I think (hope!) I got it right AnnG. I expect some would do the minus step before the divide instead of the other way round and get it wrong.

Well my list hasn't got much ticked off it yet. We've been looking at the menu for the italian restaurant where we plan to go tomorrow for OH's birthday, which is on Tuesday. Not sure why he has chosen Monday ,as I am expecting a small parcel that will hopefully go through the letterbox. They seem to have added chilli to some of their dishes now, so we have excluded those, but there is still plenty of choice.

Just glancing through the Mail OS on line and they put a maths question up which apparently people found difficult and many got wrong (adults) The sum is
6X6 - 6 divided by 6 (sorry don't have the symbol available quickly for divide.)
I am sure you can all do that in your head as I did in about 10 seconds or less.

Better get dressed Jake is coming to give me an estimate this morning and I am never sure when he will arrive.

Morning All,

Yes we have the grey and gloom too! OH has gone for his walk and I have got our salmon, veg traybake and a few low fat chunky chips ready for lunch. The co-op mediterranean traybakes are good and ready to cook so it's an easy meal for a lazy Sunday.

It sounds like you are ok for oil for some time Mel, and time to see how the prices go. Our earliest Camellia has been in flower for about a fortnight and some flowers are past their best now, but the other two are still in bud with no colour showing yet.

It seems we all had a good night last night AnnG. I find the memories are interesting with the weather like you say. We soon forget by the next year as you say. I am tackling a few things on my list today too so better make a start.

I hope Mandy is feeling better this morning.

Well I went out and did a bit of tidying round the non working pond/water feature and then a bit of pot weeding but the soil is so cold again my hands were freezing it is still only 8 degrees and quite misty. but not wet.

Morning Anng and all,

About the same here very gloomy and very grey too and it 10 degrees. I always turn the heating on for an hour in the morning to warm the house up a bit. I can rememebr not have the heating on from March after mum died.

Just having my COC and I will get on with washing up and then my miniatures.

Hope the others slept well. I did up just the once.

I have started watching on U The House of Elliiot as I enjoyed that years ago.

AnninGlos Report 8 Mar 2026 08:32

Good morning all very grey and gloomy again and 7 degrees, but dry.

I slept really well, from about 11pm to 2.40 up for the loo, back to sleep and woke again for the loo about 0635, back to sleep for another hour then decided I had better get up. Now just off for a shower. Nothing planned for today but plenty of things on my 'list'.

Just had one of my 'memories' on facebook and 10 years ago the weather was the same, very warm one day and the next kije yesterday, cold and gloomy. So nothing changes really only in our minds.

My camelias are out in the garden up the top and the forsythia and hysinths and mauve primroses as well as the usual ones. I must pick a little bunch for Em.

BIL said last week he filled both their cars up and I think I will pop to Hatherleigh tomorrow and do mine. Not sure what to do about the heating oil I should think it will get me through the cold spell and I only use it for the hot water in the summer.

Hope you all sleep well tonight.

That's why I mentioned it Mel as some were saying their oil price had nearly doubled. It might go down again before long, but it could go up more. If your supplier hasn't increased their price much yet It might be worth topping your tank up. We filled our cars up this week in case of any panic buying. I bet it has smelled lovely all that new mown grass. It makes you feel spring is really here.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Mar 2026 20:27

O gosh Mandy that was a shock, we wondered if you were ok as you had'nt posted. I hope it all settles down for you now but it should'nt have got like this with you ending up in hospital.

Gwyn that was a quick response to your call about the leak and sorted quickly.

BIL came again today late afternoon I thought he was'nt coming and had got into my miniatures when I heard the car and saw him walk past the window. He changed the deck on the mower to the long grass deck and mowed the two front lawns and the back lawns and I think he may have done outside too but iv'e not been out there.

He also dipped my oil tank before he left and I still have quite a bit about a third of a tank in there. Not sure if I should get some or wait and see if it goes down in price. BIL says diesel is going up too.

My goodness Mandy, I'm sorry to read that you've had such a rough time, but it's good that they have thoroughly investigated what might be causing those horrible sensations and hopefully you will soon feel a lot better. <3

All sorts don't seem to be be working as well as they did. Last night I saw a warning about OH's Rampiril tablets. The manufacturer makes another BP tablet and some had got in the wrong packets and it was saying to check what was in your packs. Then this morning OH's appointment letter arrived in the post at last. It was dated the 28th January and was for his appointment on 9th February, so it's arrived a month after the appointment! It's a good job he got a text. It's going to be busy at Melton where he is today as it's Pork Pie day there. His friend with him had an interview at an undertakers yesterday so I wonder what sort of questions they asked him.

Vera I tried some supermarket brand heat pads once as they were cheaper and they fell off and wouldn't stick. I've stayed with the deep heat ones since, but if I bend and twist a lot even they move sometimes. You could try a couple of strips of plaster across them. I would have expected all the quality checks to be done before the bus passes left the manufacturer as well.

Yes your water company soon got the leak sorted Gwyn. Thanks for mentioning about the stamps too as I need some 2nd class ones. I hadn't noticed they were going up in price either.

I did notice some saying how much domestic oil price had gone up with all the trouble going on with supplies and thought about Mel.

Oh dea Mandy, I am sorry that you had to go to hospital but at least they seem to have found what could be the cause. I know my sodium was checked with my last blood test so maybe your had got worse since your last blood test. I have taken a diuretic for about 25 years now. Anyway hope that is the solution and that you soon feel better, just as everyone says, take it easy.

Vera maybe buy some new patches and see if that works.

I would have thought the bus passes should have been quality checked by the manufacturer before leaving the 'factory'. I wouldn't expect the council staff to have to run a check. But a good job it has been found before everyone started to use them (at least I assume it was before and not found by people using them.)

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 7 Mar 2026 12:56

Poor you Mandy. Sorry to hear you had to go to hospital but at least you found out about your sodium levels and hopefully things will start to improve now. Take it very easy and just rest.

The weather here sounds just like yours Annx - damp, dreary and cold. OH, bless him, is faffing about this morning and driving me mad. I am trying not to get cross with him but I know I am a bit grumpy as my back is giving me a lot of pain this week. I’ve been using heat pads but I am sure the quality has gone down. They don’t stick as well as they used to and sometimes just fall off. That’s enough moaning from me.

Your water company were quick off the mark Gwyn so it’s a bouquet for them and a brickbat for our local council. A week or more ago we and most of our friends received our new bus passes, valid for the next 5 years. Today we received another one with a letter telling us to destroy the first one as a manufacturing fault had been found during a quality check. Is it just me that thinks they should have checked the quality before posting the passes out. Just think what it has cost in staff time, stationery and postage.

Better go. OH has just called out that he has made a sandwich.

Morning All,

Perishing and dull here.

Oh you poor thing Mandy having to be taken to hospital. After all the tests they did it sounds like those tablets could be the problem so I hope you are soon feeling much better again. Just have an easy time this weekend while the effects should hopefully wear off. <3xx

Morning all,

Just a quick one to say I am about but I've been in hospital as I got so bad I went in by ambulance ,they did loads of tests ECG,blood tests ,chest xray and he thinks the reason I have felt so unwell is because my sodium level so very very low so I have to stop my indepamide tablets as they are a diaretic and take the salt out in your wee apparently and this can make you very dizzy too I have to do another blood test for the sodium in two weeks to see if it begging to come up again .
So this morning I didn't have that tablet so I'm hoping my head will begin to feel better in a few days .

Mel love the Cockerell.

Thanks for that Gwyn I had not seen that, they have got wise, they have not given much notice this time. I must buy a couple of books.

Have just seen online that postage charges increase in April.

It might be worth buying a few stamps before then, as they will still be valid at the new rate too.
.....................................
As of April 7, 2026, the prices for UK postage stamps are as follows:
First-Class Stamp: £1.80 (up from £1.70).
2

You must have saved them quite a bit of water. I wish I had a business where the stock came out of the sky for nothing!! I know they have to make it safe for us to drink and pipe it everywhere, do repairs to maintain everything etc etc.....

Good morning.
Misty and moist here earlier, but now brightening up nicely :-D

Photos received now from AnnG and Mel... Thank you.
What a proud bird he looks displaying his feathers!

Very impressed by the local Water Company, for a change.
On Thursday lunchtime, I noticed a large puddle in a side road gutter. Water was gently bubbling from below, so I went online and reported it at about 12.30 p.m.
Daughter passed the road about teatime and noticed signs and barriers.
By yesterday lunchtime, the repair had been completed.
Credit where it's due. They did well with this.
