Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 4 Sep 2019 14:36

My grandson lived in Deal Kent for 13 years with his wife and family

A few months ago the landlady announced she was selling and gave them first offer but was still out of their reach

Soo they looked around and decided to buy but move up to near Doncaster into a new build that as first time buyers they could do with the government scheme of help

They have two girls at home aged 16 and 11 and both ready to move to new schools so although the new build isnt ready till next year they have reserved and moved into a rental in mid July.Just in time too as the house they lived in has been sold

They had booked a holiday before all this happened so have been to Orlando for 14 nights and got home Sunday morning having had a wonderful holiday

BUT they got home to find they have been burgled

Back door was jemmied in and all valuables have been taken

They opened the patio doors to take out the bigger items

They have lost tv,s laptops jewellery etc valued at around £10000

Granddaughter in law is devastated as her jewellery box was taken with its contents but it was her .21st birth present from her dad who passed away some years ago

Apparently its a low crime area but the police thinks it’s a professional job as no finger prints

Everywhere was security locked but they think they came over the garden from a schools ground that is behind them

Police also think the house was being cased as it was empty for some time till they moved in and it was watched to see who was coming and going and realised the occupants were away

The landlord is devastated as he has never had problems before

The police have been marvellous and are checking the schools ctv to see if they can see any vehicles in the area

Both girls hadn’t settled in and said we want to go home :-(

Such a shame for this to happen, when they were making new beginnings in their chosen area.
Hopefully the school CCTV or other local ones will show up something to help.
