Fotgot to say good morning, 8 degrees and very dull here, a bit chilly too. Dish washer is playing up, mostly washing OK but not completely dealing with some stuff. I had more salt in my Tesco order so, after actually hand washing several bits I have added more salt in case that is the problem.
Daughter's birthday today never thought I would have a daughter in her 60s. :-D

yes Mel my email reply was a combination reply to both emails. I mentioned the turning of the leaves from the first email and the rainbow from the second. Why are you worried? Vera said she read posts but wouldn't answer because of straining her eye. The same probably applies to emails.

I am wondering how many of you got my email with the pics?
Vera you certainly went through the mill with your longer op. I hope things start to clear quickly now and you can see colours again. Thats a long while to wait till you can get knew glasses and it must be strange without a lens in one side.
Hi to EOS long time no hear. Sending love and wishes. <3 <3

I'm glad that's done now Vera and each day should be a bit better. I remember taking OH to have a lens taken out of his glasses. He was very short sighted so had one eye long sighted and one eye short sighted till the second eye was done. I remember making him a lens cover from paper I painted black at one point so he could do his work and I drove him to some meetings. Those little bottles of drops with the tiny amount in don't look as if they will last long at all do they and what a cost for the parking!! :-0
I went through Littlethorpe where I lived as a teenager when I went out They raised the road years ago by the station which has the river next to it due to floods and originally the pavements each side were over two feet higher than the road. Even after raising the road, today there was a road width river of water running across it and cars were going slowly in single file down the middle. On the way home I decided to go a different way past the packhorse bridge by the tip. I thought I might have to turn round and go another way, but the water was covering the field each side of the road and just lapping at the road each side. There seems so much traffic lately and all going far too fast through the villages with cars parked on the pavements both sides of the road. I saw a man jogging down the single lane remaining down the middle of the road and noticed he couldn't go along the pavement as a lady walking towards us with a pushchair hardly had room because of the cars half on it.

Evening all,
Its been a dreary old day and so dark again ,it's been that fine drizzle all day so we haven't been out .
Vera glad it all went OK now you need to rest the eye ,it must be strange with only one lens in your glasses it reminds me of the time when we were on holiday and BIL laid on the sunbed with his sunglasess on and had only one lens in and he never even noticed it was gone .
Ann those fields near you always seem to flood ,I think we're lucky this way ,hope you've managed to get your shoes on ebay .

Pleased that all seems to have gone well Vera That is awkward while not having a lens in your glasses for one eye until after 12 December. I suppose you will get used to it. I am pleased with the blow by blow accont as it is likely I will have to have it done in the future. Take it easy now for a few days.

Hello everyone, I’m pleased to say that I’m still in the land of the living.
We left home soon after 7 am on Thursday and it was fine till we were near Bury and then the traffic was horrendous. We really thought we were going to be late but got there a couple of minutes to 8 am, OH dropping me at the eye treatment centre and then going to park. I got checked in and there were 2 ladies there already and another lady and a man came in shortly after me, so there were 5 of us booked in for the morning session. There were lots of tests and scans and I lost count of how many different drops went in my eye. I then saw the consultant’s registrar for a chat and he said that most ops only took about 20 minutes but mine might take longer because of all the problems I had had at the back of my eye. Then it was a case of waiting our turn to be called in to be “done”.
My OH had to sit in an outer waiting room but he had taken his book and seemed happy enough though the poor man had a long wait. Although I was the third person to be booked in I wasn’t called till fourth. My surgery took about 35 minutes but it was OK, no worse than slightly uncomfortable. I was taken back to the waiting room with a large plastic shield taped over the eye, it was a bit like wearing an Easter egg mould. One of the staff brought me a big mug of hot tea and some biscuits and when I mentioned my husband had been waiting all this while she got him tea and biscuits as well which was kind of her. In fact, all the staff were lovely. Eventually I was given my instructions and my drops and allowed home. Parking cost us £10.50!!
I was in quite a lot of pain the rest of that day and could only see what looked like a dense white fog. That worried me a little bit as everyone I know has said how bright colours were straight after the op and even OH had to wear dark glasses for a couple of days. I couldn’t see any colours at all. By the next day the fog in my eye was clearing and it’s gone now but colours still look “washed out”. I managed my drops a couple of times myself but then my hand shook and a load went down my cheek instead of in my eye so OH is doing them for me now. The bottles are so tiny that I can’t afford to waste any.
The next problem was what glasses to wear now. I still need the same glasses for my right eye but they can’t now be used on my left eye. The hospital suggested I go into my opticians and ask them to remove the left lens from my glasses so I have been there today. I have varifocals and also single vision reading and single vision distance glasses. After a bit of discussion I’ve had the lens taken out of my single vision distance glasses. So I am going around wearing frames with glass in one side and a hole in the other. I could start a new trend. To type this I am wearing the old reading glasses with my nose about 4” from the computer screen. I have to go back to the hospital on 12 Dec for a post-operative check and then, hopefully, I’ll be able to get an eye test and new glasses.
Now I’ve bored you all with a blow by blow account of my surgery, which thousands have every week without making half the fuss that I do, I shall sign off. I don’t want to put too much strain on my eyes. I have managed to read the posts from the last couple of days so I know what you are all up to. I hope you haven’t been badly affected by this awful weather. Stay dry and warm.

Morning All,
I had a lie in too and then we went to the shop and OH forgot what he had come with me to get! There was a Christmas Fair nearby, so the car park was nearly full. Lots of floods across the fields both sides of the main road with Seagulls paddling across them. It was supposed to be dry today, but there was a bit of fine rain. I see the floods have been really bad in South Wales and feel so sorry for those affected as it must be awful to have your home flooded.
OH is being picked up by his friend and they are going to a match about 17 miles away that has an artificial pitch as they think after this rain that a lot of matches will be cancelled.
Just had poached eggs on toast and I'm doing another errand and then there's more washing to do and then see if I can take photos of some shoes to put on ebay before I forget.

Morning Anng and all,
I had a lie in this morning as I was up twice in the night andfell asleep again and then woke just before 10am.
I must'nt forget the shop today as I do need a few bits and some ham so thats all I have to do and I am sure I shall find many other things to do as well. I do need to round up my Christmas cards and have a dust here and there and I noticed cobwebs on the lights in the hall so thats enough for me to get on with.
Pc says 12 degrees and mostly cloudy and to expect three rainy days starting Tuesday. Yuk

The amber zone looks like it stretches from AnnG across the Midlands and me and might be near Mandy. The rain should stop here in two hours, Tomorrow should be dry for me to pop to the shop thank goodness!
I've got most things back in the now smaller cupboards, but there are still shoe boxes of mine in OH's wardrobe. I need to see if I can sell them really as they are like new and have only been worn at things like weddings in the past and with my knees I can't imagine wearing anything with much of a heel again.
I hope Vera is ok and managing the eyedrops.
