The notion I expressed yesterday for raising sums of money was just a notion, don't fret. I wouldn't touch a brick or a tile of this bungalow, was hard enough to obtain.
I feel "crashed" today. haven't slept well at all at night lately, then being sleepy during the day. Rs first and upside down and back to front at times.
Those images of MIR orbiting. How come you can see MIR orbiting above white clouds above a blue sea. Other Where is the remote camera? Other images show it in darkness. Where is the remote camera?
Weather is better today, but still cold.

Morning all and evening Kim,

Thanks for the card Kim, it arrived yesterday while I was out.

Weather is the same today dull, dreary, windy and not nice generally.

Its working on rings today and perhaps some arrangements.

magpie Report 16 Dec 2015 10:49

Hope the Dr's appointment goes ok today Jane. Dull dreary morning here and quite windy. OH out with Cas, so I'm having a good clear out and clean-up ! Washing the kitchen floor, wiping out cupboards, bathroom, and even moving the bed to clean under it!!! Oh, and I've washed the kitchen windows too! It's all so much easier when the bungalow is empty, as you can just get on without interruption!!
Must get Merlins field cleaned too, then we'll be up together for tomorrow.

Annx

Annx Report 16 Dec 2015 11:42

Morning All,

Oh you are so right Liz! If they aren't standing in the way, they are chatting or asking you what's wrong because you are dashing about to try and get done quickly or they are putting something down on a top you've just cleared ready to clean. :-S Mine is always in the bathroom when you want to clean in there.......then it's a no go zone for half an hour and by then I forget about it!!! You sound as if you have got on really well this morning.

That's good you will be having a nice sunny break Frank......a bit hot for me though, but you'll be able to get your shorts on! That's a very good saying about 'no pockets in a shroud Anne'. I haven't heard that before.

Yes, send a pic of Fitz's tree Jane, :-) I always enjoy it too.

David I was awakened after 2.00am this morning by bumps and bangs outside. I peeked outside and there was a van next door for a firm that unblocks drains!! I hope it wasn't something the buildr did!! :-0 :-0

David

David Report 16 Dec 2015 11:56

Ensure next doors blocked drain doesn't block yours Annx, it all goes to the same sewer pipe........... :-S

magpie

magpie Report 16 Dec 2015 12:11

You absolutely hit the nail on the head Ann!!! If it's not a cuppa coffee, it's a chat about something, putting things down where you want to go, unplugging the Hoover when I'm trying to get on! (This is considered terribly funny! It's sad really!!) and the usual 'where have you put, have you seen' comments!! So much easier on your own!!
I've just about finished now, just got to mend a split seam in a shirt, then apart from supper, that's it !!!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 16 Dec 2015 12:25

I totally agree as well Ann. If you want to go to the loo quickly they are always in front of you walking as slowly as they can. Comes in and turns the bloody telly on during the day. Can't sit at the table for breakfast without the telly on. Turns the washing machine off just as its about to finish and then I forget to turn it back on till its too late to put it out. I could go on and on but I won't as I want to hoover while he is in the garden doing his pond filters.

Frank Report 16 Dec 2015 12:32

Morning all, Evening Kim,

Started off bright and sunny with a fair breeze. That's all gone now, and the clouds are becoming lower. :-( :-( So no doubt rain is on it's way.

Ros has been talking to Jan on Skype this morning. Conrad STILL hasn't got his Passport. From whey information they can gather. It's in Madrid and in the system. Whatever their system is. He has a flight booked for Saturday. So fingers crossed it arrives in time. That's the trouble with a Foreign Country, (a) you can't speak the lingo and (b) you don't have any way of chasing things up through the system.

Jan's G'daughter Ella has lost all the front top teeth, Ros saw her on Skype. She is getting very excited about Christmas Now. !!!

Mel, I'm pleased that shopping wasn't such a choir , once you got started. That's it for another week. ;-) ;-)

Good on you David, It's nice to dream what one could do if we had plenty of money. A round the world cruise, would suit me down to the ground. There are lots of Countries that I see on NAN GEO. that seem very attractive to visit, but I think you do see more on these programmes than you would see in real life. But they can't stop you dreaming !!!!

Hope everything goes well with the viewing today Gill. The agents don't give you much notice, do they ??

So you are a "HAPPY BUNNIE" then Liz, with your new gold chain. Look after it.

Julia's daughter came up from Cornwall last Thursday. Spent the day in M.K. Friday, and went to the "SNOW DOME" You can do skiing, snow boarding and the likes. She was wearing a diamond necklace, took it off and asked her boy friend to put it in his pocket. He was wearing a jumper with a pocket in it and a zip. He put it in there for safe keeping. Later when she asked for it back, IT WASN'T THERE. The pocket had a HOLE IN IT. They went back over where they had been, but no luck. So someone had a nice early present..

Oh Ann, what a wake up call, they could have crushed the main drain with their Heavy goods vehicles, Diggers etc. There is certainly GOING TO BE A LOT OF MUD AND MESS ON THE ROADS. (sorry) if all this bad weather carries on.

I too had a bad night again. So much so, I sat in the armchair and dropped off at 9.30 this morning. Ros said I was snoring away for an hour.

Just had the post arrive. In it was a reminder from the tax man, to say my tax is due by 31st Jan 2016. "MERRY BLOODY CHRISTMAS" TO THEM.

Ros is at the hairdressers this afternoon at 2.00 pm I expect she won't be home till after six, as she is having the "FULL MONTY"

Thanks RUBY your card turned up this morning.

Must go and sort out what to do for dinner tonight. Something that can be kept warm as I'm not sure when madam will be home.

See you all later. That space prog. was good last night.

At least I don't have the telly during the day Mel, neither of us wants it on before the news at 1pm, and then it usually goes off till 6pm. Sometimes we watch a film or National Geographic on a wet afternoon, but not always. Our washing machine is in the utility room, so you can't really hear it; mind you, you know who would touch it at his peril!!! My real gripe is OH just being under my feet and hindering me!
Oh dear, Frank, that was a serious loss! and someone else's lucky day! Yes, I'm really pleased with my chain, he's not a bad old stick really!!!!
Making lamb casserole this afternoon, with dumplings!

Thanks to Maureen for your card. Disappointed it was'nt one of your masterpieces but I know you have been extremly busy with your builders hat on.

Hoovered right through this morning and then went out and finished off the other two rings so now thye only have to be priced and now I am going to havve a go at some posy type arrangements with a candle in the center.

Bet Cass is having a great time around the woods with Ian beating. Get the old towels ready for when they come abck Liz.

Cold pork egg and chips for us tonight so nice and easy.

Bought a nice lot of steak and kidney yesterday so may make a nice stew tomorrow.

I did'nt know Gill had another iewing today!! Have I missed a post?

Hope Jane gets on ok at the doc's.

Frank Report 16 Dec 2015 15:04

Shin of beef in gravy, Carrots, Parsnips, Cabbage and Mash for us tonight Liz. I choose that because if she' home it won't spoil.

Have been playing with the controls on the computer this afternoon. Now have this voice telling me to do this and that. !!! very annoying, I hope that when I shut down, she will go away :-D :-D

The sky has cleared here and we have a bit of sun for an hour before it starts to get dark.

Very quite on here this afternoon. I wonder how Gill is getting on with her viewing ??

Ros always complains that when she's in the bathroom, I need to go to the toilet. It's not my fault. ;-) ;-) WHEN YOU WANT TO GO, YOU HAVE TO GO !!!!

I think I will put the oven on, the meat can tick along on low. It should smell nice in an hour or so, and will be so tender later when we eat it.

I have checked the weight of that RIB of beef. 3.85 kilos So that's my bargain of the week.

COT and Mince pie time. then a bit of Nat Geo. My favourite afternoon programme. <3 <3

I did miss a couple of posts from yesterday after posting this morning I had forgotten I had'nt read all of them as I was so tired.

I watched the Back In Time programs too. Did'nt know anything about the 40's but remember the 50's. Mum and dad would put the decs up while Iwas asleep so when I woke they were everywhere. All down the hall were coloured twisted strings of crepe paper that mum had amde on the machine all pleated up and when they were taken down they were rolled up to store for the next year. We also had a huge ball of coloured paper and a big bell hanging in the hall.

OH is cheerful as he had a really good day. We now have another brace of pheasants and a partridge! Our freezer is getting a bit full!
Lamb casserole and dumplings tonight, so easy.
Hope Jane is ok.

Evening all

I've had problems getting online today as my router is playing up again.

It sounds like you're having problems with your computer Frank, hope it sorts itself out when you close it down. You got a bargain with the ribs, it pays to say something when they make a mistake on the price. So you've booked your holiday then? I bet you can't wait to get there and away from the awful weather in this country?
Hope Conrad gets his passport in time.

So Cass has had a good day and is now tired, bless her. She's such a good girl isn't she?

It's very quiet on here today, isn't it?

Well, the viewing didn't go very well. Right from the start the man took over, going from room to room totally ignoring me and his wife and picking fault with almost every room, even small things like the lack of a shower curtain. I wouldn't mind but we don't even have a shower, just a shower head that's attached to the bath taps, that I use to rinse my hair with. They were only here about 10 minutes, so I think I can safely say they won't be buying it, unless it was a tactic on his behalf to put in a really cheeky offer.

I felt so sorry for his wife, she barely looked in any of the rooms and kept saying it was his domain every time I mentioned things to her. So in the end I shut up and just followed them as they walked around. It was quite embarrassing and it was a relief when they left. The only other comment the lady said was that my Christmas tree was the best one she'd seen, so that's a positive LOL, she was pleased with the fact that we've had a new boiler put in, but he didn't seemed bothered, just kept picking faults every where he went....He must be a nightmare to live with. I feel sorry for his poor wife.

Off to get something to eat now and catch up on my soaps I recorded last night before they're back on
See you all later <3

Did one flower arrangement this afternoon before it got too dark to work in the shed. I have no leccy in there to have a light on and oh said he was'nt running the leccy out there because it is across the road.

I just asked oh what he wanted with his pork eggs and chip, beans or peas?

His answer to me was he dos'nt mind it makes no difference to him as beans end up in his lap and peas end up on the floor. It did make me laugh because it was sooooooo true!! :-D :-D :-D

I remember donkey's years ago an Indian or Pakistani gentleman came knocking on your door carrying a suit case full of clothing he insisted on showing you, with a view to a sale. A shirt sir? and a tie? You couldn't get rid of him. If you said not today senor, I'm skint, he'd say no problem mister, I sell to you so much a week, I collect. Well, before you knew it you'd bought a shirt and tie for a shilling a week. Then he'd go to the next door and the next repeating his sales pitch. He'd be back next week for his shilling trying to sell you something else. He used to work damn hard for his shilling to which he of course added interest. Over the months and years his sons owed their homes and cars to his industry. Whatever they think of us 2 or 3 generations on I have a memory of a hard working shrewd astute ticket man.

Cor I had to laugh at not having a shower curtain. Did he think if he moved in you would leave the shower curtain!! Silly fool. I think he was just rushing around looking to see how he could make the place bigger on a budget to resell.

Evening All

Just back from the Dr..I will have a CT scan on my bonce (probably to see if i have a brain in there LOL).Also I need to make an appointment to have blood test.He gave me stronger Co-Codamol tabs in case I get another flare up in my hip.
He said that all the symptoms I described does seem to be Ocular Migraine and as Chris said it is unusual for someone my age to suddenly start getting them .He was a pleasant man and has only been at that surgery for 2and a half months. So hasn't heard of Chris.

Gill that man sounded a horror.I hate people like that.He was very rude :-P.I bet his wife is a downtrodden lady :-(....Glad she loved your tree though :-D :-D

So more goodies for your freezer then Liz :-D.I bet Cas really enjoys the shoots and uses every bit of energy she has.

Mandy that was a lovely lunch you all had today.I did like the sound of what you had.

And Frank a good feast for you tonight :-D
I'm sure you will get used to your new pooter soon.

Mel you just need to look under one of my dining chairs and know who sits there. There is often a few peas or bits of rice etc......That is Chris...Mucky so and so.He seems to manage to drop all sorts and half of his food ends up on the front of his shirt :-S :-S.

I had Ruby and Maureens cards today :-D....I think Mel that Maureen just doesn't have time these days to do all her card painting.

I see on our local news that a young student who was a volunteer at an animal shelter near here has died from contracting Weills Disease !!!!!! :-( :-( (leptosprisos)

Must think about food now :-)

David the only doorstep salesman I remember when I was young was the Bettaware Man.He walked miles and miles with his suitcase of goods and sometimes had his hands bandaged because of blisters. He was Mr Bojanitz (wrong spelling) and had been I think a Polish Prisoner of War here.He settled and married and had 2 children and lived in our village.I have a book somewhere about his life.He was quite an amazing man.
We don't seem to get any doorstep sales people these days. There used to be young men with large holdalls full of dusters ,sponges ,tea towels etc. They would either be deaf or have some kind of speech impediment.I was never sure if they were legit or not.
