Morning All,

Misty here too AnnG and 6 degrees. A bad night's sleep with OH so I sat up with him for a few hours. He's better this morning again, poor chap and it's his birthday today as well.

I've just done some more clearing of paper in here and will set to on the final decisions for the en suite later, unless OH fancies going to the garden centre that has a big section on The Works. He might find himself a cheap book or two. :-)

Thank you Mandy for forwarding the photos.

What lovely spring flowers adding their colour there Ann.
It's always heartening to see a garden 'come alive' again after the dreary winter months and I know it gives you a lot of pleasure even though it is sometimes hard work maintaining it.
Thank goodness for Jake and co. who have made it easier for you to manage things.

Another lovely morning here, although it was a little misty earlier. So far laptop is telling me it's 8 degrees, but I'm not looking forward to the weather cooling later in the week.

Good morning all, overcast and a bit misty this morning and 7 degrees now. I slept ok and finally woke at 0715 plan so far today is to have a shower then change the bed and then wash the bedding. (exciting things! Life doesn;t get much more exciting than that!)

I am not sure I took very good photos with my phone or maybe it was the light. I was amazed when I looked at the patch of Helebores etc to see how many spring flowers there are in there. Helebores tete a tete, snowdrop remains and several primulas.

Thank you Mandy. I can never get the iPad to do a group email but thought I would try again. Thanks for saving me the job.

Thanks for forwarding the photos Mandy. Your garden is starting to look colourful AnnG. The Hellebores are nice and those crocus are such a vibrant colour and everything is waking up with the sunshine we've had.

OH has the same performance at the Opticians Vera. He often needs two lots of the eyedrops to get his pupils wide enough for the Optician. Once he was given the eyedops to put in at home before we set off, so it would save some time. Don't forget his sunglasses when you go again. OH reckons it is always sunny when he has an eye test and those drops.

I haven't received anything AnnG.

OH saw the optician and had various tests and scans but he's got to go back on Monday week to have drops put in and another examination. It's annoying as it means I will have to go with him again to drive home. Apparently they couldn't do them today as he has to wait for half an hour after the drops go in before the optician can examine him. If they knew that, why on earth didn't they ask him to come half an hour before his appointment time today for the drops?

I don't seem to have achieved anything much today. I wandered round Waterstones which is right next to the optician and bought a book and this afternoon I've responded to some emails and done a bit of banking and a bit of filing. Now I'm sorting out our dinner which I'm planning for 6 pm.

The two Anns are making me feel guilty as I know my wardrobes need sorting out and there will be stuff for the charity shop. I won't find anything with labels still on. I hate shopping so much that I only buy clothes for me when I really need something. I do have a wardrobe full of clothes but most of them date from the year dot. I may have to try and get out in the next week or so and try and buy a really nice blouse or top. We've got a diamond wedding 'do' to go to on 22nd and I don't know how formal it is going to be. It's a dinner for 65 people in a hotel with some entertainment after. I've got to find something to wear between too casual and too overdressed. I've got 2 possible skirts with jackets if I can find the right top to go with either of them

If we are going to eat at 6 pm I had better go and get some veg on to cook. I think a glass of rose wine might go down nicely while I'm cooking ;-)

No photos here yet either AnnG.

Jake is going to drop the boiler panel in on Wednesday evening, so I just hope my measurements were right and it fits!

Your garden bin day is the same as ours Gwyn. I'm going to do some cutting back in the morning to top ours up.

I ended up doing more admin and tidying my desk today. That was lucky finding the orchid had survived Mel. I must dig up some of the self set Cyclamen under the arbour. I thought they were petals that were falling from the main clump at first.

No photos here Ann.

I've been cutting back in the garden too.
The garden bin is almost full and will be collected Tuesday.
A little bit of warmth and sunshine and I feel much more inclined to get out there and get stuck in.

Can you let me know please.

Everything is getting so automated now and its putting people out of work.

I have been in the garden all morning. First I cut down the Clematis by the step, then got sidetracked so left the top bit and went and put a load of paper under the tree branches and a load of Ash twigs on top hoping to start a fire tonight, I had screwed up a whole Daily Mail into screws and balls and put them in an empty fat ball box. Then I went in the shed and repotted a lot of the plants I have outside in pots that the rain had washed a lot of the soil out and took weeds out of others. Found a lovely big orchid in one which was covered in weeds and I thought I had maybe lost it but pulled it all out of the pots and saw nice white orchid root torn the weeds of the top and it has a lovely fat lot of leaves coming up. Put fresh soil round it and gravel on top. Then I spied some little primroses in flower ad thought they wouldd go in the trough up on the patio but on closer inspection they were cowslips so they got weeded fresh soil on the top and gravel and now they are on the patio by one of my fairies.

Thought I better eat something and take my pills so came in and had a bacon sandwich and half a stuffed jacket potato and a glass of water and a glass of red grape juice. Now I am ready to go out there again and do a bit more.

I found some things with the labels still on too AnnG so you are not alone. I seem to have several really long cardigans I haven't worn and doubt I will now, but will hang on to them a bit longer. They might help me keep warm next winter if the energy prices keep going up! :-S

I'm gave my knee a rest while lunch went down and I might see which of my trousers fit now and sort those. I've started the food order off, so Asda won't hassle me. That reminds me I meant to ask those of you who go to Morrisons whether your cafe's have become self service? When I parked at the city one near the hospital where I dropped OH off, I wandered through the maze of goods they have piled up in the walkway now looking for the newspapers. I ended up at the cafe and had a quick look at what they do now out of interest. No-one was serving and I saw a man doing something at a stand, so I walked round and it was a touchscreen with the menu on and he was ordering food. I suppose it means they don't need as many staff, so someone's job will have gone.

I missed you there Vera, we were more or less at the same time. I find if I wake around 3am I can usually get back to sleep, but if it is 4-5am when I wake, I never can get back to sleep. I am sleeping ok at the moment but waking not long after 6, then lay there until abot 7.

I had a go at the wardrobe and have found three skirts (2 long black ones, don't go to those sort of occasions any more), and three or four tops three of which to my shame still have the labels on them, all sale buys, all good but Just have not had the occasion to wear them and probably won't now. Also found a sweater of tony's in there, I obviously had ideas of wearing it as it is a pretty colur, but while the sweaters do fit the sleeves are much too long. so I have two bags to take down to Irenes when I feel a bit more active and my back has eased.
I have also done a load of washing and have got the slow cooker on for this evening.

Morning All,

Yet another sunny morning! As AnnG says it will be a shock when it gets colder at the end of this week. Like Vera I was awake from soon after 4.00am and couldn't get back to sleep. I was up early and did the veg for lunch, cleaned out a cool box and sorted out the fridge so I know what's in there.

OH was a bit twitchy about going to the match Mandy, but he was fine and found some pals to chat to. I kept looking out of the window for him when he was due back! This morning his footie paper wasn't delivered so he's walked the round mile to the village and back to collect one and is fine apart from a blister on his foot! He should have worn his trainers. :-( I bet the family did enjoy the trifle too. They must look forward to what you make for them.

Yes give your back an easy day AnnG. I use that Ibuprofen gel on my knees and it helps a bit.

Sounds like you may need to plant more lilies if there will be extra mouths to feed soon Mel! It's a shame there isn't something harmless you could spray them with that the deer don't like. How much longer will you have to wear the boot for?

It sounds like the optician is busy Vera if your OH has an appointment on a Sunday. Iit's a nice day to have a run out anyway and breaks up the day as you say.

I've cleared some bobbly cardigans out of a wardrobe and need to start another bag for the charity shop.

Better check how lunch is doing now.
