:-) :-) Florence I also am of the opinion that supermarkets need to stop putting offers on junk food and reduce the price of decent food instead.

One supearket I used told me I didn't enough items so I should go round again and get more, I said I didn't need more, they weren't very pleased especially when I left said items there and left the building.

I rarely use the self scan and definitely wouldn’t like that sort of message. I suppose the next step would be the supermarket refusing to sell you the items. Nor would I want to work on the tills and having to tell customers off.

Maybe it Would be better to have food takeaways/deliveries refused if you have used the too many times in a week. Can’t see that happening.

Never mind the supermarkets what about all the fast food outlets selling junk foods. :-|. Why is there not a limit as to how many are in towns as we have dozens in one street in our nearest shopping place.

Oh my! What next?

I think maybe this would be an invasion of our privacy?

Whilst its good to have campaigns to highlight foods with say high fat and sugar, we as humans have to right to make informed choices for ourselves don't we?

I get home delivery from one supermarket, when I'm in town shop at another plus there's 2 local shops i visit occasionally 2. And yes we all should have a treat as yesterday i bought a slice of caramel cheesecake that i have not eaten before and fancied a treat so why not.

Nanny State indeed :-P

Everything in moderation, eh?

Last weekend we shopped in a supermarket, which we very rarely use and amongst general shopping bought several desserts. Their fruit and veg. didn't look so good, so we went to our usual store nearer home and had what I suppose would be a 'healthy' shop without all the goodies.

We were surprised one day, when shopping for a neighbour and as we checked things through the self-scan area, an item showed up with an alert.
The assistant came over to check and said it was because of the sugar in the 2 tins of baked beans.
Perhaps that was more than our quota allowed :-S

We delivered them to our neighbour with a warning ;-)

There are reports that the government want supermarkets and restaurants to ‘tell’ on our bad habits.

I don’t stick to one supermarket so one basket could be very unhealthy but the next one at another supermarket could be extremely healthy so zi would be very unhappy to get a telling off.

I rarely eat out do why shouldn’t I have something scrummy and unhealthy - it’s called spoiling yourself for once.
