It's almost the size I need, it just needs to be lowered a bit and some taken off the back as it's a bit to deep. It's white which would work better for me too.
Well, you could of knocked me down with a feather. OH's works have just rang to see if he can work New Year, which he's agreed to with having Christmas off, but then to our surprise they have given him Thursday off instead of him having to work an 8-8 shift. This has worked out brilliant for us as he wanted to see his mum and give her Christmas present to her and would of had to go early on Friday instead as he was working Friday afternoon, so now he won't be clock watching and can spend more time with his mum. Sandra is pleased to as her nan gives her money for Christmas so now we're going into Ellesmere Port after seeing OH's mum (she lives there) so Sandra can buy herself something with her Christmas money. It also means I can take another look in the "Works" as it was closing when we went last time so I didn't get a chance to look around properly. Talk about lucky :-D :-D
I've popped the kitchen unit in front of the fire to dry out as it was slightly damp, no where near as bad as the fire surround, which is good, so I've run myself a bath while we wait for the wood to dry. See you all later

Yes, Cas is lively Gill, but luckily our paddock which is half an acre is at the end of our garden so it's no distance to take her, and the other field is outside our back door!! All you have to do is throw her dummy for her to find and bring back for about 10 mins, and she's tired! So it's not too arduous!! On Wednesday she's out with OH beating all day! That should tire her out !!! OH has his six monthly PSA test tomorrow morning! We seem a bit full of hurdles at the moment, shall be glad when all these tests are done!

Afternoon everyone
Liz,Cas is a very lucky young pup to have such great space to run around in :-D.it makes me so sad when I think of the conditions thousands of puppies and dogs have to live in and suffer terribly. :-(
Sorry to hear that Nancy has passed away Frank :-(..That was a good job you managed to cancel the bouquet .It is sad though that it is now going to be a wreath :-(
I am so glad that Olive Tree has ben offered :-D..Clean slate now :-D
Gill that ws lucky OH found the Kitchen Unit you can use instead of the too damp fire surround.Great too that he now will have more time to be able to spend with his Mum before Christmas.
Mel ,have you managed to make a dental appointment? You can't have such an uncomfortable mouth now leading up to Xmas.Youll need comfy gnashers to enjoy all the goodies :-D
David I also have 2 dressingowns hanging on my bathroom door. One is a thin summer one and the other a nice warm long fleecy one.
Chris has just had an early 'dinner'.Baked Potato with Tuna (yuk yuk) as he is going to the cinema in Northampton for a film that starts at 6. He is going to leave in plenty of time today and hope that there are no accidents on the roads this time. This morning he worked so hard to make Flatbreads with herbs in.They were a total disaster :-S :-S.So it has made him a bit grumpy. He is not used to failing at anything.I give him 10 out of 10 for trying so hard.I don't think I would have attempted that.He won't be trying again LOL(as it all ended up in the bin :-( )
I am desperate for a cuppa.

We're having baked potatoes tonight with cold lamb and salad. We both love Tuna Jane! and often have it either with salad or as a bake!! Our youngsters have it from time to time with salad cream in a sandwich! Its actually quite delicious, and filling!! Yes, it is awful what some animals have to suffer. Quite shocking in fact, so Cas is a fortunate little girl, particularly as like all youngsters, she is a lively girl, so you have to be pretty patient and firm with her. I think all that early training when she was a baby has paid dividends, as she is fairly(!!) obedient, clean as a whisker, very affectionate, and she certainly loves a cuddle! (don't we all?!!) I smiled about the super chef!!!

I have just had one Jane. lol
After getting showered and shaved Ros asked if I wanted to go to Tesco with her. I said YES as I needed to get her a Christmas Card.
While walking around, which is unusual for me. I bought some Marmalade and runny honey for when I do the HAMS next week. I also looked on the meat counter to see the price of RIB of BEEF. Sitting in the cabinet was a piece with FOUR RIBS. Prices at just over £35.00. I said to the assistant I would like TWO RIBS. which would be ample for Sunday Dinner. She cut it in half and asked when one I wanted. She then weighed it and said that will be £37.48. My mouth must have dropped open as she asked what was wrong. I said how come the four ribs was only 35.00 odd Now you want £37.48 for half of it. She then went on to say someone must have missed priced it. So me being me. I said THAT'S NOT MY FAULT. WHERE'S THE MANAGER. Out came this woman, and said it was a mistake. I again repeated myself. I said are you going to sell this to me for half price or not. The long and short of it I came home with a joint weighing almost FOUR KILOS for £16.00 odd. It looks a beauty !!!! When Ros paid for her shopping the girl on the till said YOU GOT YOURSELF A BARGAIN THERE. Customers behind Ros were trying to see what her bargain was. So I am well chuffed ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
It is raining quite hard here now. So poor old Chris. will have a wet drive into Northampton, to see his film. I must try to remember to take Ros to that Cinema Jane, not that I go very often.
Carolyn and John have invited us over to Tenerife from the 8th to 15th January.. She sent an email and said the return flight from East Midlands was £131.96 for both of us. I am going to check the flights and get them booked. Conrad will have to bring us home from Devon on the 6th. I just hope the price is right.
So it all go at yours then Gill. when are your getting your village put together ??
Poor old Ros, see keeps having a little weep. She has been writing to Nancy since she moved to the I.O.M. over FIFTY years ago. Nancy and her husband did make the odd trip to see relatives in Earls Barton. This was when I first met them. She has written to her daughter this afternoon, so that's upset her again.
One of my favourites for DINNER. Cold Pork, Chips and Pickle. Ros will have coleslaw with hers.
Tony is taking me to the pub tonight. Leicester play Chelsea. So should be a good match.
Have a nice evening all, I might pop in later.

It certainly pays to query something that been pricedup wrong then Frank.Especially that Beef :-D :-D.Well done you. That will be a lovely dinner for you all on Sunday. I don't know if I have mentioned this man before.I think I have. Well his name was Ray and he was working in Tesco right up until earlier this year at the age of 87 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.Such a lovley man.He was on the checkouts.Tesco was his second home and he just loved all the company.Sadly he has now just passed away :-( :-(....There is to be no funeral at his request ,but ther will be a memorial service on the 7th Jan.I might just go along as I am sure lots of staff and customers will. Not sure what family he has except a son in the USA who wasn't very close by all accounts.
I have finally finished wrapping James's presents now.Just got Chris's to do.I was thinking of doing them this evening while he is out but by the time I do dinner for James and Me there won't be time. We are having giant Ravioli stuffed with Chicken and Rosemary.I will probably just have Parmesan Cheese grated on and James might have some kind of sauce.(he is not a fan of Parmesan).Might pop some Garlic Bread in for him too as I know he will be mighty hungry as he always is when he gets in from work.
Liz i actually felt really sorry for Chris when those flatbreads didn't wok out.He has spent 2 hours making them .The problem was that they had completely got stuck to the Greaseproof paper !.Neither of us could really understand why. As I said he cannot stand to fail at anything.Hannah is exactly the same.I remember when she failed her driving test on the first go.She was so upset and said she had never failed at anything. As I said 'it happens' and sometimes it is not a bad thing. It happens to everyone at some time or another.
I am not a Tuna fan Liz.I can eat tinned Tuna if pushed. But it has to be a hard shove .My Sister does Tuna Quiche quite often.I have never tried that one.She knows I never will lol
Tomorrow I am going down to Fitz for a bite and to have a look at the Tree :-D.It is Chris's day to be out for lunch .I saw Fitz this morning in Tesco and he didn't look great. He is having sleepless nights because of really painful arthritis in his hands.
Liz is it a blood test for Ian tomorrow? and then the bigger appointment on the 17th? I have my Drs appointment on Wednesday 5.30.That will feel so weird for me :-S
Gill I did see Strictly :-D :-D..I will keep quiet too just in case as you say peopls still haven't seen it.
Chris has just rung to say he has only just arrived at the Derngate. So that was well over an hour :-S :-S..He said he is going to have a glass of wine before the film starts.
I have no idea where Thomas is.Probably sheltering somewhere from the rain.he has been out since about 12.20.So a long time for him these days. I found him standing on top of the woodburner last night !!!!.Good job it wasn't lit LOL He was investigating the flue and came down with a good few cobwebs on his head :-S..I have now had a dust up there :-D
Mel how is that split on your thumb?Painful I bet.Can you slather it in Savlon or something and cover it with a plaster tonight.I do hope that the wreaths sell after all that hard work you put in.
