This reporting business is very strange. I’d like to think someone has made a request review accidentally but as it’s not just the first post but one or two of Jane’s as well it’s hard to see how it can be a mistake. There’s one of Jane’s on the first page which hasn’t gone AnnG.

I haven’t managed to do anything in the garden today but I see some of you have been busy outside. Did you find the camellia you wanted Annx?

I had another of those sleepless nights and have been dashing about all day so feel really tired now. First I went to the hairdressers for a cut and blow dry and I think she got a bit scissor happy. Then I visited the bank and Iceland to take advantage of their over 60s Tuesday discount. Got home, had lunch and did the ironing before preparing tonight’s dinner.

Tomorrow is a medical day. OH has an assessment for cataract surgery at a clinic about 20 miles away. As he’ll have drops in his eye I will be needed to drive back. Then in the afternoon we are both having our Covid jabs.

I’d better go and bring some plants back into the conservatory as I’m hardening them off but they aren’t ready to be out overnight yet. Then I suppose I’ll need to start cooking our meal. Oh, how I wish for a magic wand.

mel, I am not sure if it is me or not but I thought yesterday when checking the request review it was an April posting and there were a couple of Jane's posts that also had request review on them. they seem to have gone. Maybe somebody has looked at it and removed a few posts but not the first post which would remove the whole thread.

Hopefully they will reply and explain.

That is another 45 minutes weeding pots and sweeping and tidying the lower patio, it now looks more like summer down there with the chairs back out and all tidy. Of course this little advanced summer might be all we get but at least I will have tried.
Tomorrow I am going out with Jean and Karen to wherever their choice of garden centre is so hopefully can get some more hardy drought resistant plants.

I have just had a look and the first posting on the thread is not the one that I posted about What kind of things do you remember from childhood. Something about Effel Tower lemonade crystal my mum always made those up into a lovely lemon drink and Cremola rice which mum cooked and we had for sweet with prunes!

The originl Thread was started in April and I thought it must be coming up to the anniversary so its a shame that post is not on the thread anymore. I had managed the last time it went to copy and past the first post I made all those years ago but now I can't even do that as now it gone.

I did email that last address that Von gave me this morning so lets see if we get a reply.

My shed robby has chicks as he's been to me twice today and taken away three worms at a time.

Been and watered my strawberry plants I tidied yesterday and had a look at the bonfire and it has burned up quite a lot of stuff. Shall have to do another tonight and see if I can get rid of the last of the grass stuff dumped by the side of the orchard. I need to cut up some of the fallen apple trees branches so I can put those on the bonfire to start to clear those away.

First I am going to get the pressure wash down and clean all the tray the Strawberries sit in and my other plants and clear some more pots with nothing in but weeds which are outside my shed. That should keep me busy for a while and I expect I shall get sidetracked along the way with doing something else.

Yes Mandy it could be a non member who pressed the wrong b utton or it could be a bored person out to cause problems. We used to get it a lot, especially in school holidays but social media has moved on from chat boards so that is unlikely.

I have just spent half an hour down the garden weeding old, empty but soil filled pots and moving them around. I have Jake coming in a couple of weeks to clear one last scruffy corner of old pots and rubbish so I am trying to get ahead of the game.

Morning all,

That's very odd getting the report, could it be somebody new to the boards do you think who didn't know what or where to click and pressed the report button , does it just report or does it take you to a bit to say why your reporting it , I've never done a report so have no idea what happens , hope it's sorted so we don't lose all the old posts.
Lovely bright morning son ,dil and Lewis were here early to help put the canopy on and the cover on the greenhouse and they have just left to go shopping .
We have to get the runner beans planted but we're just having a coffee first .

Enjoy your coffee with your friend Ann hope you an find the plant at the garden centre that you want .

Ann the thought has crossed my mind that, could it be anything connected to Jane. somebody maybe not coping with seeing her name on there. But if that was the case why would they be looking at the thread at all?

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 8 Apr 2025 10:14

Morning all and a special hello to Elizabethofseasons as I forgot to say so yesterday,

My hips today are letting me know they don't want to do any gardening today bless them they did so well yesterday back and forth around the garden bending and pushing the wheelbarrow. I shall have to see but need to take advantage of the nice weather as things in this garden soon get away with you.

Its 11 degrees here with blue sky and this white cloud to the north and a very high pollen count. My Laurel hedge still stinks as its in full flower but the bees and butterflies love it.

I think the bonfire may still be going a bit this morning because I put all those grass clippings on it, well not clippings but the stuff from the scarifyer off the two front lawns andwhere he has dumped the front field grass is something I hav'nt found out yet.

Morning All,

Sunny again! I'm off to meet a friend for a coffee at a garden centre soon and to see if they have the Camellia I want.

I didn't realise it was so recent so that is a bit odd then AnnG and it isn't likely to be an accidental thing with Jane's post being reported as well.

Good morning all. lovely sunshine out there still only 1 degree. Because it is so cold overnight it takes quite a while to warm up out there. It must be cold for those going off to work in the mornings. I used to leave home just after 0730. Seems strange now, I am rarely dressed by then.
Ann, the thread was only marked for review in Mel's first post on Sunday. There was nothing on that post , or, I think, on Jane's posts before that. I often open up onto the start of the thread before clicking to go to the end, I'm sure that I would have seen it before if it was done earlier.
I don't know if they would take any notice of anyone else emailing them except the original poster. I might try though. It would not be the end of the world if we lost the thread but would be a pity.

Annx Report 7 Apr 2025 19:03

Evening All,

Another sunny day. We are being so spoilt before the promised rain arrives mid month.

The reports, whenever they were made, were on 15 year old posts on the thread, not reporting the thread itself and were just after you decided to start the thread again Mel. Even Jane's only comment I can see about the reporting was at the same time, 15 years ago as well. Maybe an explanation is that your post was reported then, GR reinstated it and since then someone else didn't like the post for some reason and it has been reported again or accidentally reported as AnnG suggested?? :-S

You got quite a few of your miniatures made Mel. Do you get customers that are regular?

I didn't get on very well today. The squatting slightly weeding yesterday made my knees ache, so I gave the garden a miss today. I popped to the shop then called at the bathroom place and couldn't find the coloured samples I was interested in and a helpful lady said they 'walk' and gave me a knowing look, but gave me the company phone number so I can request samples from them. I thought I'd just check what the sink and vanity units I've whittled down looked like again, only to find some have disappeared and they have another new catalogue out with different ones and some of the ones from the old catalogue are still for sale in the showroom. How confusing!!!

The schools here break up on this Friday too. It must look lovely in DIL's house with all the flowers Mandy and someone is going to be busy topping up the vases. It's a good job you were able to pass some vases to her after going through your own.

It took both of us to wheel the garden bin on the front as it is crammed full and the drive has quite a slope. Do you all get the same instructions that the bins have to be left on the edge of your property with the bin handles pointing to the road like we do? Also the lids must be fully closed.

Mel, I am confused. You don’t need your password. Just go into your emails as you do when you are sending something to us. Put the address you’ve been given by Von in the To: section and then put in a subject as normal and whatever you want to say. It is just an ordinary email you are sending.
