ENGLAND v FRANCE ~ THE ANTHEMS
As usual, the visiting Nation's Anthem is played first
Formez vos bataillons Marchons, marchons! Qu'un sang impur Abreuve nos sillons!
English translation:
Arise, children of the Fatherland The day of glory has arrived Against us tyranny's Bloody banner is raised Do you hear, in the countryside The roar of those ferocious soldiers? They're coming right into your arms To cut the throats of your sons, your women! To arms, citizens! Form your battalions Let's march, let's march Let an impure blood Water our furrows!
Then, the Host Nations' Anthem
ENGLAND ANTHEM ~ GOD SAVE THE QUEEN God save our gracious Queen! Long live our noble Queen! God save the Queen! Send her victorious, Happy and glorious, Long to reign over us, God save the Queen

WALES v ITALY .... RADIO JEM's TAKE ON THE GAME ;-)
WALES v ITALY TEAMS - Posted on page 277 https://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/general_chat/thread/1381398?page=276
THE GAME:
As my husband was not at all well yesterday, I recorded this game and watched it in the evening....
In the first part of the game Wales showed a lot of INDISCIPLINE as they seemed to give away penalty after penalty to the Italians.....
BUT THE WALES TRIES STARTED VERY EARLY INTO THE GAME...
*The 1st Try was just 7 minutes in, with a GREAT PASS by TAULUPE FALETAU (8) to JUSTIN TIPURIC (7) who ran like mad making much ground .... and who then offloaded to young KIERAN HARDY (9)who was tackled down by Italian Defenders. But he rolled over and GOT THE BALL DOWN OVER THE LINE! It was only Kieran's 2nd CAP for Wales.
*TRY ~ WALES ~ KIERAN HARDY which was successfully converted by CALLUM SHEEDY another young player.
WALES 7 ~ ITALY 0
*The NEXT WALES TRY came at 17 minutes from another relatively new boy- Hooker SAM PARRY (2) who managed to get the ball down while under a big pile of bodies :-D and again converted by CALLUM SHEEDY.
WALES 14 ~ ITALY 0
INJURY: LEIGH HALFPENNY, who was injured out of this game, had been replaced by an old favourite and fellow Scarlet, LIAM WILLIAMS, at Full Back (15) but not for long as Liam had to go off injured. He was replaced by baby-faced newcomer (2nd cap) IOAN LLOYD.
WORKING TOGETHER WELL.... The players who stood out to me for their great partnership on field were TAULUPE FALETAU and JUSTIN TIPURIC who had earlier set up the Hardy Try....
Another great passage of these two looked promising... Tips passed over to Faletau who offloaded to Wales Captain Big Al Jones who in turn passed to Jonathan "Fox" Davies. But this exciting passage of play came to nothing as Jon lost the ball forwards under tackle and the Italians took possession!
WALES LINEOUT SHAMBLES Wales seemed to be making hard work of many of their lineouts with the young SAM PARRY who has taken over from injured KEN OWENS as Hooker showed his inexperience.
*1ST ITALIAN SCORE Wales ceded a penalty to Italy again and this time it's kickable PENALTY GOAL ~ ITALY ~ PAOLO GARBISI
WALES 14 ~ ITALY 3
Soon afterwards came their 1st Try of the match coming from a great Garbisi kick to Centre Marco Zanon and ..... *TRY ~ ITALY ~ MARCO ZANON (13) Converted by Garbisi
WALES 14 ~ ITALY 10
YELLOW CARD As Wales' lead is being gradually chipped away by the Italians, an incident happens which gets Wales Winger JOSH ADAMS sent off.....
THE ITALIAN/WELSH CONNECTION Playing in only his second international game is Italy's Scrum Half STEPHEN LORENZO VARNEY. Stephen is a Welsh Speaker from Pembrokeshire of Italian Ancestry. Another Article regarding this will be posted on Radio Jem soon ;-)
Well, Stephen certainly did the Italians proud as he did an AMAZING run toward the Tryline.... The Welsh could not keep up the chase. The only one who was left to stop him was JOSH ADAMS who tackled him down preventing a sure Italy Try. BUT, Josh "did not release" and earned himself 10 minutes in the sinbin for his trouble. However, after rewinding the game and looking at the play, HE WAS HEMMED IN somewhat :-( BUT WELL DONE STEPHEN :-)
THE ENSUING PENALTY GIVES ITALY FURTHER 3 POINTS.... and as Half Time arrives I'm left wondering .... COULD ITALY ACTUALLY BEAT WALES? :-0 :-0 :-0
HALF TIME SCORE WALES 14 ~ ITALY 13
WITH MASCOT FLY OUT OF ACTION I'M HOPING SOMEONE WENT INTO THE WALES CHANGING ROOMS TO KICK B*TT :-|
SECOND HALF Wales kick off after half time still with only 14 players to Italy's 15 as Josh Adams still has time left to serve in the bin. What was his reward while he sat waiting to come back on? .... Someone brought him a HOT WATER BOTTLE :-0 :-D
A HIGH TACKLE on new boy IOAN LLOYD had me worried as he appeared really hurt. The Italian player's shoulder went into Ioan (pronounced YO-ANN) 's neck. But he rallied.
WALES IS BACK IN THE LEAD as CALLUM SHEEDY's PENALTY GOAL ATTEMPT IS SUCCESSFUL
WALES 17 ~ ITALY 13
*TRY ~ ITALY ~ JOHAN MEYER The young Wales players were no match for Meyer. They just could not stop him. As Jonathan "Jiffy" Davies" commentated on S4C "DIM GOBAITH O GWBL" - No hope at all! :-( But luckily for Wales, the Conversion failed as the ball curled.
WALES 17 ~ ITALY 18
YELLOW-CARDED JOSH ADAMS RETURNS
* HERE COMES GARETH DAVIES Tried and tested Scarlets, Lions & Wales Scrum Half (9) GARETH DAVIES replaces the young Kieran Hardy.... TO INVIGORATE THE WALES GAME <3
Just 6 minutes on the field and Gareth is over the Tryline for Wales. This great Try from Gareth came from a great pass from the immense TAULUPE FALETAU. Gareth then ran a great length of the field and the ball is down!
*TRY ~ WALES ~ GARETH DAVIES Converted by Callum Sheedy and Wales are back in the lead!
WALES 24 ~ ITALY 18
BIG AL IS INJURED Wales' Captain, the Record Breaking Alun-Wyn Jones, is now seen having his leg bandaged. But it is no good.... he has to go off :-( He is replaced by Elliot Dee.
*ANOTHER WALES TRY ~ GEORGE NORTH A great Conversion from the side by Callum Sheedy
WALES 31 ~ ITALY 18
*FINAL TRY OF THE GAME ~ WALES ~ JUSTIN TIPURIC Another example of the co-operation of Taulupe Faletau and Justin Tipuric as Faletau expertly passes to Tips who ran and ran and got the ball over! CALLUM SHEEDY concluded the scores
***** FINAL SCORE: WALES 38 ~ ITALY 18 *****
MAN OF THE MATCH ~ TAULUPE FATETAU, WALES <3
WALES TAKE 5th PLACE IN THE AUTUMN NATIONS CUP 2020 Congratulations Wales <3 Commiserations to Italy :-)

Good Morning Everyone <3
I must say a HUGE THANK YOU to LINDA <3 and FLY <3 who were thrown in at the deep end to keep this thread running yesterday when my husband was poorly.
Many of you will know that on top of having Lung Disease (IPF) and two serious blood conditions, my OH suffered a severe stroke 3 months ago and had to have surgery in Bristol's amazing Southmead Hospital.
I am trying to keep our rugby threads going, as even though we only have what could be called a "cult following", we do enjoy watching the games together.
<3 Fly, is also unwell at the moment, and I'm sure, that like me you all hope she will be better soon <3
Thanks again to my lovely friends <3 <3 and to all who take the time to look in <3
