Frank Report 6 Jan 2016 10:21

Morning all, Evening Kim,

Another GREAT nights sleep, and I got back in for an hour after a toilet trim.

Sorry to hear you are not up to the mark Jane. Are you sure Chris didn't dose you up, so you couldn't go to M K lol

Yes Mandy I sprinkle nutmeg on top, I also put a few drops of vanilla in the milk. To add a bit more flavour. I don't eat sweet things very often but Ros enjoys them.

I have printed off my tickets and Boarding Pass's. But not sure when I can print my return tickets. I might have to get John to do that while we are there.

Ros stood ironing for about FOUR HOURS last night. She also pressed all my shorts, and finished packing the main cases. Just toilet things and medicines to organise, and our little plastic bags.

Damp drab morning here.quite misty, so we have no plans to go out anywhere, apart from collection the scrips.

O Frank thats good you had another nice sleep and it sounds like you are quite refreshed for it today. Just two more sleeps before the off then. I hope you have a nice relaxing time in Tenariff (sp).

Frank Report 6 Jan 2016 11:37

It's started to rain here now. What's it doing in Devon Mel ??

Ros is off to have her nails done this morning, and hairdressers tomorrow, so she will be all primed for her holiday.

J & C will meet us at the airport about 6.00 pm. We are going to a Pasta/piza restaurant on the way back to their house. Both Ros and I are not too keen on piza, so we can have A SPAG BOL. or something else.

Conrad has bought my old laptop, as he has a girl starting in the office in Spain. He would insist on paying me 100 euros. We had already got our money sorted for our holiday. So no doubt Ros will find something to spend it on while shopping with Carolyn ;-) ;-) ;-)

Ros is doing a stir fry tonight, so only one more meal left for me to cook on Thursday. Then a week off :-D :-D :-D

How are you getting on with the machine Gill. ?? What have you made.??

Ann, I seemed to have lost my SPELL CHECK. How do I get it back PLEASE !!!

magpie

magpie Report 6 Jan 2016 12:25

Frank, my Kindle automatically spell checks. If you spell something incorrectly and you want to stay with that spelling you have to overide the correction. Mind you, you have to be a bit careful that you don't get American spelling!! My laptop underlines an incorrect spelling, so you can correct it by clicking on to it or leaving it, it's up to the individual. I would have thought yours would have done the same! I've never heard of losing spell check, but perhaps Ann can help you.
Nice day here. OH and Cas are out beating all day!!! I've even cleaned some windows!! This afternoon I shall go up to the raspberry canes and see what's what.

Its still ssh here and I have been out inthe shed having a clear up of all the green stuff I brought in there and never used. The needles were falling off the fir and I had to sweep up two dustpan loads and a few more after taking the branches out to the bonfire.

Have brought the flowers I did'nt use back in to pack away till next year.

Liz it does seem strange to me how we can get on when our oh's are out.

The sun has gone now and we have grey skies.

Frank

Frank Report 6 Jan 2016 14:57

What do you mean Liz/Mel. How you get on when oh are out. I'm sure that they like me, don't stop you getting on. Ros works around me. !!!

Would you believe it. It's drizzling with rain and my silly neighbour has just hung out a line of washing. :-( :-( :-( I'm sure she is getting dementia . When she walks down the road. Her head is right down and her arms are streached out by her side. I have asked Tony about her, and he says "SHE'S FINE" Everyone around us know otherwise. She should go to the Doctors with him, so he can explain how she is. As yet I don't think he has bothered.

Did you manage to get to the cinema Jane. I thought it might be iffy going in your state. :-D :-D :-D :-D ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Our neighbour across the road was 85 yesterday, Ros took her some flowers and a card. She has just had a HIP replacement, but is finding it hard to get around. Her daughters are coming morning and night to get her up and put her to bed. I know one is on her own and lives in a bungalow. Why does she not take her Mother to live with her for a few weeks. SOME PEOPLE :-( :-( :-(

Carolyn has SKYPED to say she is doing a BBQ on Sunday and inviting some other
friends who live out there. So I can see a boozy afternoon ;-) ;-) ;-)

I still haven't got SPELL CHECK so excuse any mistakes !!!

Back from the film.It was ok but I wouldn't rave about it..The name of it was Joy.
For the first time I actually felt chilly in a cinema and was glad to get home and put a wram jumper on.The weather is grey and really dreary here but at least the fog lifted.

I would love to have some rotten apples in my family tree. But sadly everyone seems t o be just run of the mill .
Anne you asked where my BIL works on the flooded reserve. It is Tewkesbury .I think he is project Manager (or something).

So Frank clean and ironed shorts all ready for you :-D.Just think in a couple of days you will be enjoying some lovely sunshine and heat.
Hannah says it is about 36/37 where she is right now.At least they have air con in the beach bungalow for night time.

Mel I am glad your teeth are gradually getting better. It is such a pity you have had all this bother.Fingers crossed the new ones in March will fit perfectly.

Talking of spell check ..I don't know if I said (I may well have done so sorry if I am repeating)..I sent a text message to Hannah the other day to say we were going to Fitz's on Sunday for a Drinkie Poo.........I hadn't realised but the message actually sent as ...going for a Stinky Poo!!!!!!! :-D

Time for a cuppa .Chris is bent over the coffee table desperately trying to finish off this puzzle.I bet he won't be able to stand up properly.I can hear huffing and puffing going on so `i think he is getting a bit exasperated now :-S

They've just come back Mel, so peace is at an end!!!! Cas has been really good and did her first pick up on her own!!!!! She's very tired so not much playing from her tonight!!
Getting very dull here and cold. I have the first part of my annual review with the practice nurse at 8.30 tomorrow! Next week I see the Dr and will hopefully be given a clean bill of health for another year! fingers crossed.
Chicken for supper tonight, so easy, and not too much clearing up!

Evening all

What a hectic couple of days I've had, yesterday I spent all day and into the night taking down all the decorations and hoovering everywhere, then today the Agent rang and booked in a viewing, so this is the first proper sit down I've had for two days.

I've decided to try and find something with lights for Sandra's room as she is missing her Christmas tree. She has the pink rose lights that Mel gave her and had them on in her room last night, but I think she'd like more, so I'm going to put my thinking cap on and see what I can come up with for her. She loves pink so I might keep that theme going and incorporate the pink roses into what ever I find.

It's so bare everywhere now and not so bright in our living room now the tree is down. We had almost 300 lights on it and now we only have one small lamp. At least the room looked bigger for the viewing which was good as the lady commented on how big the room was.

Sorry to hear the tinsel left marks Jane, we had the same problem the other year when I used red tinsel around my windows, it touched the white walls and left pink marks, luckily we painted that part of the wall which solved the problem and we never put tinsel there again. Hope you can get the marks out ok. Have you tried a bit of lemon juice or maybe some bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar, that might work.
It looked like the ducks were enjoying the floods, even if your BIL wasn't. Have the water's receded yet? It's been terrible weather for lots of people over the last month or so, hope it doesn't get any worse for him.
Sorry to hear you didn't get to the shop with having a dicky tummy, glad to hear you're feeling better today though. Nice to see you made it to the cinema pity the film wasn't up to much for you, never mind I'm sure the next one will be better.
Enjoy your STINKY POO on Sunday LOL.

That's one brave Jack Russell Ann, hope he didn't come to any harm if he tried that trick again. He must of been very hungry, did he look as if he hadn't been fed properly?

Yes, we have a second hand furniture shop near us Mandy, so I'm going to take a look in there tomorrow for a table. If I don't find one I've got a folding one which OH has said he might be able to lower by cutting the legs down which, if strong enough, will probably work. If I can't find one locally and the one I've got isn't strong enough then I might try Argos and get a flat pack one. OH's a dab hand at flat packs so that'll keep him busy for half an hour ;-) ;-)

I'm picking up the material from mum's tomorrow for her cushion covers she'd like me to make so I'll need a table of some sort to be able to use the machine, otherwise I'll be doing them by hand, which I don't fancy. I still haven't used the machine yet with busy so busy and not having any material yet.

All this talk of how long everyone has been married. It'll be 29 years for OH and I on Sunday. I remember it snowed just as I was leaving the house to go to the car, everyone was freezing but I was lovely and warm in my wedding dress as it had 7 layers of skirts, I also had a lovely shawl around my shoulders. Mind you I was that nervous that I probably didn't notice how cold it was, I just remember thinking how pretty everywhere looked with a light dusting of snow.

I noticed the Victorian bakers was on TV last night but missed the beginning so didn't bother watching it in the end. My great granddad was a Baker and had his own bakery in London. I didn't know he existed until a few years ago as my nan and granddad divorced before I was born, so I only knew my step granddad. Apparently my great granddad was German, which was news to me. I only found out his surname when I came across my mum and dad's marriage certificate and it mention my dad's surname and gave a 'formally surname' beside it. I manage to find some distant relatives on Genes, although they weren't German as my great granddad moved over here long before any of them were born and married an English girl. Well, three English girls actually.........He must of loved WEDDING CAKE :-D :-D :-D
It sounds like you have a very interesting family tree Anne. There's mention of a bigamist amongst my lot, (not my great granddad) as we couldn't find a death record for his first wife, we found her in a workhouse when he was married to his second wife and on the marriage record for his second wife he said he was widowed which was obviously a lie. I'd love to know what the story was there ;-) but guess I'll never know :-S

Pleased to hear things went well at the dentist Mel, hope the next appointment in March goes well too.

I'd better get back to the film Sandra and I are watching, I've had it on pause for a while so I could do this post and Sandra is getting fed up of waiting now, so I'd better go.
See you all later

LOL The Stinky Poo was Sunday just gone.It was when Janice and Larry were here and we all went down to Fitz.
I have to admit I haven't done anything yet about trying to get the stains out of the window frame. But if my cleaners dont work I will try lemon and Bicarb. It is lucky that the affected window frame is halfway up the stairs so it won't be seen by anyone coming in.

I haven't spoken to Larry since Sunday so not sure what the flooding situation is like still on the reserve.I know that it was all getting fairly close again to my Nieces house. :-S.But they seemed to think they wil be safe this time.

Oh well done Cas..Good Girl.I bet she was very pleased with herself Liz with her first Pick Up :-D :-D......I don't know what is going on with Thomas today. He is in and out like a YoYo.He hasn't been like this before.Comes in for about 5 minutes and then wants out again :-S

Gill we will have been married for 35 yrs on the 30th May .Are you doing anything for your Anniversary on Sunday?.We never do .Although we did go on a cruise for our 25th.That was so nice.It was to the Norweigan Fiords .I don't think I will ever get Chris on another cruise. Not his kind of thing.Which is a pity as I would quite fancy another. :-D

Gillx Report 6 Jan 2016 19:02

Sorry Jane I thought it was this Sunday.

No we don't have anything planned for Sunday, I think OH is just glad to have a weekend off, although he's had to book it as a holiday to guarantee the time off. It'll be nice to have him here for a Sunday lunch if nothing else. I was thinking of getting a nice piece of Lamb and cook it slowly like Frank does. Each time he mentions his lovely roasts my mouth waters, so now I quite fancy one myself instead of our usual chicken. Lamb costs quite a lot to buy but with it being a special occasion I thought I'd push the boat out for a change ;-) ;-)

How nice to have gone on a cruise, pity Chris doesn't want to go on another one with you. Maybe you and Hannah could go on one instead.

Sorry Liz for asking, but what is a Pick Up? I assume it's something to do with the shoot that Cass goes on.

Well, Sandra started watching Celeb Big Brother last night, OH and I aren't to keen on it, but will watch it to keep Sandra company. She's made up, as one of the characters off her programme "Hollyoaks" is on there, so she's pleased as punch.

Off to watch my soaps now, Emmerdale is calling LOL :-D :-D

Gill if you buy a frozen leg of lamb it will be a lot cheaper, that's what we will be having this Sunday , Sainsburys will be delivering it tomorrow morning.

Gill a Pick Up is a term for picking up a shot pheasent or other game bird. Cass has had her first real one now. What a clever girl she is and going to be a great gun dog me thinks. Well done Cass. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Gillx Report 6 Jan 2016 19:32

Thanks Mel, I thought it was something like that.......Well done Cass <3 <3 <3

I didn't know a piece of frozen lamb is cheaper, thanks for letting me know Anne. I'll buy one tomorrow and keep it in the freezer until I need it.

Corrie's just started, so I'll get off and watch it. I'll be watching Dickensian later too Mel <3

Anne

Anne Report 6 Jan 2016 19:37

Gill the difference in the lamb prices is the frozen is from New Zealand and the fresh from the UK, I only get half a leg which is enough for us but none left over, I don't eat red meat so this is for Paul, Richard and the two girls who are both quite big eaters. Like Frank I cook it very slowly

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 6 Jan 2016 21:47

A half shouder is cheaper and a sweeter meat than the leg. Oh loves a shoulder of lamb better than a leg. I have a small boned joint in the freezer which we may have tomorrow

Gillx

Gillx Report 6 Jan 2016 23:01

Off to bed now. I will look for a nice piece of frozen lamb tomorrow when I nip to the shops. When I do buy lamb I normally go for a leg, but might try a shoulder this time and I'll cook it slowly, so it's nice and tender.

Thanks
See you all tomorrow

MORNING ALL and evening Kim,

Thought I would shout it this morning to wake you all up. Been raining here but we've had a little watery sun and there are some bright places in the sky between the grey clouds.

Hope all slept well especially Frank as he is off again tomorrow. <3
