… we’ve just bought two new ones, different styles.

Carefully measured and off we went. Never thought that maybe ther was another measurement to take.

One is very very uncomfortable, let’s just say a child would be unlikely to fall through that one ;-) :-\

Annoying, OH doesn’t mind that one, but then his beam is not as wide as mine ;-) ;-)

Dear Noble Nameless

Hello

My beloved mum was given a raised toilet seat.

(Imagine that!) :-S :-D

Now, the therapist who was a condescending woman
ordered one but forgot two important measurements:

The height of the toilet seat and my mum's height. :-S :-D

So my very small mum took delivery of a six-inch raised seat. :-S :-D

When mum sat on it, mum almost fell down the karsee, with her little slippers
going like the clappers! :-S :-D

I ordered one myself on a very well known site for about fifteen pounds.
It was only two inches in height.

Problem solved.

Take gentle care
Love EOS
xx

:-D :-D :-D

I did mention a padded cover - I think a new seat would be easier ;-)

My late partner put 4/5" raised seats on the upstairs and downstairs toilets when he had knee replacements. I'm 5'2" - need I say more? :-| I must have been a soft touch :-0

The subject of toilet seats is a very tricky subject.

We had a wooden one, which lasted very well. Then one day my oh was using the facilities and there was such a loud crack and all hell broke lose, the air was a bit blue. It had broken in three places, while it was still in use, he was not hurt.

When oh came out, he has not happy. Its the only toilet in the house., So mad dash to get the bus to a well known DIY store for a new one. Measurements were taken, had a good look for a replacement and chose another wooden one.

An hour or two later and a few choice words, and it was fitted.

A week later I thought i noticed a an extra couple of grains in the varnish, and low and behold looking closer the wood had split. Call to the D I Y shop, said seat was removed, receipt found and replaced after a heated chat with the manager. Would only place like for like, Manager said something like needed to check weight before purchase as there was a weight limit you know. Very rude. Oh told him previous one had lasted many years with no problem.

Oh wanted manager to check before we purchased, and we found two with slight cracks in the wood, much to managers discomfort and apology. So we left with replacement, after it had been checked over in shop. Not a cheap option.

Replaced said seat, Oh not happy, so when we went shopping at local supermarket oh found a cheap plastic one. Got home removed the wooden one and placed it in a box in the shed, oh didnt trust it.

The plastic one has been with us nearly two years now and no problems. <3 :-D

We decided against replacing the wooden one with wood as they seemed so heavy - there wasn’t much choice, and as it was bank holiday didn’t fancy going any further.

You just don’t think they would be such issues.
