Just popped in to say hallo but I can't stay. It's been one of those days when everything I touch has gone wrong through no fault of mine. The latest was just now. i realised that the only day this week that I could have a Tesco delivery is tomorrow so I quickly got quite a big order in. The whole site seemed to be working a bit slowly but when I tried to pay and check out we just went round and round in circles. Eventually a notice came up to say the fault was at their end and I should try again later, so more time wasted. Also if I can't pay by 5.30 I will lose the slot. Grrr.

I hope everyone is OK and Annx's doctor's appointment went well.

I hate clearing the freezer out cos mine is a chest freezer.I know there is a lot of stuff in there that could go but I just can't face it. Maybe when its warmer.

I meant to send some bits to some friends of mine at Chirstmas but it just seemed to run away with me this year so I am going to do the little dolls house things up and send them as An After Chirstmas Present.

Washing has been blowing well on the line so I think I may bring that in and iron it.

We did have some sun but now it is lashing down. The bins have to go out today too, Mine is not very heavy (recycling) just hoping it won't blow over. and now sun through the rain.

Just done a very cold to the hands job. Cleared out the top three drawers of the freezer and written the contents down.
I hate food waste but I did find some stuff from 2021. No way would I eat that so it has gone in the food bin. Just got a couple more drawers to sort but I roughly know what is in those.

Sorry Anng Iv'e been busy. The sun has come out and I did a wash and put that out and its blowing in the wind. Fed the girls and the wild birds and they have eaten nearly everything I put out this morning. I had bought two new peanut feeders as I put the fat sticks in one. The Woodpecker had ruin the first one I had which is why I had to buy new ones but I think the new suet pellet are softer than the last lot and they are going through them like wildfire. I fill it three times a day if they're lucky.

Postman came with the label I order yesterday online but not with the one for Saturdays parcel. My postie was off on Saturday and it was a girl I did'nt know so Tim said anyway I did'nt get to her before she drove off so I tried to rebook it for today but it would'nt let me so I thought Tim would bring it with the other one. No he did'nt know anything about it but has chased them up and will probably come for it tomorrow. Makes me cross cos I like to post as soon as I can after they have paid. Iv'e had to message the buyer and explain.

Ooh talking to myself.

8 degrees now and sunny but it did feel cold when I went to put some bits on the bird table. sparrows are eating me out of house and home. I nearly completely filled a large feeder with cheap mixed seed and the sparrows have eaten the lot. I have seen at least six sparrows round the feeder. That is actually good news because I think their numbers were decreasing. So I don't mind.

I decided a bit of H/w was required so I have vacuumed and dusted downstairs, cleaned the bathroom and changed the bed. And have also put a chicken leg in the slow cooker for tonight.

good morning Mell and all, quite bright and sunny at the moment but obviously had a lot of rain overnight as the patio is full of puddles. pale blue sky and 6 degrees. Nothing planned for today as it is supposed to stay very wet and windy.

I made four cards yesterday but may make more today as it is good to have a supply in the bos.

I slept ok but was dreaming a lot last night.
Ann hope you and G slept ok as well. And good luck with the doctors visit today hope it helps you. And hope you can get an appointment for G as well.

Vera hope you slept better last night too. Was the roast beef nice?

Dark and dreary and pc is saying rainy days ahear its 7 degrees with a yellow wind warning. Its just come over so dark I need the light on.

Hope you all slept well enough last night.

That was nice to have a chat with your neigbour and to know someones there if you need help or they do.

I have to ring the docs in the morning at 8.30am to see if I can speak to the doc as I can't get an appointment with her till March. I don't want to see a male doc as the one that came and talked to me before haad such awful bad breath I was nearly reaching, yes it was that bad.

Going to find something to eat now as I am peckish, cheese and biccies I think.

That's a good description of my sleeping and waking AnnG. The mind takes over when I wake like you say.

That's nice the lady offered to help if you ever need to go to hospital Mel, it takes a worry away when you have a plan and it will be a friend to go to the garden centre with too. Yes It might be a trapped nerve as you say. I hadn't thought of that. It's a nuisance the wind has caused more damage to a fence. I hope it works out ok with the postman and label tomorrow.

Mandy those orange buns sound nice. Are you sure you didn't test number 12? :-)

OH wanted to go and thank the neighbour who came to check on me, so we popped over the road for a short while between the rain. They were surprised OH looked as well as he did and we had a nice chat with them for a little while. They said again that we need to look out for each other which was nice. OH has helped him with some paperwork things before.

The food was put in the kitchen which made it easy for me and the delivery chap was so obliging we'll do that from now on.

I realised I should have ordered my meds last week and forgot, so I've done that and OH is taking the tablets that seem short to ask at the surgery, as the boxes have been crossed out where it says how long to take them?? If it is just over a week there are just enough.

Sorry ladies bun problem all sorted ,Colin had two for pud and I had one so all even now lol there might be a spare one tomorrow if Colin has another two and I have one .

Raining quite hard now and wind has really turned gusty .

I asked first so I am first in line for Mandy's spare bun. :-D :-D :-D

after i said the wind had dropped and the sun came ooout it only lasted about half an housr and the ewind came up again with lashing rain. Now its all dull and dreary again and still a bit wiindy.

Had my big breakfast and am now full to the brim and need a COT. Can I have a slice of your lovely smelling beef please vera so I can have it in a sandwich for tea? :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Can't get into anything today so I may just do a jigsaw online.

Now now ladies no fighting over my buns :-D

Wind has really got up here now and its just started to rain .

mm Vera, roast beef sounds good, especially if somebody else was cooking it.
I have a duck breast that was lurking in the freezer. I have prepped the veg, cauli, sprouts and leek and the duck only takes a short while to cook in the air frier.

Afternoon all

Woke up this morning to a cold but sunny day. That didn’t last long. It came over very grey and the wind started to get up again. I decided to go down to the post box before it got any worse and the wind was icy and getting stronger by the minute. The rain is now lashing down and it’s blowing a hooley. Roll on spring.

I do hope something can be done to help OH’s back pain Ann. It would be good if the docs could find out what is causing so much pain, then they will know the best treatment to give. Hopefully you can get him another appointment tomorrow. It will be good for you to be able to talk all your worries through with the doctor tomorrow. Fingers crossed that he can explain what’s going on and reassure you.

I’ll fight Mel for the spare orange bun please Mandy. You’ve reminded me that I made a nice orange cake a couple of times but I haven’t done it for a long while so I must look the recipe out.

I hope you get your parcel sorted out Mel. I’d be inclined to leave your fence until this wild weather eases up in a day or two.

AnnG, I haven’t had any problems getting on the site at all, either first thing this morning or just now.

We usually have our Sunday dinner around 2 pm but it’s going to be late today. We went to Homebase who are selling everything off cheaply before they close. OH wanted some more moss remover stuff that we bought there about a month ago. Of course they had sold out and I didn’t see anything else that I wanted apart from some big terracotta pots that were 50% off but though they were good value we really didn’t need them. We were there a long while because we bumped into our neighbours from where we used to live. We haven’t seen them since we moved 11 years ago so there was plenty to chat about.

It’s time for my beef to come out of the oven now to “rest” and the rest of the veg to go on. I hope it tastes as good as it smells.

Its not the chickens fencing that has blown down but a bit in the back behind my pond. The chicken run was ok this morning but I had to wait for the lashing rain to stop and then it did and the sun came out for a while now it grey again but no wind. It was just as though someone had turned the switch off when the wind suddenly stopped, wierd or what?

The orange buns sound nice Mandy can I please have the odd one?

Just thought not taken this morning pill and now its time to take another so I better go and do that and make something to eat as my tum is rumbling.

Very frosty here overnight and this morning but it's gone now and ths sun keeps trying to peep through but its quite cloudy so not a lot of chance of that happening.

That's good OH got a better night last night Ann ,if only they could now ease his back pain ,hopefully you'll know more tomorrow if you can get an appointment.

Anng I had no problem getting on here ,it must be your weather affecting it .

I have just made some nice orange buns ,only made eleven just not quite enough mix for twelve so we'll have to fight over the odd one .

Mel I hope you can fix the girls fencing that old fox could still be about , can you fix it on your own .

Ann good that G managed a good sleep. Hopefully once you have had a chat to the doctor you will start to relax and sleep better. At the moment your body is taking the minimum amount of sleep to keep you going so that once you wake up, you don't feel you need more sleep and you start over thinking things. Just relax through the day and try and read or find something on TV that doesn't take a lot of thought. Lunch sounds good, very nutritious.

Mel oh door fence down again, it is so blustery that maybe leave it down for now.
Hopefully the postie will bring your label back tomorrow as I assume you have paid for it.

Morning all I forgot to post this morning.

Its extremly windy and dark here with lashing rain dos'nt make you want to do anything. We have a wind yellow warning and its 8 egrees here now.

Pleased to hear that oh had a bit of a better night last night after the painkillers for his back. Hope you manage to get him an appointment in the morning. I am wondering if he has a trapped nerve as they can go on or ages. Enjoy our jacket and tuna salad. Nice and easy and tastey.

I'm still worried about this parcel but can't do anything till tomorrow and I am hoping Tim the postman brings the label with him tomorrow. If he dos'nt I shall have to try and rebook the collection.

The fence that BIL and I put up on Friday is now down again because I did'nt go down and put cable ties on it thats what we were dong when the postman came on Friday.

Morning AnnG and All,

Looks like we will get a lot of rain today and I can hear the wind outside. I saw on the news this morning that the winds will be bad in some areas and may cause outages, so that may have been your problem as you say AnnG. I am charging the phone bank in case we have any here and will charge my phone next. Edit: I managed to get on here ok, but the weather isn't too bad here.

I was awake again from 3.00am but OH managed to sleep a bit better after painkillers, despite his back pain. He is better sitting up or standing. We are going to see if he can get an appointment at the doctors again in the morning and get the scan they plan after physio brought forward. He's eating ok but fancied a jacket potato, with tuna and a salad for lunch and that will be easy for me to do as well. I got a food delivery booked for this afternoon and will ask them to carry it into the kitchen this time.

I've just put a wash on, but it's not going outside in this weather!

Anyone else having to wait ages to get on here this morning?
