Morning all,
Misty moisty morning here and its 9 degrees and pc says mostly cloudy. I don't mind that as long as it stays dry.
Slept well and up once for the oo but it was getting light then went back to bed and dreamt about oh and we had scorpians in the garage and one on the wall was over a foot long. Other were smaller down to a few inches and one fell on me and I hit it with the watering can I take the girls water round in.
Laying there after waking I was thinking of the magic painting books I used to get as a child. Do you remember them?? I used to get them for my son too and I wonder if they still do them for little ones?
That will be so nice to see your granddaughter in the begining of June when she comes home for a visit. Its something nice to look forward too and should cheer you both up.
Annx I have'nt had a pork chop in years enjoy. May get myself some for next week. I haave homemade apple sause in the freezer.
Well I need to get the slow cooker on with the chicken casserole for tonights dinner and get tidied up and hoovered for Stu coming tonight.

Morning All,
Beautiful sunshine again, but a bit of mist still clearing. OH has gone to a council meeting, well to a meeting before the meeting and there will be a meeting after the meeting as well. They couldn't even get him a parking space today which I think is poor when his help and advice is free. Not sure what I will get done today, but first I'm going out to another garden centre if the car starts ok. Then washing needs doing and a list of other things. This sunshine is showing up dust and mucky windows for starters and I want to get the garden bin filled for the first collection this year.
I had a better night AnnG. Is your chiropodist handy? I can't remember whether you walk or catch a bus. Yesterday I decided on the pork chops this time after seeing the price of the lamb ones! I did a slow cooker meal with the lamb mince and a tomato sauce and used up odds and ends of veg in the fridge so we can have half today with rice.
Enjoy your meal and get together after at your house Vera and it will be great to see your granddaughter in June, something to look forward to as you say.
I'd better get going now so BBL

Mandy that was frustrating for you I thought you made the appointment specifically for the funny turns not to check your BP. Do you think somebody got their wires crossed. So now another long wait.
Ann thar farm shop order sounded good. Was that pork or lamb chops.
It was apparently a man in next door last night. Very strange and a weird time of night.
As to whoever the new neighbours will be. If it is the daughter. She is very strange. No idea what her partner is like. She has actually passed me in the road without talking or acknowledging me so it could be quite quiet. :-(

The ECG is probably a good idea Mandy but if the doctor doesn't talk to you about your funny head how does she know it isn't connected to your blood pressure? Our doctors tend to say it's one problem at each visit but they are a bit flexible and sometimes recognise that different issues could be connected.
Your system for getting your meds sounds similar to our old system Gwyn which worked very well. I still get a new script with my meds each month but don't have to do anything with it, other than turn up in 4 weeks' time to collect the next lot. Have fun with the children at World Book Day.
Like Mel says, it's nice to do something that hasn't been pre-planned so I expect you enjoyed coffee with your neighbour AnnG. I wonder what will happen to the empty house by you. I hope whoever eventually moves in turns out to be pleasant.
The downstairs has had a thorough clean today. OH was helpful and steam cleaned the floors for me as well as doing one or two other jobs. While he was doing that I had a good sort out of all the bits of paper lying around in the study and it was all either shredded, recycled or filed. I can't believe how tidy both the desks look now.
As I mentioned 8 of us are out for a main course lunch and then it's all back to mine. I have a big trifle ready in the fridge. I just need to whip some cream for the top and I'll do that in the morning. The only other thing I need to do tomorrow is just have a quick wipe round the downstairs loo.
We've found a TV engineer and he is coming on Friday to see if he can sort out the TV for us.
We had a phone call from son asking us to try and keep the beginning of June free, though he doesn't know the exact dates yet. Granddaughter in Hong Kong is coming back for just a few days holiday. She will need to see her mother and will want to see her sisters but is planning to spend a couple of days at son's house. She has asked him if he can get us up to his house so she can spend time with us as well, so that's something for us to look forward to.
I'm hoping for nicer weather tomorrow as there hasn't been a sign of the sun at all today. The temperature supposedly got to 12 degrees but it didn't feel like it. I'm also hoping for a restful night for all of us. Night, night and sweet dreams everyone.

Evening All,
Another nice sunny day here and I did a wash, but like others of you have said I couldn't face reaching up and pegging it out so I put things in the coservatory on the airer as it was quite warm in there.
It was nice of Jake to take you to the docs Mandy and I bet he was keen to be out driving now he's passed his test. What a game trying to see the doctor though and doesn't your heart sink when they say something you think may be connected is another issue needing another appointment. It's happened to me before too. It feels like they are making three appointments out of one, so they get paid more. At least you have an ECG booked now which may be helpful.
That was a funny time for someone to be visiting the house nextdoor AnnG, even if it was the daughter. Almost like they didn't want to be seen or to talk to anyone. Perhaps they were switching water and gas/electric off and getting meter readings ready to sell. As you say it will become clear in time. It was a nice way to be sidetracked with a chat and coffee with a friend. Jobs can usually be caught up another time.
Gwyn your repeat prescription system works exactly like ours, but with the choice of ordering online which we do to avoid having to go and hand in our request. Online it tells us when to pick up our meds and shows against each of our meds when we can order again.
I can imagine the young children enjoying world book day and it is a great idea to allow them to wear pyjamas if they want instead of dressing up so they can take part without worrying if they haven't got a costume. It's good The school where Mandy's son works do the same.
I hope we get to see a pic of this cockerel Mel. Do you need some stronger glue for the cage? It sounds an interesting make.
You had a strange night with dreams Vera. Sometimes I wake up in the night and think the window is in a different position.
Well ERNIE has only given me a measly £25 the last two months, but that is better than I used to get years ago and is better than nothing. I have forgotten if I said, but with the blackout blinds in the bedrooms on the front the plastic connectors have started just breaking. They are out of warranty, but I rang the company and they are sending new chains and connectors free of charge so that's good.
Today we went to the farm shop and had poached eggs in their cafe after we called for OH to have all his blood tests. I got some eggs, chops and veg, apples, nice mushrooms, bread rolls and cottage cheese. The meat has certainly gone up in price! Then we called at the usual Co-op and they've made another change that isn't going to work very well. At present there are three tills with no space to put your bag to fill with your shopping as they use the same space to put your purchases as they swipe them. What they have done is put a self service till in front of each of the other tills, again with nowhere to put your bag and your purchases have to go on the same cramped surface as people using the old tills. People will be squashed together like sardines when they are busy like Saturdays and getting their shopping mixed up on the counter. I wonder if the next step will be to reduce staff even more.

Well I'm non the wiser really at the moment after visiting the doctor she did say my blood pressure wasn't to bad but she would like me to have an ECG which I booked as they do that at the surgery . When I mentioned the swimmy head and the indegestion she said we're here to discuss your blood pressure and I'd need to book 2 separate appointments for those . She did say perhaps I should get my eyes tested so I must book an appointment for that as I do have cataracts so perhaps they are ready to be done now . So until I have the ECG in a fortnight that's all I know .

That was nice Anng its good to do things on the spur of the moment and forget about what you were going to do. There's always another day. :-)
I have just tried to stick the cockerel in its cage and knocked the bars out three or four times so have had to stick them again. I have now walked away.........
Think maybe I will have a hot Ribena as I have just realised that I have only had one crumpet to eat today and maybe another crumpet......:-)

Hope all goes well at the doctors Mandy. Sometimes a locum is better, no preconceived ideas of your case. Well done Jake, his good turn for the day and a bit of practice for him. I cleaned the cloakroom after breakfast then sat in the conservatory with a coffee for a while, it was lovely warm in the sun but not too hot. I did a quick tidy up in the garden cutting down what was left of the peopnie stems and pulling out some ivy hiding under the Hellebores. I then got side tracked by being called over for coffee to friend over the road and that turned into an almost 2 hour stretch so no more got done.

That nice Jake can take you Mandy, will this be the first time you have been in a car with Jake driving? You have such a wonderful caring family. <3
Suns still out and I have been making a barrel lid in miniature. I had a black hairy cardi on yesterday and in the sunshine I keep seeing bits of white feather and when I try to pull them off feathers have barbs on them and its a devil to come off. I still have to paint the cockerels face and put some straw in its cage and stick him in but I think he may need a tiny bit more feather here and there.
Anng talking of feeding the birds I hav'nt done that this morning and I keep getting a Blue Tit flying up at the kitchen window as if asking to put some fat balls out.

That sounds a great day for the children and teachers and helpers alike to me. Hope you all have a great time and some interesting and fun stories.
I too had a dream last night but can't remember a lot of it. I was walking acros some grassland with friends. One was hanging back as she was smopking and we walked to Em's house where I had taken a large melon, a large bag of peanuts and a large something else but I can't tell you what that was but I know it was three things. I was sitting in a chair and george came in and asked if he could have a slice of the melon and I replied of course but bring me a slice too please. Off he went and a black and white tiny birds came in the room and walked about on the cream carpet. I said to it I suppose you want some peanuts but it did'nt reply and then I woke up!

I usually dress up AnnG, but with such a busy time lately, I have borrowed a T shirt with a picture of The Tiger who came to tea.
Teachers arrange their individual classes to usually have various activities based on a book theme and I am invited to join in with them, but there will probably be time to hear a few readers too. Lots of the children dress up or make a special hat to wear, but some years they have been invited to wear a cosy pair of pyjamas, as a nod to being ready to hear a bedtime story. This means even the poorer families can feel included. The school has several children with disabilities and they too love dressing up, so it's a fun day for all.

Take it easy Vera, no dashing around. Sounds as if your dreams were trying to dislodge all the 'rubbish' collected in your brain.Maybe the turning around feling on waking was to insist you slow down :-D
Mel, sort out the casts you think will sell the best and tidy the rest out of the way before you lose them!!!
Gwyn sounds like your system should work OK I hope it does. What book are you depicting for World book day?

Good morning all.
A very sunny day in the far south east, which is now burning off the very heavy mist we had earlier. 8 degrees and partly sunny, I'm being shown. It looks as if it will be another nice day. I will pop into town to put in my repeat prescription to the doctors. The system here is that the local nominated pharmacy gives out a new prescription, when we pick up our medication. We then hold that until towards the time we need more supplies, then tick required items and hand it in to GPs surgery for signing, allowing about 4 or 5 working days for the medication to be available to collect from our chosen chemist. We get 2 months supply at a time, so it's not a bad system. Might go and have a Lent Lunch at a nearby church, while I'm in town.
This afternoon I will sort out my clothes to wear for World Book Day at school tomorrow. This evening I am being picked up to attend a meeting, which might go on a bit... I hope we can discuss the relevent matters and get home really, as it's a busy week.

Morning Ann, Mel and all
It’s dry here and 6 degrees but it’s very misty with no sign of any sun breaking through. We have a fog warning for the next couple of hours. It was a weird night as I kept having strange dreams and waking suddenly. This went on right through the night. The oddest thing was that every time I woke I imagined my bed had turned 90 degrees. Goodness knows what was going on in my mind.
I need to get on with some h/w today but I think I will shower and wash my hair first.
