Tried talking sternly to it? If that doesn't work, take it aft to the docs cos he has saws and all sorts in his black bag. He'll sawt you out :-D

yes, I've had one.

The inflammation eventually went down before I went to the doc


Have you managed to knock it somehow, or overuse that finger?
