Hi I am looking for Tracy and Alan Cooper born to Brian and Rita Cooper who used to live in Sunderland I think.
I am their younger sister Karen Kimber, eldest of their six living half siblings.
I don't want anything except a chat and maybe see if that leads to building relationships.

Welcome to the boards Kaz.

Can you give any other information - ages, possible places of birth

Which parent do you share

What was Rita's maiden name - ?? Barker 1963 marriage Sunderland?

Births of Alan 1964 and Tracy A 1966 in Sunderland with that surname and mmn?

Kaz Report 19 Sep 2019 19:01

Hi greyghost thank you for replying.

I don't know their ages I'm afraid, but Tracy I am lead to believe is older than Alan.
We share a mother.

I was born in 1970 a year after she married my father,

Her maiden name was Barker born in May 1945.

Can you help?

Omg I can't wait, I have to ask. Are you one of my relatives?

Please don't be scared off by my eagerness, I've just been to scared to actively look for my elder siblings for a number of reasons, I won't go into them on here in the public domain but please know that they are not bad.

Kaz won’t be a relation she is just trying to help

You need to establish when the parents married and their births
This should be on freebmd

Presume your mum hasn’t given you details of them

Kaz, if that query is directed at Greyghost, it's likely that he/she is not related. (Though it's always possible a relative will see the post, it's fairly unusual).

Greyghost is a member on here who like many of us will try to help with searches, and has worked out that info from bmds.

Is your mother still living? If so will she tell you whether the children stayed with their father? If they were adopted the advice given will be different.

Thank you Shirley I'm Getting The Hang Of It and Rambling, I just got a little over excited because greyghost had relevant info that I don't have and I jumped to an excited conclusion. What is freebmd please?

Rambling

Rambling Report 19 Sep 2019 19:46

Kaz freebmd.org.uk it's a free site and the first place most of us go for info

eg you will find you own birth by clicking on births and entering either your full name or the surnames of your parents Kimber/Barker

Thank you, I shall research freebmd also. :)

Kaz it will help if you can give some more detail as to whether they were adopted, no use anyone looking for them under birth names if so.

Karen have you searched trees, there is a tree with Alan in it possibly?

Kaz

Kaz Report 19 Sep 2019 21:13

Rita died and didn't leave us with much useful information unfortunately, I'm flying mostly blind.

Rambling Report 19 Sep 2019 21:26

Go to Search at top of page and 'search trees' , put in Alan's name and send a message to the tree owner, assuming it's not someone you already know about.

There's a marriage for a Brian Cooper in 1969 Sunderland so that could be him remarrying, you'll find it on the freebmd site. However they only appear on the electoral rolls to 2009 ( for approx right ages) .

Add: they were on the eroll in 2005 with an Alan with them, if the right one he may still be in Sunderland.

I will message you with the last known address, you could try writing in case they are still there.

Trying to find siblings for Rita but I'm not seeing a birth for her in 1945. Do you know where she was born? Your maternal uncles and aunts might know what happened to Alan and Tracy.

So she was Rita M according to the marriage to Brian Cooper

May help finding her birth but it not 1945

Think you need to get one of the marriage certs for her age and fathers name

Ancestry links her to this birth

View England & Wales, Civil Registration Birth Index, 1916-2007
Name: Rita M Barker
Registration Date: Apr 1944
[May 1944]
[Jun 1944]
Registration Quarter: Apr-May-Jun
Registration district: Battersea
Inferred County: London
Mother's Maiden Name: Smith
Volume Number: 1d
Page Number: 374

Would equate to registration of a May birth

Only posted as you say she has passed

The surname combination is too open ended so you need some info off the marriage cert
