In late 1969 I became 21 and did get the key of the door to the WRAF block, and no more bedchecks at midnight for me by the duty WRAF.

Before my posting in July 1970 to Cyprus all WRAFs had the key to the door and bedchecks were no longer done as everyone became adult at 18 sometime early 1970.

The 1970 election must have been the first election 18s could vote in. It was held in June 1970, I had my first vote just before I flew to Cyprus in early July.

Each year when the electoral roll form is filled in anyone who will be 18 before the following year's electoral roll is printed goes onto the roll with their birthdate shown incase an election is called.

Both my children had their names on the electoral rolls the year they became 18.

Can anyone tell me at what age people will appear on the electoral roll? I know you now have to be 18 but am I right in thinking it used to be 21 and if so does anyone know when it changed?

I am trying to find people born in the thirties on 1950/early sixties electoral roll.
