Possibly an earlier child - Sarah Jane. From 1846 marriage to 1850 birth of William a bit of a gap. It would follow there was an earlier child. It would make the 1841 likely as those are George's parents names (I know relationships aren't actually shown on the 1841)

I am trying to find confirmation of the marriage between George Hill, b 1824, Staffordshire and Ann (maiden name not known) b 1825 Wolverhampton, died 12/08/1881 7 Nelson Place, Staffordshire.
1851 census - 151 Hanover Street, Hanley with Ann, George and William - this was a pottery works.
1861 - 98 Etruria road, shelton.
1871 - 7 nelson place, hanley - with George, Ann, William, Ann, Martha, Alice, Eliza, Emily, George
1881 - 7 nelson place, hanley where present at ann's death.
Only George, Ann, William and williams son George here.
