Morning Anng and all,

LOvely bright sunny start to the day here and its 15 degrees and pc says tomorrows high could break the record for the 29th April. We shall have to wait and see.

May finish the edge of the road today may not will seehow I feel later on.

Hope the rest of you had a good sleep last night too. I did must have dropped off the mo my head hit the pillow.

Good morning all. Lovely morning, sunny and 7 degrees already. Had another good night, woke once in the night for the loo then just before six. Got up about 0630 as I knew I was not going back to sleep again.
Not sure what I am doing today a couple of things I could go and get in town in Boots that Tesco didn't have. I do find that a lot of things are out of stock when I am doing my on line order.

Strange Ann as I felt tired today despite sleeping well. I think it is the sudden change from lower temps to high temp or something.

I seem to be often watching recordings of Midsummer Murders. Some for the second or third times and I often don’t remember the culprit.

The food came early today, but the chicken with salad and pasta meals we like were out of stock AGAIN and a sub had to go back.

It sounds like you made good progress today Mel. I bet the chickens enjoyed their treat too.

AnnG it's good to go through your stuff and get rid of what you will no longer wear, but I thought just the same as you about there seeming to be no extra space when I went through a drawer of tops recently. I still had to do a bit of squashing to get the drawer to shut easily. I think what we put back seems to expand into the new space.

I've seen the new cattle in the field now and they look like young Herefords to me looking mostly brown with white faces. I suspect they are young bullocks, but they were too far away to tell. I don't think Herefords are usually a problem with no calves around, but OH will be keeping an eye on them when he walks across the end of the field.

I've been looking online for a suitable shallow wall cabinet with no mirror for the ensuite to move all my meds to. It would free up space in another wall cupboard then and make space for things that won't fit in the unit under the new smaller sink I'm having.

An early night for me as I feel tired despite sleeping well last night. I might watch a recorded episode of Midsommer Murders. :-)

Just come in again for a COT as I am as dry as a dessert.

Been back on road duty this morning and cleared another 15' I think and I have had two wheelbarrow loads off of it, one over the side in the orchard and the last one I put in the chickens run. You should have seen them they thought it was their birthday!! :-D :-DThe next bits not too bad and only needs dirt scraped off and swept up but I needed a drink and to take a pill and now I think I will make myself a bacon butty. Can't be bothered to do a big breakfast but may pop an egg in it too.

Your having a good clearout Anng. I gave one of oh's jumpers away last week to Stu so a tiny bit more gone.

I cleared some stuff out of the 'summer' wardrobe Friday and have this morning walked down to Irene's with two largish bags of stuff A lovely man's sweater and short sleeve shirt both hardly worn that is the last of Tony's stuff. Sad to see them go but not doing anything in my wardrobe. Also a sweater and a couple of tops of mine, all still fit but not going to be worn. and then four good pairs of velver trousers, two bluck, one royal blue and one dark red. all good but all two sizes too small for me. I would think all only worn once or twice. I am sure somebody will buy those.

Strange thing is, can't see that there is any more space left in there. I am sure that there is more stuff to go.

I have put the tumbler tomato in the basket outside and also the garden centre bought Alicante tomato which is getting quite big now has been put out in the trough where hopefully it will stay. I will have to watch the weather and cover them if there is a frost due.

Morning All,

Lovely sunshine here and 17 degrees here now. I have been out and spot weeded the nasty creeping weed on the front. It was getting all between the block paving on the drive too so it will be good to get rid of it. I must check when I go out if any is under where my car stands. I've noticed bindweed is creeping from next door as well as their ivy on the fence and the virginia creeper and their lilies of the valley are determined to make a come back despite OH covering most with a spare concrete gravel board and bits of slab last year. We've both done a bit more weeding in the back garden so that's it outside for us today as it's getting hot now. OH went for his short walk earlier and reported back that there are a few brown and white cows in the field at the back of us now, so I must keep an eye out for those.

Vera your daughter has made a great job of the table and it really looks good. It makes me want to come and have a cuppa there!

I like that prog too Mandy and some of the things they make out of what's being chucked away are fantastic. They get a lot of money for some of the things too. Thanks for mentioning that about your statins and I'll tell OH.

Mel that still sounds like a big job for today, but all your garden jobs are big ones aren't they. Sorry you had a bad night, but I actually slept well for a change. It doesn't sound like you will make any headway getting BIL to contact you before he comes. I can imagine OH saying we will just call on someone, but I like to let people know first.

Glad you slept well AnnG and are 'normal' again! It's a shame you couldn't go yesterday, but I tthink you did the right thing.

I'd better get lunch started next and the food delivery is later so I wonder how many subs this time.

Lovely sunny morning here too and its 13 degrees and pc says cloudy but the suns shining and the clouds are only very light and white.

I'm pleased you got a good nights sleep last night Anng. I went to bed and just lay there and lay there I did'nt even look at my phone for the time as I knew it was well past 3am and still I was'nt going to sleep. Must have done in the endand up once and went back to bed so I had a lie in this morning and watched the clouds passing the windows. Don't think I tired myself out enough yesterday with not doing any gardening.

Must see if I can finish the road today on side at least.

Good morning all. It is lovely and sunny here too and already 10 degrees. I had a really good night's sleep last night. asleep by 1045, woke around 2 and then just after 4 but then slept until around 0800. So back to normal now I hope (whatever normal is!!) One or two small garden jobs to do but will no doubt find other things

Nice bright sunny morning ,I looked out in the night and it was very foggy .

Vera your daughter has done a fantastic job on the table, so nice to see a bit of recycling so something can continue to be useful , so much is just thrown away these days .
I like watching that programme Money for nothing where she goes to the tip saves three things to recycle them into something and reselling them for a profit and sometimes a lot of profit to give back to the person who was throwing it away .
She took a leather sofa away and a chap made some lovely bags from the leather.

We're going to have a lazy day today ,I do have a little washing to do but I'm not doing much else ,no roast today but haven't decided what we'll have yet .

Hope everyone had a decent nights sleep and you all have this nice sunshine today .

O Vera the table is a masterpiece she must be very proud of it, its such a lovely design.

I didn't feel too bad all day and still managed to get a few small garden jobs done. I do hope I can stay asleep tonight. It is more tiring waking and sleeping than staying awak all night.

My goodness Annx, I shouldn't think OH knows whether he is coming or going with being told one minute to take his statins and the next not to take them and having to book blood tests and scans. It's enough to send anyone's stress levels soaring. At least he is happy with the teeth so that's one less thing to worry about. Thanks for mentioning replacement slats for vertical blinds. We have verticals in our lounge and OH's bedroom. They were made by a local company and it's useful to know that I could approach them to just replace an odd slat or two if I need to. We have roller blinds in the conservatory and kitchen and will probably go for rollers again when we get around to it.

I've carried on today with spring cleaning the kitchen and at last all the cupboards, drawers and shelves are cleaned and sorted out and most of the paintwork is washed. I've just got to wash the paintwork round the windows and clean them and have a clean of the fridge and freezer. They are the tall American type and are self defrosting so don't take too long to do. Then I'll have the joy of moving on to the utility room. I'm determined to get round the whole house sooner or later.

Either tonight or in the morning I'll email you a picture of a garden table my daughter has just refurbished. When I retired from work 18 years ago my boss and his wife bought me a really good quality wooden garden table with 2 chairs with arms. When we moved here in 2013 we didn't have room for everything so we gave them to our daughter along with some other garden furniture. Eventually they got past their best and she found the legs were starting to rot a bit so she reinforced it all and turned the hexagonal table into a round one, painted everything willow green and made a design on the top. I thought you might be interested to see what she has done.

Evening all,

The day is finishing with a bit of sun but it's been quite a cloudy day and chilly again .
I pricked out my cucumbers and toms into bigger pots and they stand in the conservatory as I think its still chilly at night to have them outside ,last night it was only 4 degrees , tomorrow I want to prick out my Cosmos and Calendula ,my sunflowers are getting taller to and I think something has had a chomp on one of them but I did have them on the floor in the greenhouse .

Anng I hope your feeling a bit better now ,shame you had to miss your outing today but better to stay at home if your not feeling to good .
I keep meaning to ask if the cat is still coming round .

Ann that was a good idea to tape the window switch it would be so easy to forget yourself and press the button and be in a right muddle if it didn't go up again .
That's good OH is happy with his new teeth .
Let's hope stopping the statins will stop the pain ,I have blood tests to test my liver because of taking the statin each day and they have affected my liver slightly .

Vera you are right T was in the RN from 1955 to 1968, he could sing hearts of Oak with gusto. But it was not that one.

OK Mel you could see McCavity (Because McCavity was a ginger cat and very tall and thin, and whenever crimes were discovered, McCaverty was not there..

My thoughts were Red red wine, Heart of the oak like Vera and over the rainbow for the tulips and I wander lonely.

Just a quick hallo as OH is making us a lunchtime sandwich right now. Sorry you're not feeling brilliant AnnG. You're probably wise to stay home today. HoH was Heart of Oak. With my weird logic I could see the hollow leading in to the heart of the tree. It is also, of course, the Royal Navy march and at the back of my mind I had an idea that your T was a Navy man, but I might have misremembered that. We used to sing it at school but the words might be considered not politically correct these days.
