What a lovely idea, Ann.
Mine is a photo my dad sent to my mum, when they were courting.

Nice idea, Ann

My Dad was born in 1904, died 1970. This photograph was taken in a studio in the Ilse of Man in 1927 or early 1928, and given to my mother just before they got engaged in 1928. They married in August 1928.

Memories of my Dad, born 1910, and taken by cancer in 1990, aged 79.

I think I understand him more now I am older than I did when he was alive. He was a grafter whatever he did, and his diy skills are showing now in his precious grandson, my son.

I must show my dad

He was a very quiet hard working man

His hobby with mums brother Alf was racing pigeons and they had a loft in our back garden
Uncle Alf lived next door

Mum would get very frustrated with dad on a Sunday when the roast was ready to eat and he was told dinner is ready time and tine again only for him finally coming in to eat and complain it was cold !

Darn thing won’t change my photo or reinstall my picture

JoyL .................

It does look like it ............. but that style seems to have also been popular holiday or "leisure" wear in the 1920s

He never talked about playing cricket, the Boy Scouts was his major interest from a young boy to the start of WW2.
