Thanks Mel.
Ann good job you didn't put on an unexpected show for the window cleaner. At least ours need to let us know when he is coming or he couldn't get in the gates. It really is an inconvenience that these doctors only work at the surgery part time. Inconvenience to patients not doctors.
Ah pleased that you are around Vera but sorry to hear that you had another bad miigraine. Are they more frequent now, was there a trigger for this one? It must be frustrating, besides being painful.
The sun is till shining here and it is 5 degrees. certainly not warm, I wrapped up and did an hour in the garden cutting a lot of overgrown stuff back. My hands were cold but I wanted to get something done as it is brown bin day tomorrow. And 'pay for next year's brown bin month' in March. that year has seemed to have flown by since last paying.

Hallo everyone
Thank you for your concern. Yes, I have been knocked sideways with a doosie of a migraine. It started on Friday and I’m only just coming out of it. Late yesterday afternoon I thought I would be able to do a couple of posts but after a short post on another thread I had to give up as the words were jumping over the screen so I never got as far as posting on here.

I’m not stopping now as I still have a lot of pain above my left eye and I don’t want to push my luck. Hopefully I’ll be back tomorrow.

Morning All,

Colder than ever here first thing, but the sun is out now. The windowcleaner came early so lucky we weren't in the shower. We bothe slept quite well last night.

I saw Vera had posted on another thread I think yesterday or maybe the day before yesterday, so hopefully she is ok.

OH has rung the surgery about his referral and it should be ready to collect this afternoon. As we thought the doctor doing it works part time and wasn't in work on Friday to do it. We are popping out to the shop and then to Screwfix as we need some brighter bulbs that are LED for the conservatory.

Good the apple tree is getting sorted out Mel. Hope you get through some of your jobs list AnnG. Mandy I have a wash to do as well. I have hoovered the bathroom, hall, study and main bedroom, cleaned the bathroom sink and worktops and windowsill and cleaned the kitchen sink.

More trouble with the front door so we need to get the engineer back, but the phone is constantly engaged so will try again when we get back. We are using the backdoor to go out incase we can't lock it again. Better get changed and get going so toodle pip for now.

Good morning all -1 out there and frost on roofs. Quite bright at the moment though with light blue patches in the sky. Slept OK woke at 0600 and went back to sleep and woke again at 0730, could have dozed off again but decided to get up. Not that I have any plans for today. Still got plenty of small jobs on my list.
Hope everyone else had a good night. Not sure that we saw Vera yesterday so hope she is OK.

Vera last posted with just a very short birthday wish wo Mel on the 14th. so do hope that all is well there.

I just had a look at the old newspapers as I had an email link which said they were free this weekend (I only spotted it tonight though). How great to see my maternal grandparents' Diamond Wedding Anniversary announcement in 1959! It confirmed a few things mum had told me and more. They had 11 children and 9 survived and at that time they had 40 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Grandad started work at age 13 and finished at age 78. I always wondered why they had a piano, but it said grandad was an accomplished pianist and violinist, which I didn't know, and played the concertina. I remember him having and playing a piano accordian. They had lived in the tiny cottage I knew for 40 years and I never knew grandad came from the village next to the one where we lived in Staffordshire. It also said grandma used to entertain people with her dancing at the local Derby and Joan. I didn't know that either!

Our printer has seperate inks too AnnG and, as you say, it seems no sooner than you change one cartridge another needs doing! I wonder why whenever I use it it seems to need more paper as well!

The driver is 2 stops away now so should be nice and early today. I think one of the reasons I get more subs is because I order low fat or low sugar things. They probably sell out of those because they order less of them. They then send me the usual versions.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 16 Feb 2025 15:41

I was lucky yesterday, had no subs and nothing unavailable.

It is so annoying when you come to print off something and the printer immediately says ink needs changing. this PC has 6 separate colour inks and today apparently 2 were empty. I had better get and order a new pack tomorrow.

Afternoon All,

:-D HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAX :-D I would have enjoyed his birthday breakfast too.

OH ate a good lunch today and enjoyed it, skinless chicken breast with a bit of mash, broc, cauli, carrot, parsnip and beans with gravy. He had to get up in the night for some painkillers and is only pottering about and having rests as he's so tired. His voice still isn't properly back yet so I'll be glad when he has his hospital appointment soon when he can ask about these things. They just discharged him with no advice of what to do or not to do. The GP didn't get the referral for the rheumatology ready for him on Friday so he will have to chase it up tomorrow. I suppose with so many GPs working part time it's to be expected. I passed on your regards Mel. There's more footie he wants to watch this afternoon, so I shall do more sorting in the study. I finished the pile to shred this morning, so will start going through the drawers in here next and no doubt find more to shred!

The food delivery is due in an hour too.......3 subs......2 going back.

O blast I look forward the The Midwives on a Sunday evening.

I thought it was Max's birthday the other day so I will say again.....

<3 <3 Happy Birthday Max <3 <3

Sounds like he had a good breakfast.

Suns gone and the winds up so its really cold out there and the wild birds are feeding like crazy.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 16 Feb 2025 13:20

so call the Midwife is not on tonight because of BAFTA awards. So I will not be watching BBC1 most of this evening then.

Its a bit like that here with the wind blowing in your eyes and making them water.

BIL has been and gone and took some metal stuff away with him for the recykling center. Did'nt stay long but he did show me how to put my Royal Mail postings in a file and I have been doing that.

Pc is telling me rain is coming and its been a nice morning with a cold wind but sunn too 6 degrees now.

Done the chickens and they were pleased to see me this morning. Fed the fish as they were swimming around a bit and I remembered to ask BIL to open the filter shed door for me as it was stuck closed and I could'nt open it as the wind had blown it shut a few weeks ago and it was jammed on a wire that comes out of it to my pond filter. I shall have to file away a bit of the door where the wire is so it dos'nt happen again.

Oh yes, happy birthday max. I bet he enjoyed that.

No I have not found anything I have been looking for, I did mostly know what was in the drawer as it has all my chargers but there was also a load of old labels and addresses on bits of paper that were out of date.

I have just walked down to Iren'es with some books and craft stuff. I had to time it between drier loads as I won't leave it switched on while I am out. It is bitterly cold but I was well wrapped up and even wore a hat so I didn't feel too cold. Only problem was my eyes kept watering in the wind so I couldn't see. Still it is done now and son in law's birthday card posted.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 16 Feb 2025 10:51

Oh so not to bad then Anng ,have you found anything you've been looking for ,it's so nice when there's something you thought was lost and it comes to light in a draw even though you've been through the draw looking for it .

I've just topped the dishwasher up with salt ,when I used it last night the salt light came on ,I really only use the dishwasher now if I do a roast or a lot of cooking ,I quite like washing up.

I gave Max scrambled egg on toast for his breakfast as its his birthday :-D
