So those of us who don't want anyone closer than 2 metres have no choice?

I saw an illustration of how pubs could re-open with 'safety measures' in place.
Hmmm...… alcohol and social distancing don't sound like a good match do they?
I get that the landlords need a livelihood but apart from the odd lone drinker, are pubs not for socialising?

Carrying a large blackthorn walking cane ensures very few come anyway near me.

The distance in Canada is

2 metres,

or 2 arms lengths,

or 1 hockey stick,

or 1 mature white sturgeon,

or 1 bicycle tyre to tyre,

or 1 cougar nose to tip of tail

or 1 large swimming pool foam noodle

:-D :-D :-D :-D

Australia and I think it was Germany use 1.5 metres, and as Kense says, WHO say 1 metre, so a reduction might help a return to a more 'normal' life.

I have seen some reports of changes to some of our local roads to enable independent shops to reopen, In one case the High Street is so narrow they are talking of either totally pedestrianising the road, or making it one way for traffic and widening pavements to make room for people queuing safely outside shops. In an already pedestrianised road they are talking of bollards down the middle and one way walkers! Who would have thought this time last year that this is what could be happening soon :-(

And the point is what exactly. By the way I’m cynical too.

Insane !

According to MSN, it is possible that social distancing might be reduced by ahalf to one metre.

What is the point of that?

Call me cynical but that looks more commercial than pragmatic to me.
